    I literally just discovered you from reading a eskrima article about the pioneers who brought the art to the state and im extremely amazed you got to learn from all those great masters, i did a little bahala na and currently learning doce pares. I think combination if different eskrima styles always ends up being a lethal system, i really hope i get to train in kalis ilustrismo in the future, im friends with one of the relatives of tatang

    techniques work when you have good understanding of range and timing.

      Illustrisimo style doesn't really have a whole lot of fancy techniques. It's a very straight forward style, but as you said it's all about range, angles and timing. You can learn the basic footwork and techniques in a couple of months, but then spend the ten years mastering the range and timing.

      armynurseboy i meant the distance from where the student attacks. Its not realitic no one swings to miss the target or attack the side when the other guy also has a weapon
