Quick question, using the same motherboard and M2-pci-e adapter I'm getting about 10mhs lower than expected and one of my M2 ports doesn't detect a card with the adapter installed.. I Just priced this hole thing out from your list in the description. if the gpu where in stock it would be around 5,370 before taxes making around $40 a day let say $35 to be safe it pays it's self off in 153 days !! What an investment wow 👏💪
Hey man try moving the top cards 1 slot to the side so the cards aren’t on top of each other. I think that will be better since heat rises and 1 card just above the other will transfer more heat to the top one. It might even help to get the riser and cable for the top card further from the bottom one if you have interference
Epic. I literally built this rig as my first rig using this video only lol. I used the zotacs, and all the hardware in your description listed as "your favorite stuff". Appreciate all the minor details, can't seem to have enough of those. I did end up getting the zotacs to run at 99.5mhs, 86MJT, 227watts. Make sure your room is below 80 and drop the power limit in MSI after burner to 71. Fan at 80%.

What's are the temps for your 3080s? Specially memory junction Temps? I saw 3080 running too hot on my system (50 core 94 memory junction, and lowered them to 56 W power to keep these temps)
For the connections to the gpu's from the psus, you used a splitter on one of the power strands in order to be able to connect to the riser. Could you have used a 6pin(or8) extension from the daisy chain connector to the riser?
@2:20:42 They actually are, micron has a spec sheet for the cheap. This isn't a debate or guessing. There is no info stating if you are over 95c for x number of hours the chips will burn up. The info from micron as the limit at 125c on the top dead center of the packaging of the chip. Which means the temp junction chip would be well above 125c. Nvidia throttles you at 110. You can aim a heatgun at your GPU for hours upon hours and it would be fine. You would be getting throttled. Also on the caps, they can be bent sideways. As long as the wires are connected properly. NEVER attempt to bend back a bent over cap. All you do is weakn the joint. If you think the wire or joint is bad, repair, or trash, never try to straighten it.

I think EVGA made some revisions to this 3080 model, maybe using better thermal pads, for the memory temp to run so low. I have a GXT and TUF 3080 and I have to keep the memory @ -502 Mhz to get the temp down to only 96c.

Hey man, great video. My 3080 has only 2 ports, so 1 PCIe cable will go there. For the riser I am using a splitter. Can I use one end of the splitter to source 1 riser, and other end to source the riser of another GPU?

Hey guys i mine with 3080s too, and one of them ( happens to be ftw3 too) has its hashrate all around 94-96, while the others are rock stable at 96.64. What causes that? i changed the risers, pcie slots, oc (only 1800/1700 oc on mem under hiveos)

Hi everyone, am setting up a rig with 2 evga 1600w psu's and evga seems to have not 24pin slots they have 18+10, 24pin splitters won't help, or i need a motherboard board with 2x 24 pin slots? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You mention in your video that your splitters are 16awg, but then your link for the suggested splitters are 18awg. Can you link some splitters that are 16awg that would work for powering the 3080s?
run that gpu on stock setting and let accepted one share after that you can apply your oc settings ..... u can do on hiveOS and put delay on oc settings put 3 to 4 min delay on oc setting in hiveOS it will fix it EZ

Wow I remember this. RPM, this would of been much faster if you pressed CTRL+F on afterburner. Then you could literally lock core at desired voltage and frequency very precisely. I never see anyone using this feature. Press CTRL+L to lock and hit checkmark. Or create your own curve.
I don’t know if anyone is gonna read this but here it goes. I recently got 4 gpus ( all 3080 ftws) for some reason the motherboard only detects three at a time, it won’t detect the fourth no matter what. I tried everything in the bios settings from 4g decoding to switching the generations but still nothing. Is there anything I am missing? Ps: i tried the gpus separately and the risers they all work perfectly.
I was following your video to build a coin minng rig. I have connected motherboard, CPU, PSU with the proper cables. when I turn on the device, I saw a light on the board but fans for power suply and CPU were not working. Thermal Pad upgrade, my 3080 went from 106 to 84, there's a ton of tutorials on how to do it. My Vision 3080 took about 20 minutes to do, future cards should take like 10 minutes.

When you use the 2 power supplies why connect the CPU and 24 pin from one psu and then just the 24 pin from the second psu via the adaptor?

thought the power draw for 3080s when mining is around 230 watts for efficiency. Why you allow for 450 watts?

Please, Red Panda, explain if this Driver problem is connected only with the 3060 cards, or the same goes to the other cards like 1660, 1660 TI, 3070, 3080? I am asking because I saw many of your videos and for 3060 you use the x16 ports only, but for these 3080 cards, you can use x1, x4, x8, and x16 PCI ports? Whys is that? Please explain. Thank you!

Thermal Pad upgrade, my 3080 went from 106 to 84, there's a ton of tutorials on how to do it. My Vision 3080 took about 20 minutes to do, future cards should take like 10 minutes.
