I can tell a lot of people never took the time to learn how to use Edison or the advantages. By recording in Edison it does not save audio on your hard drive until you decide to drag out the final recording, helps save space. Which is really helpful. Also when you have the snap setting on the grid, it snaps into perfect timing. It's not that difficult to use at all. Also, you can record multiple takes without stopping, and cycle through your recordings later and pick the best version. Many benefits, hope this clears things up for curious people.
8:46 Edison is still good for recording. I don't use it that often, but you can. The trick is, to the right of the record button there's a drop down menu. Select ON PLAY and hit the record button. What that does is whenever you start playback in pattern or song mode, edison will start recording whatever is linked to that mixer track... and will automatically add song jump markers at every loop (best results if you set your loop in the playlist before you hit playback)
Once you are finished, you can double-click on a marker to highlight that section. Then in the upper right (2nd from the last tool) use the DRAG/COPY SELECTION tool to drap the recording to the Playlist or a Sample channel.
The benefit is that you don't have a bunch of audio tracks (Files) created and auto saved (to your laptop) that you never use... and have to remember to go back and delete to save storage space. Edison does save anything until you drag it out. @LarryOhh
@@LarryOhh. how you be so miss represent another persons work flow. There are advantages to using Edison to record. But you miss represent the process. Shameful it came from you. Edison sink with your project . i pray u present those options and dont mock somebody for using it.😢😢😢
loops cant catch true music bcs some notes in songs start before zero time of loop start or dont sound right ....loops make u sort offa invalid if u get used to making music only from loops, ppl who dont play instruments usually using it ...well, its good for some electronic techno music but for pop rock and other styles its almost imposible
Im not even an fl studio user like that but Im 1000% sure that if you change the on input to on play it will start in sync with the playhead. It will line up perfectly. but I feel you tho. Just record on the playlist ..
The one directly under the one they chose to drag the audio out of Edison. The other button will drop it, in time, where ever you want it in the track. Edison is flames.
Granulizer 🤒🤒 Btw new fan of the show! Just started watching a week ago and this is right up there with the Audio Nerds for me 😂 appreciate the game guys 🥁
If I’m recording myself I’m def using Edison. Saves the most time for me cause I can do multiple takes then comp them if I need to. I use fl 11 and it starts recording once a sound goes into the mic you don’t have to press play after you arm it
I knew about the preset chains. I have been making preset chains since 21.0. Def a game changer. I use them for specific artist that I record. I will create their chain and use it for them specifically and make adjustments where needed.
i'm not using Edison for recording ....gave up on fixing audio right away ...only thing why i tryd to use it is to denoise ....and its not working right ....and i got tyred of tryn to figure it out .....i hade better control over denoising 20 years ago 😅 ...maybe its just me ....posibble
Hey Larry Ohh can you make a tutorial on Live Looping and silent loops for a live show? It’s because I see a lot of Ableton guys do it, but I’m sure it’s possible on fl studio as well. Here’s some links on what I’m talking about :) lmk if you can thanks for the awesome content. Thank you for informing me about the Granulizer.
"It Granulizes" 🤣🤣
You can go into plugin settings and route the output to an input track on the mixer. That’s my preferred way rather than Edison

Click the chain link on edison Next to the loop playback button, to record in sync
There is a button right under the dragndrop which drop it automatically to where it should be
The one directly under the one they chose to drag the audio out of Edison. The other button will drop it, in time, where ever you want it in the track. Edison is flames.
Love the podcast! Just a suggestion, why not make a track together for the opening, or have a competition for your listeners?
So easy to Edison to Playlist an have it line up lmao
The presets in the mixer have always been there.. well as long as I can remember now.. I’ve h/d fl since it was fruity loops 😂
18:18 you have to select that "Copy used samples to the project folder" option to it to do what you're talking about there.
