It's a trade off. They eat some baby shrimp but you hopefully will find some female badis to keep them breeding. You do what you have to do with the tanks you have available. 👍💕👍
For the badis, could you have all in one tank then remove the dominant male to a 2nd tank. Then see which one becomes the new dominant male, then remove him and put him with the 1st male and repeat this process until non of them colour up and become the dominant male any more meaning your only left with the females
Ive tried it, but often times the co-dominate will take over, but the females dont seem to go for him once theyve seen "the real deal"...kinda odd...ill try it on their female fry again though...maybe that would work
small correction - Badis are Anabantiformes not in Cyprinidae - they are more related to Gourami , Anabas, Betta, macropodus, even Channa - very interesting channel
Thank you kindly! They sure are. I think i grouped them with the SE Asian fish all over the same tank, and since they get listed together in the order section for fish wholesale resellers. But yes, it makes lots of sense if you look up what type of shallow little ponds they live in. And that they can live in mucky and silty water, but gulp from the water level when they are in a situation- like reorganizing a tank and making it murky
Hey, what do you think about panda loaches and pea puffers? I was thinking on a group of 4 puffers an maybe 4-5 loaches, since now I only have 2,but I'm looking forward to breeding them. Now I've got them in a 40 l with some shrimp and guppys
Panda loaches are 100% peaceful and the pea puffers will stress them out a lot, plus the protein and meat died of puffers cause a ton of ammonia and nitrates, and panda loaches want very clean gentle moving water
@@Fishtorywell thanks, I researched this topic and I'm going to make a river like habitat with low Temps, though it gets really hot in summer here. Any tips? Also, I might have 4 puffers in a heavily planted 40 liter and some guppy there, they will probably live well as they can hide almost anywhere
How old do the panda loaches have to be to sex them? I have 4 that I got about 10 months ago as juveniles, and they seem like they've been fully grown for a few months now. A couple are fatter than the others, but none of them have snakeskin markings on their faces, so maybe I have all females... Also, do you now how long they live?
I dont know their life span, but my oldest ones make it to 2 or 3 ...i assume 4 or 5 is maximum. And getting them to breed is very very tricky... with 12 fish in 2 colonies I've only had 5 babies born....3 make it from the egg sac fry phase, and only 1 grown up
Replay crew, watch them all!
Thank you
I've been waiting for Lucas' shrimp to come back in stock for a while now, sounds like he'll have some soon, fingers crossed for that.

👍💕👍
I just lost a bunch of cherry shrimp to my badis, I hope I can find some females! I wondered if they were eating- they were. 😑
Love this tank,! I wish you would have shown more of the plecos.
I will make sure and feature all of my pleco species again soon! Thanks for watching

What sort of footprint would a badis pair need to be self sufficient?
Ive kept trios in 2.5 gallons but a 5 gallon is ideal

AWESOME info...🤘🤘
Thank yuh!
For the algorithm!!
The panda loaches are so cool, I don’t think you can get them here.🤘
Super hard to find here also...usually only 1 shipment in the spring
Apple snails
Easier to breed Daphnia, cyclops, seed shrimps, and fairy shrimps to feed the Badis and the panda garas.
Yeah it probably is, but ive always loved colony breeding several critters even at the expense of my monetary profits

what are panda breeding water parameters?
Yeah, same question.
Acidic
And clean
my ph is 6.2-6.4 dkh 2.5-3 gh3-4 is that "acidic" enough
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
If anyone has the hook-up for female badis let us know!
Usually I do...but im low at the moment

1 year or so...when the black and white stripes turn to a chain link of diamond shaped pattern
