Dave, thank you so much for the shoutout. I still have a lot to learn about Whatnot but the best way is to learn by doing. Your followers are so kind. Many have left comments or sent me messages telling me not to be discouraged by the results of my first show. Thank you all for your support.
You can not sell the chanel earrings. If they are fake, you list them, they will take it down and give you a vero. No fakes are allowed to be sold, even if you state they are not real.
To be brutally honest with you, I'd recommend that you stay away from jewelry. To sell it and limit your returns you need to take detailed close up photos and lots of them. Taking a few shots from a few feet away without a lightbox and not even cropping them will severely limit your sales imo.
Embarrassing “Dad”. This made me laugh really hard because my 15 year old nephew is the same and I was as that age. My nephew thinks all adults are embarrassing.😆
It's the old jewelry guys and the old record guys. Always the first ones to show up to the garage sale and get upset when you know the price of our items and can't get a deal.
You have every right to feel let down if you dont score inventory even when sitting on alot because as resellers or humans in general we are investing our time and bodies, being on our feet all day takes a toll. Keep grinding your doing great!
Dave it is illegal to sell anything that is fake! Those Chanel earrings, don’t sell them unless you have them authenticated and they are 100% real. It’s just trouble waiting to happen.
Since u asked Dave on how our shops are going, well I went to a garage sale and a flea market and bought all their funko pops at a low price and now I'm in the profit zone by selling them in person and on Mecari 😌
Costume jewelry has it's ups and downs. Sometimes it sells quickly and sometimes it just sits. It's a nice staple to just have in your inventory it you don't mind it sitting. Once someone knows you sell it they will come back for more. There is a resurgence on older style jewelry.
Nice thing about jewelry, it doesn't take up much space, so even if it takes a minute you aren't losing storage real estate. And if you get too impatient you have Kat not far away, meet up at a flea and she can sell on whatnot. OR get Tina/Anna to do jewelry on whatnot.
Dave - first of all, DON'T mess with Chanel. They are vicious. Second, jewelry is my primary business - vintage costume. I live down the road from you in Deland. It is almost impossible to find here. Too many dealers up at 5am grabbing it all. That said, it is great to sell. It takes no room to store and light to ship. The ROI can be incredible. Some costume jewelry is worth more than fine jewelry. If you want to learn - hit me up. Been selling it for 20+ years. Good luck!
Those Deluxe Scrabble boards used to be worth more, but these days you can make more parting it out than selling the whole thing. In the last 2 weeks I've sold the letters for $15 and the board for $25 by itself.
Every time my wife and I are at a yard sale and I lowball them with an offer, my wife just says “Savage” under her voice. Worth lowballing just for that 😂
At least it wasn’t Tornadoes! 🌪️ I’m from Oklahoma City, and OMG we had 20+ on the ground tornadoes Saturday and a town in Sulpher OK, was literally flattened! Thank God, only four people died because the news stations were on it all day and we had so much I had of time warnings!😮
So true, I have family in FL + it’s weird how many quick ‘sun showers’ I saw. Where I am tho, it started pouring around midnight + there was no rain in the forecast, so the news ppl got paid for being wrong 😊. Sorry ab the tornadoes 🥺
I worked high end luxury and the Chanel earrings look real most luxury retailers like Chanel Louis Vuitton Gucci Fendi make costume jewelry that eventually tarnish a bit but the reason I think they are real is fake ones will usually not brand it in the back because those earrings are vintage I would go to someone that can authentic for you…I found a pair of costume Chanel earrings I got them authenticated and sold them on the real real for 2k
If it’s fake I wouldn’t risk any of your selling platform accounts. Fakes are illegal to sell technically. It’s not a dupe as that would be something similar but doesn’t say “Chanel.” Even saying I’m not sure if authentic isn’t worth it.
I was at a sale recently and saw a box full of vintage glass doorknobs but I was looking through another box at the moment then someone came in the room and we started talking…needless to say I forgot about them😢😢
Was your Scrabble deluxe, the one with the turntable? Weird, but/c last one I sold , it sold for $65 plus shipping on Mercari. I wonder on some of the really cool things you find, especially from your childhood.. that in the back of your mind.. you think, “ I really wouldn’t hate it if this item didn’t sell because it’s so cool❤ I do that, if it’s from late 60’s thru the 80”s and I had it as a child, or really wanted it as a child.. I buy it. Because my inner child is thinking, how cool is this and it’s not gonna kill me if I didn’t sell because I like it so much.🤗 and I can save it for my grandkids!
Knowledge is power its up to you personally to do the research. I personally have some high value items I keep in a designated location for more research and my options to selling for top dollar.
It was a tad upsetting when you said your son felt you are embarrassing. You are a wonderful father, and your kids should be thankful they have such caring parents. Hopefully, they realize that.
Hey Dave, those earrings not real. You can even see if you pause the video one earring actually is turning some green right at the bottom, which real ones would not do that. I still think you can make some for non genuine ones though. Good luck on your hunt 👍
Even listing stuff as faux will get taken down . I’ve tried with some Burberry stuff and they’ll be up for a couple days then get taken down from my experience
That’s definitely forbidden in eBay’s policies. Using a brand name to compare your not-brand name. There’s a word for the practice, but I can’t remember what it is. But forbidden for sure.
Maybe What Not will let you do the demo discussion of that platform AND then let you promote your upcoming personal What Not auction (with date and time).
I LOVE THEM. They're 100% costume but anything Chanel is over $200 Retail nowadays. In the 80s they were only like 30-50$. They're Real , just not Real anything. And so sometimes you can still find a Good deal, like givenchy or Chanel, dior Costume stuff for a deal cuz the sellers are older and remember what they paid Orig. BUT with inflation and the World knowing name brands, I find its getting harder and harder to buy Any Costume under $50. So yea, I'm not sure if that helped. Lol. I would say if you want to Move it Fast $250 Is Not the Number. I'd say 50-100 is prob a more realistic number but if you want to sit on it, someone will prob bite for 250 eventually Just my 2 cents. Ebay was slow last week, posh was good I find its one or the other. Can't balance it out. Lol. I missed what you paid!!
I've been selling Octonauts for about 4 years. I first learned about them from Raikens friend Vinny, the toy expert. Prices have dropped ever since the toys have been reproduced.
I could certainly use a dedicated video on how to sell on WhatNot. I’ve been approved for a year and keep procrastinating while I make room and organize inventory. Then they’ll change something on shipping or procedures, and I can’t keep ahead of the know how to start. If you do one, please do it for absolute beginner idiots like me step by step. Thanks!
I love costume jewelry. The sell through rate is slow unless it is unique or rare. I could look through and research it all day everyday. It is so difficult in my area to get it at a reasonable cost. Good luck.
I’m noticing when you speculate the price of items you are posting-you might shoot for at least 5 to 10 % higher cause you often say you probably could have sold it for more 😊
I sold a few faux items before on E.. saying its used damaged when its not.. I placed one on bid and the price ran so high! I had to not give it to the highest bidder and choose a random middle tier winner. I would say CC and not say the name. E might take it down. This Sun I did good for some reason 10 solds almost 1k! All legit items. I did more golf gear because of your channel with clubs.
Dave, u just can't call loose Barbie DOLLS action figures, lol. U said u sold a loose Barbie action figure, and I must correct u. They're dolls. I know ur a dude and action figures are cooler, but Barbies are dolls. Ok then ✌️💜✌️💜
Hey Dave,Make sure you put Chanel Style are faux. I had a pair taken down this weekend. I bought them at a church sale they had 925 on back no Chanel mark. It looked like someone custom made a pair of Chanel Buttons and made them into earrings. I might take them apart to see if the button part has Chanel on it. I won’t re list them. No matter.
I am not sure if they are fake or not but I would just put Chanel? And I would put them for auction put the starting bid around 25 or 30 and then let the people decide that they’re bidding on them if they are real or not.
Dave i grew up in new port Richey and Hudson Florida cant count on weather apps or weather men it will just rain wherever and whenever and almost always after 12 pm . and could rain at your neighbors but not at your house . as far as the earrings or any jewelry if its fake or if in doubt do not list it you can get in serious trouble not worth it
That’s not necessarily what those guys are looking for , some of those guys are looking for good vintage costume jewelry that is signed and some of those pieces can be as good in prices , if not better than some real gold or sterling silver, and a lot of those people know exactly what they’re looking for . I’ve been watching a vintage jewelry lady who buys great expensive vintage jewelry and keeps some and sell some.
Hi Dave, Like your Videos! ❤ Can you please always add your eBay store link in the info or in the Comments section for new subscribers. 🙂🎉 Do you know any eBay jewelery sellers? That you could ask..

Jewelry is what I focus on. Small storage space and great ROI.
Embarrassing “Dad”. This made me laugh really hard because my 15 year old nephew is the same and I was as that age. My nephew thinks all adults are embarrassing.😆

Dave what I know about Florida is you have to be expecting rain even if it's not predicted
Costume jewelry has it's ups and downs. Sometimes it sells quickly and sometimes it just sits. It's a nice staple to just have in your inventory it you don't mind it sitting. Once someone knows you sell it they will come back for more. There is a resurgence on older style jewelry.
There are the "people of the yard sale" the jewelry guy, the video game guy, the tool guy etc.
Nice thing about jewelry, it doesn't take up much space, so even if it takes a minute you aren't losing storage real estate.

I've made a couple of sales this week and gearing up for a sale I am doing on Saturday.
I am slowly learning. Thanks for your videos!
You should wear the Chanel earrings and match them with the red tote bag. It’s your color.
always check the prices for oem and after market cables when selling 200 dollar items then decide discout or buy replacement
Dave, you have a ton of inventory in your garage, you don’t need anymore
Umm a dedicated what not video. Sounds very commonwealth-esque 😂
We all have flops man, got to brush it off and jump back into it.. ;)
Every time my wife and I are at a yard sale and I lowball them with an offer, my wife just says “Savage” under her voice.
Worth lowballing just for that 😂
Haha
Oh Barbies sell well, oh if they do! Especially from 60s-80s.
Mercari now has a new built in AI eBay listings import tool that's in beta testing. You won't need to pay vendoo anymore soon 😊
Yeah, but will it delist on either platform if an item sells? My guess is no.
@@cguido1275 that's not worth $60 a month to me
"And all of a sudden there was a torrential downpour out of nowhere." Welcome to Florida.

Cool, I’ve got some of those clear door knobs that I was going to craft with “someday”. I think I’ll go ahead and list them now. Thank you.
Nice

It depends on what kind of jewelry you’re putting on eBay, my friend sells costume jewelry on eBay all of the time
No problem as long as it doesn't have a brand on it. I craft with costume jewelry.😊
Same in auctions in the uk
Welcome to my crazy world Dave
Take the Chanel earrings into a reputable jeweler. See what they tell you.
If it’s fake I wouldn’t risk any of your selling platform accounts. Fakes are illegal to sell technically. It’s not a dupe as that would be something similar but doesn’t say “Chanel.” Even saying I’m not sure if authentic isn’t worth it.
Great guess on those glass doorknobs! They’re a BOLO. Do some comps! Just call them knobs, not handles.
Thanks
I was at a sale recently and saw a box full of vintage glass doorknobs but I was looking through another box at the moment then someone came in the room and we started talking…needless to say I forgot about them😢😢

New England is ramping up there were sooo many yard sales in RI this weekend. But I only sourced with my Facebook group.
Sadly it is the way with youngsters these days. They’ll appreciate you when they reach their late twenties probably.
Please don't sell anything you think might be fake - it devalues the brand and floods the market with crap and it could get your account suspended.
Im just starting out, I really need to do more videos to attract more people. I love your videos thank you, as I have learned alot from you.
Hey Dave, those earrings not real. You can even see if you pause the video one earring actually is turning some green right at the bottom, which real ones would not do that. I still think you can make some for non genuine ones though. Good luck on your hunt 👍

@jochildress5003 I believe the term you are looking for is key word spamming. Selling a counterfeit and key word spamming is double whammy lol
I'd be concerned about the Channel 'knock-offs" - seems ripe for VERO risk.
Love the videos. Keep up the great work!
Cheers, Julien
You’re not allowed to sell counterfeit items on eBay.
I think to sell knock offs even if you disclose they are fake isn’t kosher but I could be wrong. I am sure someone would still buy them though.
Maybe What Not will let you do the demo discussion of that platform AND then let you promote your upcoming personal What Not auction (with date and time).

20:53 Dave's Math :) 66.67% right? (2 out of 3).
Cheers,
Julien
The channel earrings would be called a reproduction. I rarely find jewelry at garage sales. I would only sell that if I did.
Had a couple bad days in a row of sourcing last week, it was brutal
I've been selling Octonauts for about 4 years. I first learned about them from Raikens friend Vinny, the toy expert. Prices have dropped ever since the toys have been reproduced.
Thanks for another great video
If you're not sure if it's legit. I wouldn't mess with it. They can suspend your account. It's up to you
Do not sell replicas. Against Ebay TOS.
Thanks!
eBay business is doing well. Thanks for asking!
Enjoy your ramble Dave. 😊
Always enjoy !
I love costume jewelry. The sell through rate is slow unless it is unique or rare. I could look through and research it all day everyday. It is so difficult in my area to get it at a reasonable cost. Good luck.
Hi, it's dave. Back in the grrrodge.
Don’t sell the fake they will get you in big trouble
As long as you tell the people that they aren’t real Chanel
Do a what not jewelry sale😊
I’m noticing when you speculate the price of items you are posting-you might shoot for at least 5 to 10 % higher cause you often say you probably could have sold it for more 😊
They look fake
Clips on are hard to find
Had that Barbie doll I think I got it still
Hi Dave and family!❤😊😊
Hi
Hey Oh!!
I sold a few faux items before on E.. saying its used damaged when its not.. I placed one on bid and the price ran so high! I’m still not sold on cross listing. You’ve had to cancel a bunch of orders and that is one of your worst things for your seller rating.
I prefer estate auctions...I think it's usually a better profit margin
How's the storage container going.... empty yet?
I had my first sale on Mercari last week. I just don’t like the idea that the buyer has to rate you before you are paid.
If they don't rate you in 3 days Mercari will automatically give a good rating
Sold one door knob a while ago £10
Dave, u just can't call loose Barbie DOLLS action figures, lol. U said u sold a loose Barbie action figure, and I must correct u. They're dolls. I know ur a dude and action figures are cooler, but Barbies are dolls. Ok then ✌️💜✌️💜

I love them to wear
Hi, Dave
If you need advice Dave I will help you
Thanks
No some jewellery is not fake
Cancel then sold sweet
I am not sure if they are fake or not but I would just put Chanel? And I would put them for auction put the starting bid around 25 or 30 and then let the people decide that they’re bidding on them if they are real or not.
Thank me later.
The title is clickbait
24:11
Based on the comments it is actually a fake, so not clickbait
First!

Glad you are learning jewelry. I have two totes and look forward to seeing how you do
