Thank You Gurkhas for your solidarity, expertise, exemplary fighting skills and knowledge and experience throughout the Ages. God Bless You One and All.
Wow... what an honour to be watching The Gurkhas... Known to have a reputation of being amongst one of the finest and most feared soldiers in the world within the British Army.💯
The Grenadiers they are not. But supreme and unparalleled fighting men they are. Thank you for being a part of us, you Gurkhas. We love and cherish you.
❤ The Gurkhas have a fearsome reputation for bravery and courage. Lucky people to see some of them in the flesh. I have a great deal of respect for them and all our armed service personnel. ❤ x
How fit and healthy must they be to march that fast and to play brass wind instruments. Gurkhas are astonishing in the fighting ability, just amazing all round!!
That's not true! It is a complex issue that is not all the doing of the British Govt. It has a lot to do with the Nepalese Govt and their economy as well many other factors. Just Google a question about Gurkha pensions and benefits and see what comes back.
It’s always a pleasure to see the Gurkhas .. although I feel they are not the best musicians in the world they are most certainly the most feared fighters in the world … their professionalism is off the scale and their turnout is always immaculate …thank goodness they are a part of the British army…
My thoughts are that traditionally they are not very tall so they have shorter legs therefore strides taken are smaller and are able to move faster. Hopefully someone may know how they manage
All the Rifle regiments march at that speed, it stems from when light infantry regiments wete formed and they marched at a faster pace to get to the battle quicker, they would march at this pace and fight a battle at the end. On a side not, Rifle regiments carried rifles which were shorter than muskets, so they carried a sword bayonet which was longer so it Brought it up to the same length as a musket with bayonet, to this day Rifle regiments fix swords instead of bayonets.
Love the Gurkhas, our father was stationed with them in India during WW11 and was presented a Kukri knife by them, he never told us why. I also had the pleasure of working with many of these guys at Heathrow Airport, they were always hard working and respectful.
I think they march at light infantry pace 140 beats per minute and are probably the only light infantry to retain this. Whereas 120 beats per minute for regular infantry.
Just check the pace on Google and this is the answer, "Rifle regiments including the Gurkhas march at 140paces a minute. This is traditional, like so many things in the British Army, because light infantry troops were expected to move faster than normal infantry".
What a joy to watch the Gurkhas marching through london kind considerate happy people indeed thank god they stand with us ,because you would not want them as a enemy thats for sure

These are the Queens Gurkha Engineers who are currently performing the Changing. The Band will be the band of the Brigade of Gurkhas.
The bravest of the brave. Elite soldiers who have fought with us for centuries

Actually they're not special 🙄
They are lovely people kind, trustworthy, and funny.
I’d rather have a million Gurkhas living in this country than you know who !!
❤ The Gurkhas have a fearsome reputation for bravery and courage. Lucky people to see some of them in the flesh. I have a great deal of respect for them and all our armed service personnel. ❤ x
My Father always maintained Gurkhas were formidable fighters Japanese were terrified of them.
!
So was Argentina when we invaded. They heard the Gurkhas were on the way and they started to surrender.😂😂😂
How fit and healthy must they be to march that fast and to play brass wind instruments. Gurkhas are astonishing in the fighting ability, just amazing all round!!
Brilliant soldiers. Shame Uk has not always treated them with the respect they deserve.

Maybe not, but their lungs are excellent!...Do you know how hard this?
@@margaretflounders8510 I only know a few musicians and they all play the pipes.
@@kimberleyelizabethbailes-ql9qk The Buglers of the Rifles have to blow a bugle at that pace and sometimes at the Double.
You should try playing an instrument while marching at the pace these guys do, it's not easy you've seen the rest and these guys are the best,
@@Richard500 not easy. Respect to all musicians who have to play whilst marching.
We are so lucky to have this. Those lovely horses too. Thank you.
The only reason I'd go to London, would be to watch the Military we have..God bless all of them......
Great soldiers. We salute you.
They really picked up the pace in the second half! I’ll bet they’re a sight to see on the battlefield.
Sorry did I miss the " frozen in shock " moment? . Nice to watch the soldiers great group of men !
Sorry I’ve only just got over the shock of soldiers marching to a band….

So proud of our gurkas 🇬🇧
Absolutely wonderful 🇳🇿
I love how the people walking at the side taking photographs are doing it in double time.
How do they keep up that speed? Awesome.

@@kimberleyelizabethbailes-ql9qknonsense, all the LI have traditionally marched at that pace.
@@johnnunn8688 no need to be so rude.
@@kimberleyelizabethbailes-ql9qk no need for you to be so heightist; Gurkhas can’t help where they come from.
A proper pace, The Light Division Pace. SWIFT AND BOLD.
Love the Gurkhas, our father was stationed with them in India during WW11 and was presented a Kukri knife by them, he never told us why. I also had the pleasure of working with many of these guys at Heathrow Airport, they were always hard working and respectful.
They certainly March at a good clip! 🎉
The tempo was so fast that I nearly became out of breath.😅
I think they march at light infantry pace 140 beats per minute and are probably the only light infantry to retain this. Whereas 120 beats per minute for regular infantry.
Probably coming from a high altitude helps.
Someone told me that when the Ghurkas removed their knives,in The Falklands , the Argentine army gave up.
Best of the best
THE GURKHAS!!!!!!!!! (i think)
They are the The Queens Gurkha Engineers. The band is from the Brigade of Gurkhas
I think they are the fastest marchers, about 160steps a minute, but dont quote me,but im sure I've read it in my dark and distant 80year old past.
Just check the pace on Google and this is the answer, "Rifle regiments including the Gurkhas march at 140paces a minute. This is traditional, like so many things in the British Army, because light infantry troops were expected to move faster than normal infantry".
Wonderful ❤
Keeping up with these folk will help you to keep fit. & they are playing too!
They march at a fast beat.
Standard light infantry pace ! As with other British regiments
How wonderful to see the Gurkha's in full regalia again!! Their Bravery knows no bounds! 🇳🇿❤❤
Indeed😮. Marching + playing a musical instrument in this perfection is a great performance.
This is true dedication
Amazing.
May I have the list of marches played?
Thank you very much 😀👍
✨️💛
missed the shock and blown away.
Wow! They’re marching at quite a clip! Very polished performance!
The ever wonderful Ghurkas!
Ayo Gorkhali
Never mind this show get these soldiers patrolling our border. That’s their job after all keeping 🇬🇧 safe??????
Yes, your 100% right it's the Gurkhas
Just a shame they are treated like shit when army life is over
Just like any service personnel. They deserve better
Talking about a quick march
No other unit wants to March with the LI!
They appear to be marching in shoes rather than boots. Anyone can comment please.
Yes, better with ammo boots on, studded of course.
Only an American would be “frozen in shock” ! Please keep the hyperbolic comments to a minimum.
140 paces to the minute
What a joy to watch the Gurkhas marching through london kind considerate happy people indeed thank god they stand with us ,because you would not want them as a enemy thats for sure
Trustworthy, honest, true and faithful. You have a friend if you know a ghurka. Thank you gentlemen, my dear old dad was right they are the best
I believe they march at 160 paces a minute, to the regulation 120 paces per minute of the guards 💂♂️ division
It's 140 to the minute the same as the Rifles (however the march at the "double" may be 160)
@@Richard500 thanks buddy I wasn't quite sure
Cela ne doit pas être facile faire musique et marcher à cette vitesse 😊
