I just realized after watching this, that he wasn't speaking funny in the first episode. An inconsistency I noticed is that when he takes a human form (he appeared as Asta to hide from the sheriff and deputy and when he took the form of a spanish guy when he stepped thru the portal in the future) it wasn't painful for him like it was in this episode. Also, anyone else get Denzel Washington vibes from the guy playing the sheriff?
I know he used a alien power orb to transform into asta. Maybe he learned how to do it faster over thousands of years for the Spanish guy. Or randomness. Maybe they didn't want to make a painful animation for the Spanish guy. 🤷♀️ But yeah it was a bit odd considering the pilot.

Just found out about this series and binge watched all of season 1 and 2 episodes into season 2 and I highly recommend spending your time watching it.

Absolutely. Corey's (Sheriff Mike) voice sounds A LOT like Denzel's.
Pilot episodes generally don't completely align with the rest of a series.
