Hello! I snooped around libmelee and tried a couple controller config options in slippi, and it doesn't seem to want the human controller to allow a keyboard. Is that intentional or am I doing something wrong?

Also it seems like when you configure the buttons at all once the app starts then it crashes when closed to save. Any ideas how to fix? I don't have a GC_adapter so I'm trying to just use the keyboard or my bluetooth pro controller (decent alternative to wavebird!). Using STANDARD controller type is a little tricky so far bc of the crashing.

​@@TheGizmoTruck yo, only a little late, but I found a workaround for this problem.
1) Open your dolphin regularly (without the bot), and ensure that your controller is setup properly when using "Standard Controller"
2) Keep note of the device name in the top left corner from the configuration window
2) Go to your Libmelee source folder and edit "console.py"
3) Find the following line (you can search for it with ctrl + f)
config.set(section, "Device", "XInput2/0/Virtual core pointer")
4) Replace the device name with whatever you plan to use, for example for keyboard mouse, we would do the following
config.set(section, "Device", "DInput/0/Keyboard Mouse")
5) Now run your bot, and it should open up dolphin
6) Open the controllers tab, and change your controller to use "Standard Controller" in the menu. However, do NOT press the "configure" as exiting the configure windows seems to always crash the bot. No worries though, as the configuration should be the same as how you had set it up from Step 1.
7) Run your Melee iso, and everything should be good

I need help, I really really wanna get into coding for melee, but python is not something I'm familiar with at all and I still can't get smashbot to run.
i've tried doing everything right, but i feel like something's missing that i just can't find, i have no idea what i'm doing wrong
i've pip installed melee through the command prompt, i've typed in "python3 smashbot.py -e 'c:\...'" and then when that didn't work i looked through the code to see if maybe i just needed to type it into the code itself, but i couldn't find anything

I'm new to coding so I'm not sure about what I'm saying.
I putted example.py in my users file (For me it's C:\Users\Felix\) because that's where the command promt was looking for the file.
I wrote python3 ./example.py -e /Users/Felix/Desktop/SmashbotSlippi and it worked.

I struggle for this to so in case you need help for the pip install I'll explain what I did.
In command prompt you can do pip or pip help to see if it's already installed, if not they'll send a link.
Then do pip3 install melee and you should be good.
