My Dad passed just a couple of weeks ago. Diagnosed with cancer too late and he was too young. He only lasted 3 weeks. Mum , my siblings and I were there day and night. The last thing I said to Dad was ~ I love you Dad , you are my hero. I will see you tomorrow. He smiled. Tomorrow never came. We are all heartbroken 💔 I feel for my Mum. Married 49 years, Dad was her world . I watch this version on repeat and have a bloody good cry. Love you forever Dad ❤

There’s a moment in every gig/ performance you play when you know you’ve got the crowd, it’s that tipping point you can hear a pin drop in the room and that moment is very humbling for all involved, the musicians and the audience - great song choice, great acoustic guitarist, great voice control. Delivered and executed perfectly. Massive props for going along with the jokes, he knew all along his capabilities and what a humble man. Played those judges well.
I come back and watch this every so often. Not only a beautiful performance of a beautiful song. But also an important reminder to never judge a book by it's cover. His performance is pure, raw emotion from the heart.

It's actually not just the superb voice that brought him up (I mean, the voice is really magnificent). But it's also the excellent guitar playing. The way he plays with those notes, he really deserved all the respect he got at the end and none of the judging laughs he got at the beginning.

Contrary to what most think it’s very hard to pair a musician with an instrument that really compliments their voice and style, and yes while an acoustic guitar is commonly used in country music, very few artists have a voice that actually RESONATE with the sound of said guitar. Most use it as a background like filler but he used it in equal part with his voice in such a way it was, for lack of a better way to put it, honestly romantic. The sound of his voice and the sound of his guitar meshed absolutely perfectly together
