Thanks for the review ,many of the houses along that road have retro horizontal blinds theme in the windows all the way to Birmingham from the 80s, I Remember lookin out of the car window as a kid on way up brum road and counting them lol .I always thought they were posh. I still see them now but there are not as many these days . Sign of the times .. respect , subbed 😎💯👍🏽
@@MrDaiseymay Agree, the Pheasey estate has stood the test of time very well, still a place people want to live and many are second or third generation now. I just wish our government would repeat that model and build big quality estates for rental like they did back then.....it works!!
Great Barr and Kingstanding, born nearby diring the WAR, We left the city when I was twelve. But can remember all the cinemas, and the Pubs my dad and uncles went to. The Scott Arms was a regular. It's very sad to hear of the destruction of some of these monuments to an age. Thanks for remembering them
I was born in Great Barr and now live in Devon and Great barr is still not a bad place really, infact it hasnt really changed much at all in the 32 years I have been away, my brother and his lovely family have lived in the area all their lives and havent really had any problems worth mentioning. We are moving back to Brum soon and to be honest, I could live in Great barr even now, but I think we will be a be moving a bit more towards Streetly area, but I still say Great barr is OK. Perry Barr is looking alot better than it used to, not sure what it would be like to live there though, I was amazed how big Perry Hall Park is when I went there recently, strangely I never really went there when I was a kid, but its a great park, and not far from where you were at the end is Red House park, another nice one. Birmingham has alot of very nice big parks which many other cities and towns just dont have.
I didn’t even know there was a park down Perry Barr thanks for the info will be looking to see down there again and I done a video down there but there’s a lot to f new buildings down there because they did close a lot of old businesses to rebuild and improve the area but thanks again for watching 🙏🏿🇯🇲🇬🇧
@@KingFire220 Yep its massive, head up from Perry Barr on the Walsall Rd towards Scott arms, on the right is Perry Barr Park with the Alexander Stadium, but on the left opposite behind the houses is Perry Hall park, its huge, nobody ever seems to be in it!!!! take a look, would make a good video I reckon
The massive Pheasey estate has stood the test of time, all those semis have remained decent places to live, well built with gardens, now no longer council houses, but I just wish our government would build big quality council estates for rent like they did with places like the Pheasey estate
