Not sure how to pick my favorite part.. The Monarch is the perfect representation for all the transformations in the film. From the coffee farm and the birth of their farm to the story of recovery for Kelani (love IZ he was amazing ) to the blooming of Joshua, much like the chrysalis to the opening of a butterfly. What a wonderful group of stories on the beautiful islands of Hawaii. Truely heartwarming and inspiring. Thank you for sharing.

I’m watching for the second time because I know I missed a lot! Here’s what I came away with so far: Family, determination, community, productive nostalgia, faith in their Creator and in themselves. And the butterflies are free.

Abby and Joshua fully embody the name and nature’s wonder of a Monarch Butterfly…AND Monarch Coffee! Just as the monarch butterfly emerges as a beautiful and wonderful miracle, so too, did Joshua, once fully understood, and given the opportunity to blossom and flourish! As an Uncle of an autistic niece, who worked incredibly hard to graduate High School, I too, am incredibly happy for Joshua and the whole Monarch family. * Hat tip to the cinematographer and the film production team! Gosh, that was a beautiful video!

My favorite part of this video is the story of Josh. I worked with several autistic children while teaching and also worked personally with a young man both at school and at home through the HOPE Group tutoring him and helping him to become independent and carry on with his life. I'm so glad that a doctor finally found Joshua's potential and captured it. I never expected to hear this story on a coffee video.

I love great coffee. That's why I am an Angelino's customer. enjoyed the entire youtube presentation. my favorite part was when Kirk related to all the hard work that i takes to harvest and produce the best coffee. When he said he spent many hours a day hand picking the fruits just like the girl from Monarch. This guy really knows the process and gets it. Very passionate and knows the entire process. Keep up the great work Kirk and I'll keep drinking your coffee!

The best part of this is Joshua finds his voice and his passion. I felt this within my entire being. I'm so happy for him. I've felt held back or shut in a box before and he has found a way to shine like he was meant to. Who would've known it was in the passion and comfort you can have for coffee. A coffee that comes with a story and one that has created a beautiful life. Using the earth to find a way, and within your natural resources have you found your purpose. All around a beautiful story.
I too enjoyed Kalani's story. The way he chose life over the past. He chose good over bad. And he can now share a beautiful experience with the youth. One that chooses life cause you've already been at the bottom at your lowest.
Thanks for sharing. Best wishes to all these families.

As I watched, I kept changing my mind on my favorite part. However, by the end, the Monarch butterfly became the perfect symbol and representation for the changes. Changes to growing coffee at a different elevation. Changes to pursue making better life choices. Changes to aid a young man becoming his best self. And through it all showing the importance of family!

Monarch Coffee was brought to life here, named after the butterflies - perfect representation.
Hats Off to Greg and Susy Stille's and the love for the Hawaiian Islands led them to start Monarch Coffee in Kona, Hawaii after discovering a coffee tree on a hike in Maui. They acquired vast knowledge of coffee through the process of growing and harvesting coffee cherries on their small farm, which eventually grew into a larger farm in Kona. They innovated by bringing the unique Gesha varietal to Hawaii, and their hard work and passion resulted in winning the Grand Champion First Place at the State of Hawaii Cupping Competition. Monarch Coffee has become a family legacy with their daughter and son-in-law taking over, and their grandson finding his purpose through involvement in the farm. The story is a testament to the power of family, commitment, and community.

The story was truly inspiring, heart warming and touching! It was lovely to see how Abby's Mom knew the moment she saw the Monarch Butterfly that that was the spot for their coffee farm! Then to see how Kalani made the changes he needed to become a wonderful Father and the ultimatum he faced and rose above it all to share his knowledge of his culture and share it among the kids. Then, Joshua...what an amazing journey that he and his family embarked on and came through with flying colors. Such an amazing young man!! Truly beautiful stories!

This story is so heartfelt❣️ Her father reminds me of my father he never gave up on anything either. The Monarch Butterflies are are perfect and my first word was butterfly (my father taught me how to say it every morning at 5am I would get up before he went to work and he would give me a plastic glass with a butterfly on it and he would say butterfly❤)
Her father has the best green thumb ever! This coffee is so Delicious.
I love how the farm has helped her son, it’s Amazing. The Whole Family Is Wonderful !
It gave me goosebumps when she was telling us the story about waiting to see if they placed in the competition and they Won 🏆

Having watched all of your travel videos, they are the perfect balance of presenting the story of coffee and showcasing the people and culture at your destinations. The stories of Abby, Joshua, and Kalani show how the human spirit can overcome obstacles and find one's passion. Having visited Hawaii twice in my life, I had the opportunity to experience Kona coffee first hand. It is truly one of the world's best. Outside of Hawaii, you mostly find "Kona blend" coffees. They are good but not the same as 100% Kona. In many ways, Angelino's Coffee is also like the Monarch butterfly as it changes and grows. Please keep doing what you do!

Oh my goodness this story resonated with me in several ways. As a child butterflies were attracted to me and my Mom always said I was special and that’s why they landed on me and flew around my head, so naturally I associate butterflies with special people or places. But then it came to Joshua and his story… my son was born special also and I knew it but it took several years to get anyone to see What I saw. Finally he was diagnosed with apraxia, both types. One kind has to do with motor skills and the other with speech. After his hard work in physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy, my son way surpassed what Drs thought he could do and all he has as far as permanent problems is a learning disorder. Unless you know him really well you would never know of his diagnosis and lingering problem. And I also used to say my son marches to the beat of his own drum. It was a great story about coffee, trying new things, butterflies and families. I loved it and your coffee as well. Thanks for sharing!

Picking my favorite part is bittersweet, first, as a person in recovery understanding what Kalani has gone through in his life and where he is today is amazing and it warms my heart to know that he is now able to live his life for the purpose of paying it forward and giving back, especially to his culture which is amazing in itself. Next, the fact that on my journey I have come full circle and now give back to others as a therapist and do work with people on the spectrum and so to see where Joshua has been able to journey to in his own right and to overcome struggles that he has been through in life to live such a full, rich, and meaningful life is inspiring and hopefully allows others to know that anything is possible. All in all in this episode I believe the most important thing to me or what I liked the most about it is that anyone, from Joshua's grandparents, or himself, or Kalani, can become and do anything that they put there minds to and then effort that will help fulfill their dreams and desires. Thank you Kirk for this episode today, not sure that this one can be topped. Awe inspiring.

A wonderful reminder that transformation is always possible... I love the Monarch butterflies and to see them finally fly is absolutely breathtaking!!! and the story of Kelani and his transformation and the wisdom he is now imparting and to see Joshua evolve and become an amazing young man. And the importation of the Gesha varietal and the five years that the family spent bringing it to harvest... and then amazing first Place and the continuing cultivation... what a story of transformation!!!!
I live in California and I have been to Kauai and Kona for many years, but now I want to go back on a 😇coffee tour!!!

Picking a favorite aspect of this video is impossible! The challenge of starting a farming business from nothing takes a special family. You can see the love and passion for the farm from Abby to her son. As a teacher, I love the success that an autistic child can reach when sources are utilized. Israel (Iz) was always one of our favorites and to see that is was his funeral setting that had such an impact on Kalani, was so beautiful to me!

The background of a family that was willing to follow a dream and take a chance on a blend of coffee that had not been tried on the Big Island before. It was an outstanding success story and their dream was fulfilled. My wife and I visited the Big Island in 1987 and, if we return, we will seek out Joshua for a guided tour.

This is a great story in all aspect from planting to harvest of the coffee bean. The clip also describe the coffee plant was the gateway to help mankind over come their personal problems. The story is very interesting but the camera capturing the beauty of the island is nothing short of breathtaking!

Awesome coffee! One of the best trips of my life, drank delicious fresh coffee for 10 days.
Not sure how you pick a best part, The risk and reward on the journey to being the best coffee in the state. A man finding himself, and thriving while passing on knowledge and experience to his son. A family recognizing and nourishing the needs of a special child allowing him to grow and thrive. I cant pick one!

I was originally drawn to this video because my beloved dog is named Kona. I love delicate coffees, so that caught my interest. Then, when I heard the story about winning best overall with their first batch, I got excited about trying some. I will be ordering some of this in my next order.

I'm not sure what I can add that hasn't already been said, but the story was amazing! I love that Abby's mom knew when she saw the Monarch butterflies that this was going to be the farm they chose. I loved Kelani's story of recovery and connecting to his heritage and his people as soon as he helped on a boat. I think, most of all, I loved to hear how Joshua bloomed from a shy boy that never left Abby's side to the tour guide for Monarch farms. I hope one day to hear Joshua's tour and experience their award winning coffee farm fresh! Great video!
