In order to dominate the social media conversation and make sure their product is top of all the news feeds did Nike design the new England shirt to cause outrage? on why i buy boots, it's because i always wore 3rd or lower grade boots when i was younger, and now that I am working, i want to pamper myself a bit. and the feeling of getting a pair of new boots just never gets old! there's a bit of fashion statement as well, not to get the latest boots, but to match the boots to your outfit that you're wearing, the socks, it just looks better overall.
Nothing better than rocking those takedown models the whole time you're a kid and then picking up all top end boots when you're older.
I agree on what you said about poor business performance by Adidas. My short story on trying to get a FT Predator: PRE-ordered a black and a white model at two different stores before the regular drop and yet I received none of those pairs till today. One order got canceled after waiting 6 weeks. I am almost done with this bs at that point. Every new Adidas boot is kinda limited or has ridiculous low stock or doesn't get restocked properly.
Absolute disaster waiting that long and then having it cancelled. You'd accept it if it was fast but 6 weeks is crazy.

The new Preds will be the Hypervenom 1 of this day and age. They are great boots but have faults that we will one day agree on in like 5+ years. However as of right now it's the shiny new thing that can't be talked about badly.
This is true, can't say anything bad about a Pred right now without some backlash.
Yeah its absolutely awful that you usually only have a few seconds to get special releases like this! No regulations at all. I was fortunate enough to get a pair in my size last week in store, but damn its just unfortunately shopping online 😞

When I buy boots, I'm looking for a combination of comfort and looks. I'll find the botts that I feel comfortable wearing and then try to find the best looking colorway of that boot. I used to wear the Adidas X silo but when ghosted series came out decided they didn't match the comfort level I was looking for so I went around trying several different types before settling on New Balance Furon with the Tekelas as my backup/rotational pair. Then, once I settled on those, I have bought what I think are the best looking colorways.
I think that's a pretty solid way of going about things, get the key component you want then pick the colourway that suits you the best.
Also current NB furon and Tekela. Absolutely unreal boots!
Honestly, I think the best idea I heard in this entire thing is that the brands should always have a black and I’ll add a white color for their boots that is always available because I think those will always sell the best and then rotate out their colors.

Yeah for sure, like Andrew said shipping definitely an issue but overall it's still a shambles.
@@BootWizardhearing the manufacturing team can’t keep up with the marketing release date. Add that with the logistics difficulties getting them shipped to all countries.
It’s too much inventory for them to do a proper release.

Great content guys! Agree with so many of your points. It's fine to ID things you don't like about a boot but in regards to performance, don't knock it til you've tried it.
I've gone back and forth b/w Preds and Mercurials going back to '98. I love how lightweight the R9s were but also the power OG preds brought. As a collector I've been more loyal to Preds and part of that is that community has been fun. I won't buy a model if i don't like them, and I did skip some generations of preds. If I didn't like a particular pred, i tended to shift to mercs.
Now I share my love of boots with my son and hope he'll eventually wear even the limited editions I have as I play in everything I buy. His feet still need to grow a few more sizes, so I'm hoping lol.
Despite my influence, he chooses what he wants and has gone between preds, Tiempos, and even premiers. For him it's about color and fit.
I personally prefer a K-leather boot, but support everyone in their preference and I've enjoyed a number of the new gens of preds.
I don't begrudge sneakerheads, but sneaker culture is a large part of the blame for the current boot market as the same sentiments have found their way to boots from the brands and all their drops to the catastrophic releases and the reseller market. I really miss the old days with a general release in several colors and then maybe a couple more during the year. What we have now is insanity.
In regards to releases "for women", I remember preferring the Presidia to the Precision! If I like the look, I'll buy it, don't care who it's "for."
Regarding silos, I'd prefer fewer however, I still think Adi could do a very successful retro pred line that allows them to mix and match from OGs then leave exact colorway remakes as LE.
Have to 100% agree with the sneaker head influence on the boot market, absolute disaster and even sneaker resellers are trying to get into buying boots because their own market is so saturated. Madness.

Yeah wear what you want, women's mens. Doesn't matter don't get hung up on getting annoyed about what they're supposed to be just go for what works.
Personally I buy boots 1 because I love football, I love the style of it and sometimes to get a new touch and experience depending on the boot. But if I purchase a silo that bonds with my preferences I try to stick with it. Current that was the phantom gx which I have 3 off. But the marketing and hype made me try out a predator which I'm waiting on.
Yeah if you find something that works it's a great plan to stick with that wherever you can.
I am a HUGE predator legacy fan - I have OG manias, pulses, accelerators and precisions, alongside remakes of all those models in my collection. I was naturally very excited about the return of the FT and bought both the FG and SG solar pack foldovers - both have split soleplates from use on the recommended ground (soft ground and firm ground grass) but in terms of feel on the foot, and the fit, they're immaculate. I'm so torn, I need to return both pairs as they've both had split soleplates despite being used on the ground they were designed for, but ignoring this fact they're absolutely amazing models and the feel and form are incredible. It's so frustrating as I'm still considering buying the Roteiro and Electricity colourways. I cannot believe that Adidas weren't aware of these issues from stress tests which must have taken place prior to release, it doesn't exactly fill me with confidence to buy these upcoming colourways.
Yeah that's crazy that you've had it happen to you on TWO pairs on grass. Hope you manage to get it sorted out and you don't have anymore issue.

What drives me to buy boots. At the age I'm at now its all about comfort. I don't really care much about boots in a tech sense. Just in a functionality sense. Will it perform on a shit pitch when playing pick up or Sunday league. If the answer is yes then that's good enough for me. Mainly heritage styled boots are my go too. Also, another reason I'll buy or try new boots it's solely cause Andrew, James and I almost all wear the same size and if it works for you two it will almost always work for me too.
Comfort should be key no matter what I think. If they are comfortable you're 75% of the way there.
One thing I think these brands could do is combine/rebrand the silos. “Speed & Agility”, “Power & Control” & “Comfort & Heritage”. That would cover all bases & no need for a useless 4th silo
Yeah, combo or drop that marketing style altogether and just have 3 varying styles of boots. People can label them, but companies don't have to. Absolutely agree it would be a good way of sticking to 3 which is maximum.
Boot buying method. I identify the a boot that appeals to me and try not to get caught up in hype. I always look for a review first such a srfu or noah, not pd or uni as they obviously want to sell boots regardless being retailers. Normally order 2-3 different sizes as a snug fit is what I like with only mm's space between front of boot and big toe. For example a phantom gx/2 in a 8.5uk means I have little to no creasing but when trying a 9 (trainer size in everything) I have to pull laces and the creasing is ridiculous. I like a light weight boot and that's the only thing i don't like compromising. My grip sock collection is based on boot wizard reviews.

Seems like you've got buying down to an art. I usually like a couple of different sizes to try as well where I can.

Don't know if it is on the agenda to ever cover big brand quality control. For example , Recently I had 2 pairs of phantom gx 2 elite ag direct from Nike, long story. Noticeable differences between the 2, think the ones I returned had a later manufacturing date on the internal sticker.
All I want is to get my hands on a predator LT with the tongue. Hopefully, I have some luck.

Watched a few of your adidas pred videos lately and love the content, i was very lucky to bag the adidas preds ft ‘og’ colourway back in January, i was trying so hard to buy the pearlized pred ft but apparently it was sold out everywhere in europe and ireland? I was even on time to buy them on adidas but they had a ballot for it which is crazy in my eyes for a pair of boots which arent limited editions. Almost tempted to buy them above rrp by resellers since i was crazy for the triple white preds and then I waltz into the Adidas store in oxford street and low and behold they have stock in store for the pred ft pearlized, night and energy packs?? I bought them in my usual size and i still cant fathom how theyre still sold out on online retailers and adi’s website. I agree with you here they must be doing this on purpose to generate ‘hype’ around their boots
I think they're definitely using the hype to their advantage and really pushing it to extremes with "limited" releases even if they didnt plan it originally.
I'd always suggest checking FutbolEmotion by the way, they tend to hold good stock and not sell out too quickly in non limited colourways.

I was so scared when I heard they were leather after the fact I bought them, as California has a leather ban on boots and the processing on Prodirect took forever but luckily it is their synthetic leather that they put on their copas😂😅
no it’s real leather. it’s just bonded to knit material under it

Yeah something I'd like to see. I don't think they were expecting the FT models to be as popular as they are so didn't plan having multiple plates for it as they assumed most would go for the non tongue version so that has all the options.
