The Saturn award is very well deserved. You did an outstanding job. The 15 disc set has to be my favorite and most rewatched thing in my movie collection. Is there any chance of someday seeing a video going through the wall of DVDs and blu-rays behind you in this video? I think it would make a great episode. Thanks for all of the great content.
When the box set was announced I literally sold some things to be able to preorder it. Back then it was $119! At that time spending anything over $5 had to be budgeted out, times were very tough, but I knew I’d regret it for the rest of my days if I didn’t bite the bullet. I’ve gotten more value out of that box set than a shelf’s worth of other sets I own. Dollar for dollar it’s the best set ever made, in my opinion.
I am very happy to own this huge original Anchor Bay 15 disc box set. Now, it's a 10 disc set, revamped. This original set is rare now and very expensive. Thanks for all the extras, Sean. Glad to own this one as well before it went way up in price.

I got the 15 disc set for $90 in 2014 and glad i did it goes for over $400 Canadian now! Never sleep on boxsets or you'll regret it i know there are a bunch i missed and now regret not having.
Cory, I got mine for $76.00 on Amazon quite a long time ago. It was listed as like new. It is mint condition! I am thrilled to have it as it is extremely expensive now if you can get one. The 10 disc one is the most common, now.
As far as your pat on the back comment, I just see it as you sharing with us fans, the work that goes into these projects and behind the scenes stuff. I’d be proud as well.

Definitely well deserved on that reward. Doesn't get much better then that Halloween box set. Hope they have something similar in store for the Friday the 13th set that's coming. Although, wityh Crystal Lake Memories already in existence I'm not sure what else could be done in terms of documentaries for F13.
@bigevilworldwide1 Oh I have that one. I've seen how the prices have jumped for it. I was talking more about a new box set that is supposedly coming sometime this year. Hasn't been announced officially, but Vincent Gustaferro, who played the cop with the laser sight in Part VI, recently revealed he did a commentary track with Thom Matthews for a new 12 film box set. Also the director of Jason Goes to Hell confirmed an unrated cut of that film was going to be released as part of the set. Again, nothing official, but it certainly seems like a new set may be coming with new special features. Definitely hope it's SHOUT/SCREAM Factory that's behind it and Sean has new episodes of Horror's Hallowed Grounds to go along with each film.

Hey Sean I know you may not see this but I wanted to ask a question, since you did mention your work is all over the box set (I don't think you would actually know the reasoning but it is always better to ask rather than not to). Do you have any idea as to why the theatrical cuts of Rob Zombie's Halloween 1 & 2 were left out of the releases of the box sets? I don't think anyone has ever given a clear answer as to why that is, any information would be appreciated. Also thank you for all the work you did on this set, this 15 disc set is one of my personal prized possessions & I am glad you helped make this piece a reality!
@@malfuncsean Thanks for getting back to me on this, it's a shame we didn't get the theatrical cuts in the box set, but this box set is magnificent and the work you did is cherished by many. I know there are still other cuts of the Halloween films out there like Halloween Homecoming (Resurrection workprint) as well as the apparent director's cut of Halloween 6 (not to be confused with the producer's cut), and now the new Halloween trilogy, so maybe someday Scream Factory will redistribute and continue a collection such as this and continue the work that you helped lay the ground for!

Interesting Halloween Box Set. Serious congrats on receiving The Saturn Award, Sir. So, I assume that means that the knife being used (and thrown away by Laurie) in the original Halloween (1978) wasn't a real butcher knife, but good-looking prop? I think I'd be too creeped out by Mike's head, to drink out of it. Those pumpkin designs are to die for. You know, if they ever make another Halloween anthology series (picking up from Halloween III), I hope they ask you to have a minor role in one of them. You'd be one of the ultimate "easter eggs"... : )

I'm not the one that makes the decisions but I have theories. I think they may have thought it was already pretty well covered and they wanted to focus on the films that not too much had been done on before. Also I know there were talks to include the 25 Years of Terror documentary I was one of the creators on. However the person who owns the rights to that doc was being too difficult and they decided to not include it because of that. So that may have fallen apart too late in the game to get other things added. As for Resurrection I don't think it has the fan following to justify it and at the time that film wasn't that old to take a full look back on. Just my opinions. We were assigned specific films and that's what we did. There is no way we could have added more to our plate. They had multiple people working on stuff for it but we by far did the most of anyone else.

My guess is that it might have something to do with Anchor Bay (who did this box set with Scream Factory) going out of business and/or the rights to specific films expiring and such. I know that behind the scenes the right issues to make this box set happen were CRAZY!!!! It's a miricle it ever happened to begin with.

Despite the new scream factory 4k blu ray combo pack release of parts 1 thru 5 people are still asking crazy high prices for this set people who would actually pay those prices must be rich and have to blow hopefully scream factory will release parts 6 7 8 on 4k blu ray

Since you do commentaries, I figured you may know him. He is also the author of the 4-part book series, DVD Delirium which chronicles horror movies on disk. He runs a website you may know of called, mondo-digital. Dude we should hook up, I have a massive collection that contains a lot of the same stuff you have (lots of rarities) and signed stuff to the wazoo. I’m a big statue freak (Prime1/Sideshow, etc), arcade machine collector (I think I have one of the nicest, if not the nicest Tales from the Crypt pinball machines in the US you’ll find, but would love to get your honest opinion) toy collector and all around horror nerd!! Would love to trade stories, even trade if you wanted. Love the content! -Tom

I'm so annoyed with myself that I passed on the 15 disc set in favor of the 10-disc complete set. When it was in print you could get it for less than $100 new.
I’m a huge Halloween fan, but i can’t afford that Halloween box set. Thankfully I was able to find the bonus content on TH-cam though. I bought it once for over $200 for Christmas but had to sell it because I couldn’t afford anything else for Christmas afterwards. With the money I got back I was able to get a ton of other things instead with that money.
That box set is the best purchase I've made in years. Thanks for all the hard work put into it. Still waiting on a HHG episode of Nightmare 2, though.

I just saw a new F13 box set announced, though I didn’t look into it.
Great box set. Have it in my collection. Unfortunately Halloween 4 in my set has and audio sync problem for a couple minutes in the middle.

I heard it was because those were the versions Rob wanted on there, his cuts. I could be wrong though.

The closest thing so far is "Taking Shape" by McNeill & Mullins. It's a good book that any hardcore fan will like...IMO anyway!
