    Bought the 576760 CT 36 AC and the electrical receptacle on the front panel won't allow their sander to plug into it. Festool customer service wants me to return the extractor so they can swap out the receptacle. Not too happy to lose the extractor for who knows how long for such a simple swap. They'll allow addition of the bluetooth panel which is a similar situation, but they won't just ship me a replacement outlet for the defective one and allow me to change it. Gonna return it and get my money back. Additionally, the hose that came with it won't fit the sander I purchased, so you have to buy a $33 adapter which won't stay connected well while sanding a wall. You'll have to buy the smaller end hose at $145 in hopes that it stays connected to the sander better.

    Why can’t you use the bag for drywall. Painters always have drywall dust from patching the walls. Can’t imagine switching these bags at the job site when doing some wall patching, trim sanding, and cleaning up the job.

    I can see HEPA certified AutoClean extractors on FestoolUSA site only. Will these be available in Europe too? Only non-HEPA AC extractors in Europe atm

    Other than capacity, CT 36 vs CT 48 are the same Except for HEPA? And if you put a HEPA FILTER on the CT36 will it be the CT 48 E AC HEPA, except in CT36 Size? I want everything this new CT 48 does just in CT36 size if that makes sense! Thanks in advanced

    Always put the AC off. If You use the planex, and set it to low suction (for sanding soft filler) every time the AC kicks in, you see it in the surface. I sometimes manual let it AC when not sanding, or remove the hose and put your hand on the opening of the vacuum cleaner and do AC.

    A CT would operate as a basic shop vac too right? Hardwood floor cleaning, car interior, cobwebs around the garage?

  • @Igor-q3f
    @Igor-q3f 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I’m still confused. I’m a residential painting contractor, we do reprints. I start with vacuuming the people dirt and dog hairs before I lay my drop cloths. I scrape paint. Patching walls, sanding trim, which vacuum do I get, I sand all my patching with sander.

      Sounds like you can do all of that with any of the auto clean models. Just get the 48. It’s the universal use for everything!

    Could you please let me know when this HEPA filter becomes available for the CTL/CTM 26 E AC models in Europe (The Netherlands)?
    I don't understand why these are not sold yet in Europe, even though we also have to deal with lead paint removal in older houses. When contacting local Festool representatives, they keep saying HEPA is just a trademark, only relevant for the USA, and that all of the filters used on both non-AC and AC models are the same in terms of filtration efficiency.
    The frustrating part is that when you look up the replacement PTFE filter (203759) for the European AC models, it only says: "Cleaning optimized standard filter with PTFE layer" in the specifications. It says nothing about the filtration level, nor particle size.
    Only when looking up the replacement filter (205412) for the US AC models, it tells me actual specs: "Filters 99.97% of particles down to 0.3 micron"
    What's up with that? Why be so obscure about the filtration levels over here in Europe??
    Reason I'm asking is because I just ordered a CTM 26 E AC, and because I'm planning on sanding some old indoor paintwork I want to make sure I can trust the European PTFE filter in terms of safety.
    Update:
    I did find a local online Festool dealer that sells the US filter under the part name:
    HEPA-HF-CT26/36/48 PTFE US - 205412
    I guess this means the filter is also compatible with the CTL/CTM 26 AC models.

    I just ordered the ts75 I’m seriously considering getting the ct48 ac with the cyclone. Would I be able to connect it to my Bosch miter and dewalt portable table saws? Planex is also in the future

    • @festoolusa
      @festoolusa  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Cesar Pereira The Ct 48 AC comes with a tappered hose. the vaccum end is a 50 (2 ") diameter end and the tool end is a 36mm ID (1-7/16") and 43mm OD (1-11/16").

      You can wonder if you need a big vac at all with a cyclone. I use a very small vac with cyclone and the only thing that gets in the bag is very fine dust so lasts for a long time.

    HEPA vac's are not necessary for planers and jointers since they have large shavings that would quickly fill up your bag and festool bags are expensive better to use a regular shop vac or one of those tall dust collectors for that. Where the festool extractor shines is when you are doing things where chemicals and microfine dust gets into the air that can get into your lungs plus regular fine sawdust from a miter or tablesaw, And as nice as they are in the workshop they are even better when you are working mobile and dont have a web of ducts going to every tool.

    Love my CT 48 AC! I looked everywhere and can’t find the answer, what is the metallic looking sticker for on the 36mm end hose ? Does anyone know? It seems to just cover a indent on the hose? @festoolUSA?

    One thing about Festool I hate is the cheap plastic power cords. They should be more flexible and have a rubber feel. The plastic picks up a memory as you can see in the video.
