"Let the mods begin". First mod should be the Intercooler, exhaust, and tires. Bigger turbos can come later, or maybe you don't even need them if you want to stress the powertrain and drivetrain too much. Motive Video has a cool GR Yaris on their garage that you can maybe do a collab with

Nice, a Stage Rally car! That's my wheel house. (My profile picture is me winning my stage rally class). This will be an exciting build, but it's almost a shame to have to COMPLETELY gut that car of yours to make room for the full rally cage needed to run stage rally, not to mention all the other mods needed. Fully weld the frame, reinforce the strut towers, strengthen the control arms, and the rest I'm sure you already know (shocks, brakes, skid plates etc.)
At least that how it is here in the USA.

One Yaris gets driven by grandma to the shops, another gets rallied...sounds rather like the original Mini. They were run (and had their share of successes) in just about every form of racing that would take them, all the way to Bathurst and the Monte Carlo Rally. Not bad for Mum's shopping trolley.

I've been watching a lot of the Perkins Engineering YT channel these last few days, and now I kind of want to see Marty walk around a cleanish example of an early 90s Commodore with the great LP himself, and chat about what an owner should modify first, to make it a great car.

Very suitable to the theme that Toyota Gazoo Racing driver Kalle Rovanperä just won WRC Croatia Rally on Sunday and is leading the WRC 2022 season. 😉

i enjoy that series so much since i've got my own Yaris. Can't wait to see what Marty is going to do with his GRY. I really hope there will be a signed poster of it since Marty seems to enjoy this platform so much.

Awesome video Marty! I've just finished my first rally sprint after 2 years building my GC8. Scary fast on dirt now and so much fun😁

Tbh I like the fact that the interview was with the mechanic rather than the driver.

If you are interested in doing some form of rally with the Yaris, tarmac rally is a good way to go. Targa GBR is later this year, and with limited modification to the Yaris it would be suitable for the limited speed classes which give you a whole lot of fun.

Amazing! The cage it has is a work of art as well. Also really makes me want a sequential gearbox.
