It’s not a matter of who said what. It’s only a matter of how Rashford has conducted himself on the pitch. It’s obvious to anyone watching that he doesn’t care and he doesn’t try.
I usually agree with all that Roy has to say on any given subject but I cannot agree with him here. Yes, United have previous on that particular subject but where he's mistaken is in equating his situation and how the club screwed him over with how the club are trying to get Rashford to lower his wage demands. The fact is, in terms of general makeup, ability, drive etc, Keane and Rashford are like night and day. Keane would run for the club and his team-mates, the fans etc, until he dropped. He was never found wanting in terms of work-rate. Rashford on the other hand, is a whiny bitch, a joke. He does not deserve to be associated with the club and as a fan, I can't wait to see the back of him. As an academy kid, the fans held him up high but they also expected him to do the same, to run for the club until he dropped, to give the club his all and to be never found wanting. We can tolerate a lot. He's had a few crap seasons, we're okay with that as long as a player keeps putting in a shift. And that's why we had time for Weghorst. Yes, he was bang average in front of goal but he gave it 100% and knew that it was a privilege to play for the club. Rashford, on the other hand, won't know what he's had until it's gone. Asking him to accept a salary reduction seems fair to me. His excellent form in the 2022-23 season won him that contract and it was expected that he'd keep that form. But he's not superhuman so we expect dips in form while expecting that work rate should compensate for loss in form but his loss in form has been principally because of his poor work ethic and that is why he deserves all the backlash he's been getting.

The little bit of training they were doing,,,and he wasn't doing correctly, showing up late,going out the night before etc.
