The 11-time Grade I winner Serena's Song is enshrined in the Hall of Fame in Saratoga Springs. But in real life, she lives out her days in luxury with her daughters and granddaughters at Denali Stud in Paris, Kentucky. We talk with her connections about the champion mare.

I got to go see Serena, her 3 daughters, and granddaughter this past June, and their foals. I will be forever grateful for that experience. Love ya Serena and girls!

I fell in love with her at first sight when she was three years old. Amazing from the get-go: both on and off the track.
I loved when she used to put the boys to shame. Hehe.
And then she blessed the racing world with great offspring who made mama proud.
Now she's a proud "grandhorse." :)

That's a good question...I think so, though I don't know if she would know a granddaughter since she would not have spent time with as a baby. But horses are like people, some bond with particular individuals and not with others, and the why and why not is mysterious as well just like with people.

Wonderful bloodline. And of course, these mares may not be “pets” but they have certainly been treated well.
