I agree. I’ve had Cats more in my life and I’ve had 2 dogs. My first dog is still the love of my life, but cats help with my anxiety more. I have extreme anxiety with dogs because they’re so reliant on you and I’m constantly worrying for my dogs safety and his well being. Cats don’t care if you’re there most of the time and they just sleep lol
Do you know how fricking irrelevant it is for getting to know someone, if you like cats or dogs or whatever....these people are children and dont know how serious relationships work. A persons pet is the least of my worries.

BRUV, no lie, I got set up with and went on a few dates with a girl that genuinely had a phobia of birds, and I dead thought it was a joke until our 7th or 8th date, where we were getting ice-cream, a bird swooped down and landed by the stand we were at, and she went into full panic-mode. I'm talking incoherent screaming, crying, snot-nosed, the whole thing. She threw her ice-cream in the direction of the bird, dug her nails into my arms, and used me as a human shield like the bird was about to light her up. I managed to get her to my car, calm her down after about 15 minutes of consoling, and then gave her my half-melted ice-cream. She was really cute and otherwise very sweet, but I kept imagining what would happen if I took her to meet my parents, and one of the birds that live in the tree in front of their house at the time popped by the bird-feeder at the wrong time, and had to just bow out of that one. I stopped letting our mutual set me up on dates after that

Thats sad. Nice of you to calm her down though. I dont have a fear of birds but for some reason I fear the ideo of pigeons hitting my face or head while flying away. They take SOOOO long to move and when someone comes from the oppsite direction i always panic that the Pigeon would end up flying away in my direction too close to my face. Its even worse when there is a whole group of pigeons.

To be fair, the reason I have a hard time loving people that big isn't shallowness, it's being in love with someone that's slowly killing themselves as a guy that's 37 and more fit than 95% of men 10-15 years younger than me. I'd rather not let myself fall for a person that size to begin with, it'd be so frustrating and exhausting to have to deal with in the long-run, trying to get her to understand how important it is to me that she learns to take better care of herself for her sake and mine, and potentially kids.
So many people project their own insecurities on me when they see how strict I can be about what and how I eat assuming it's to do with not being happy with my body, not understanding it's about physical and mental health and well-being, it's so irritating sometimes. If I can get someone that looks good and takes care of themselves AND has other things I'm looking for, why not? A lot of bigger women act like they make up for it with 'personality', where a lot of the time it just means they're obnoxious and often cringe like Amy Schumer.
Even if I was with a woman that looks great, but ate like crap, it'd still bother me because she's basically putting poison in her body. As long as she was willing to at least replace her favorite foods with healthier options, like Cheetos with an option that's organic with healthier oils that's all I'd ask and I'd help at least pay the difference. I'd even get it all myself. It's so frustrating how many people always think it's just to do with vanity, the more I love someone the more I'd want them to be the best they can be, not perfect but at least try and make an effort to do better.

As an owner of both I thought the same thing. Cat poop is soooo much worse. But she could have one of those expensive poop scooper litter boxes or she trained her cat to use the toilet or out side. I doubt the second.
cat poop is super small and clumps up with the kitty litter. if you clean the box every day you literally will never smell cat shit. taking a dog on a walk and having to pick up their fresh shit from the sidewalk or grass is WAY fucking worse. coming from someone who has had both cats and dogs lol
and dogs often have accidents inside the house. don't act like your dog has never pissed or shit in your house on the kitchen floor 😂 everyone I know that owns a dog has had this experience.

As someone who has a cat, it makes no sense to not want a dog because you don't wanna pick up their poop but then own a cat. A big part of owning a cat is to clean out their litter boxes daily and put new litter in weekly.

I had a cat that went outside and did it's own business. Cats and dogs are very different creatures. But I will say cats tend to be more independent and don't require washing as much as dogs.
