When you think back to some of the things that happened at the time you were not aware of their true nature, you can see now how toxic in hindsight they were. These are deep reminders of cementing that you do not want these discusting creatures anywhere near you again. Some of those things still make me cringe just thinking about them.
this hits home. I often look back on things that at the time I ignored due to trust. Now I think back on it and know exactly what it was. Just as an example when they got the new car I worked my ars off getting them a good buy on and the told me they just happened to wander to Lebanon that day. Now I know who was in Lebanon. Stuff like that.
Absolutely, it’s often in hindsight that we recognize the toxicity we overlooked at the time. Those memories can be tough to revisit, but they serve as important reminders to protect ourselves and set boundaries. It’s great that you’re recognizing what you deserve in your relationships!
"Narcissists attach themselves to their victims in a suffocating way" exactly. Like all unwanted attachments such as parasites and foul odors in your clothes from pollution. That's exactly how they get into your life to begin with. All it takes is one boundary compromise through kindness and before you realize it, the stench consumes you and your life and there's no getting rid of it bc they already plan on making you the villain and them being a victim. They target their victims with the script in hand. Stay alone!
Thank you for sharing your powerful insight! It's so true that narcissists can infiltrate our lives by exploiting our kindness, and recognizing their tactics is crucial for protecting ourselves. Your analogy really highlights the importance of setting strong boundaries and staying vigilant. Stay strong!
