Shibuya Eggman is to Band-Maid like The Cavern was to the Beatles. They performed many early shows there. It is there they honed their live performances and grew their Japanese fan base.
Shibuya Eggman is where Band-Maid played many of their live sets in their early days. It's like their home club. They have a really strong and emotional tie to the venue. In their indy-days, they played every week at times, even multiple times a week. This concert was a special performance prior to the last US tour started, only 90 tickets were sold through lottery. And the whole show was professionally filmed as well.
This is my absolute favorite. Period :-) It's heavy, rhythmic/funky, great vocals from Saiki with fantastic support from Miku, and so many awesome changes. A gem!
Eggman is normally 350 capacity but this was at the tail end of covid restrictions plus they videoed it so I believe it was 150 that night. Tickets were limited to members of their fan club. But the show did get streamed to fan club members worldwide later. It was a great show.
The Maids played at Eggman a lot in their early days and have affection for the venue and staff. After the pandemic shutdown they launched a monumental US tour in 2022, but first a 4-show tuneup in Japan. Last stop, Eggman(the performance you're watching). Thanks for the reaction!
There was another Band-Maid song where you described the bass as "funk-metal" (I love that) and I think this also has some funk-metal, along with hard rock, hip-hop, and City Pop. Typical Band-Maid lol
Shibuya Eggman is early history for a lot of famous Japanese bands, and IS a very small venue. I know SCANDAL performed there often in their early days. But for perspective on BAND-MAID, those recent Official Live videos, including Unleash!!!!!, Don't You Tell ME, HATE?, and endless Story, are all from there 10th Anniversary Finale Concert in Yokohama Arena, a venue with a capacity of 17,000! But up until that day, for many years, they have been playing venues with capacities from a couple hundred (or less, like Eggman) to a couple thousand (like Line Cube, Shibuya). Up until that day, the biggest venues they had played were 5 or 6 Thousand on a couple rare occasions. They have put in the hard work in small venues for many years. Yokohama Arena last November was an amazing milestone for our favorite band! And also, an absolutely incredible three-and-a-half hour show (no I wasn't there 😟 but I've seen the video)!
I'm surprised you haven't put it together yet. They are almost all different vibes. They go from Be OK to Protect U, from About Us to Rinne and from Memorable to Black Hole and everything in between

Saiki's vocals, Miku's harmonies, Akane's drums MISA's bass and Kanami's guitar!!! One of my favorites. Time for learning NAMES! Now You have done a ton of live and MVs, you've done some B sides, maybe it's getting near time to meet Band-Maiko. From the Japanese Music Wiki "BAND-MAIKO is a sub-unit of BAND-MAID that first appeared as an April Fool's Day prank on April 1, 2018. The prank had a good reception from the fans, and as a result they returned on April 1, 2019, releasing their first mini album." Secret MAIKO lips was the first song. Maybe a two for? Band-Maid \ Band-Maiko could be a good time. There is one song, Gion Cho which is exclusively Band-Maiko. Later, there's the Christmas concert we need to introduce you to. Peace!
2:37 the ice queen's first solo composition gives that upbeat r&b feel because her inspiration for becoming a music performer is namie amuro, a former japanese pop music heavyweight, akin to the west's 80s-90s janet jackson.
Eggman is one of the first clubs they played a decade ago. Pretty cool the girls remember their roots. Eggman says capacity of 250 with the seating removed. huge shows are EPIC but seeing them at this time in their career in a small venue. would be my first choice.
I’m liking your reactions so let me ask once more… Please do the Band-Maid “Warning” music video. It’s got nothing to do with the band called Warning. You are going to enjoy it!
Talk about small venues this was the venue in Phoenix and the song *Moratorium* and I was right behind the lady recording the video. Rock On!!! 🤘😆🤘 th-cam.com/video/Tl-RzAQ4aYA/w-d-xo.html
A precious red coral is the common name given to a genus of marine corals called Corallium. But I really think it comes from the genius of the precious Band of Maids called Band-Maid! 😍 Thx, Ords!
They livestreamed this. It was incredible and their playing throughout was very tight. The crowd in Japan were allowed to clap but everyone's wearing masks and they were not allowed to yell or be vocal. Like, at all. It was great to see them playing in front of a crowd again but weird that the crowd was not allowed to cheer. Still - AWESOME show.
You would be surprised, but a good number of the concerts they play in Japan are at venues that are between 250-800 capacity. On the US tour, the venues were bigger but still only around 1000-3000 capacity. But they generally do a tour finale show in a large venue of 10,000 -20,000 capacity in Tokyo.
The current hall tour is much bigger venues. Kanami, having an economics degree, understands "elasticity of demand" here meaning giving live offerings for all tastes.
I saw them in Boston on their Fall 2022 US tour, in a venue even smaller than this. Have to say I hope to see them again in such a small venue, but how they been selling out venues I have a feeling it will be a bigger venue in the future.
The Boston venue was not smaller than Eggman. Eggman maxes out at about 250 people, and this show in particular had 150. The show in Boston was more than 600 people.
This is one of the most complex songs Kanami has ever written, imo, so please check out the official MV to understand every little change, effect, arrangement made throughout the song.
Hey there .. stopping by to let you know Playboy the Beast has a new Lets go Brandon 2.0 song that turned out great and Tyson James has a new one called Fight you should check them both out . Hope you enjoy the new week ahead and thank you ❤
I have faith in you but you are picking very random Band Maid songs. If you are reacting to Band Maid you can't miss the following: Domination live Hate live Don't you tell me live Onset (music video) Play live

Miku and Saiki harmonizing together on the vocals is always special. 🤘🏻
still my favorite song of theirs. I am glad I got to see them in a smaller venue being 20 feet away from this is amazing

Band Maid goes almost prog. Best rock band on the planet.
Ah, a harmonies in this song. It's just so good! Great song to react to. PO! 🕊 🤘😆🤘

Small venues are the best. Saw them twice last year on their US tour.
Think of the biggest, wildest roller-coater ride you have been on. This amazing song is that!
Big or small venues dont matter to maids they treat each serving (concerts) the same , chance to serve the masters n princesses
There was another Band-Maid song where you described the bass as "funk-metal" (I love that) and I think this also has some funk-metal, along with hard rock, hip-hop, and City Pop. Typical Band-Maid lol
I believe this is Saiki's first song writing attempt, I think she was successful!

Saiki and Miku's vocal syncing is not talked about enough and damn is it good in this song.

I was in Phoenix too, on the rail in front of Kanami! Loved it!
Same here, on the rail pretty much dead center stage. That was my first Band Maid show and I’m so glad that I got to see them in that tiny venue!

Great pick for a live video! Can you imagine being in that audience? Epic!! Thanks for another fun reaction.

They spent a bunch of days preparing the venue for this recording. Hence the fabulous quality.
Song is a masterpiece
