So sad that Patricia and her gorgeous voice are no longer with us. Rest in Peace.. I had hoped to someday in years to come to hear Patricia and Amira Willighagen sing together.. We will have Patricia in our hearts always through the magical music videos she has left for us.
there needs to be a book & documentary written about patricia! also, there should be a stage musical & film produced! patricia janeckova's name deserves to be known world wide, albeit posthumously, sadly! she made opera trendy & more listenable for younger & non opera fans!! hopefully cds & dvds will become available!!
Thank you for your well observed commentary, William. Perhaps this is not the best example to use, but it would be so interesting to hear you discus her in terms of 'bel canto'. For, in my opinion, she was demonstrating those disciplines and techniques at a level far in advance of her age; even as a child. Only tragedy stopped her from becoming the finest bel canto singer of her era.
I am glad that someone else thinks the oboe is intrusive in certain areas. I wonder that her voice instructor did not raise this issue with the conductor.
Hello William, thank you for your reaction to this wonderful song. I completely agree that the percussion in this song is a bit distraccting, but if you watch the rehearsal of the same song (th-cam.com/video/ICvQ4ozdXHM/w-d-xo.html), there is still that Oboe, but no percussion and of course Patricia's angelic voice, which would make even the worst interpretation a real highlight. R.I.P. sweetheart!
I agree that this arrangement was too busy and didn't do Patricia's voice justice. It always seems to me that the oboe doesn't blend easily, it's almost as if it wants to be heard! Perhaps it is a characteristic of the oboe that it doesn't have a wide dynamic range - I haven't used it in a composition because the sound doesn't appeal to me. The percussion also seemed out of place.
The oboe, as you know, is a double reed instrument and takes a lot of effort just to get it to sound. It does appear to have very little dynamic range and it is overused here. Patricia never tries to fight it. She just sang beautifully through out. But there’s certain a lesson here.
Thank you for this musical analysis. I did not like this accompaniment which is I think not at all adapted to our regrété Patricia Janečková... I thought I knew nothing about music, naively, I even thought I was criticizing unnecessarily without knowing anything, they are professionals, I thought... The use of this oboe is too intrusive for me too. Thank you for your relevant analysis I am reassured 🙏
You are exactly right. The oboe is very intrusive. It’s a double reed instrument and at the same register as Patricia’s soprano. A cello would have been better. Or nothing!
Hoje completa um ano da partida desse anjo. Deixou saudades mas vive eternamente através de sua obra. ❤❤❤
Beautiful voice...rest in peace Patricia.
a song for patricia's best of compilation album with fans choosing what tracks should be included!!!!!!
I actually love the arrangement of this and obviously Patricia is just stunning as usual ❤❤

I like the dialog between oboe and her.
Oboe a little too loud, in my opinion.
@@BangkokVoiceCoach Maybe, but I think there's a possibility that the resulting sound was just poorly recorded.
Thank you William. Beautiful voice, but I do agree with you on the rest.

@@BangkokVoiceCoach Yes, absolutely the cello. ... Nothing, the most fundamental product for this voice to choose ( choose with the oboe) 🙏
