This is something that inspires me. At the funeral of a dear friend yesterday the words that were read from the song, "I Can Only Imagine," were so real to me and it puts my heart right at the feet of Jesus. Then one of my favorite Steven Curtis Chapman songs, "Long Way Home" is an anthem for me. Often when I feel the path get rocky, his song comes to my mind, "it's just a long way home!" Can't wait! This interview it so amazing. Prayers always here for the Chapman family. Love to all!
Dear Chapman family One of my favorite songs of yours steven is My Redeamer is Faithful and True And yes little Children Go to Heaven when They die immediately Thank you for the Faith you have shown Through it all Live on She is with you in spirit. Talk to Her nothing wrong with that like you do with God. I remember when I was a boy in Trenton,Mi.where I lived at the time Iwas around eight yrs old Me a friend and my yonger brother were crossing the street me and my friend stopped for a car but my Brother ran and got hit the driver tryed to stop, the road was icy winters are cold and snowy back then my brothers coat got caught on the bumper the car skidded to a stop The driver pulled him Out from under and he was ok the doctor saed he would be ok I still have him today You still have her in spirit today thanks again for your inspiring faith .in God As I look back on this Road I'v travelled I see so many times He's Carried me through. I know how it feels to lose a child. I lost my unborn child in August 2004. It took many years for me to See what was to come. Mary Beth & Steven I understand how it feels to be in your shoes. I'm a new believer as of not long ago. I'll be praying for you & your family. Sunny Noll
Such an amazing testimony. Losing someone you love and care for is difficult. I have faith that we will be reunited with them later in heaven. (1sammijoy- there is nothing wrong with having downs syndrome even if she did or did not. There is nothing cruel or 'wrong' with those who do have DS. They sing just as beautifully.)
God bless the Chapman family. Through their sorrow & loss of dear Maria they continue to soldier on for Jesus...knowing that one day they will meet with their beloved little girl. Mary-Beth is such an honest woman, in every sense of the word and her pain becomes our pain....Steven Chapman, may god continue to bless you with the gift of music. I wish all the Chapmans new Joy in their lives....:) Btw, I have just finished reading "Choose to See"....it is full of tears & joy, very inspirational.
Maria is still a living testimonial.f or me...and her parents and will, too.... .....her story about heaven so amazing....I miss my son so so much too....he was very special too
"One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in his temple. For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock." Psalm 27:4 & 5.
THE FIRST THING I WILL ASK GOD WHEN I SEE HIM, IS ASK HIM WHY WE HAD TO DEAL WITH SUCH DEEP GRIEF AND HOW WE WERE NEVER PROPERLY EQUIPPED TO COPE WITH IT!
cannot SEE. God knows ur pain n its not foreign 2 Him when He lost his Son. Ur tears r like prayers 2 God n He hears them roll off ur cheeks each time. Pray 2 allow Jesus Christ 2 b ur first LOVE. When u do, He will begin 2 hold u, comfort u, carry u, stand u up and stand firm in ur faith 2 heal ur heart. Read the Love Story He left 4 u n 4 me-His Word. John 3:16 God Bless u as u begin 2 grow as a flower in the Garden of God. Jesus loves U n there is nothing that will seperate His love from U.
I am sorry, but I see I didn't check it and it did not get my entire message it. Faith is Believing in what you cannot SEE. It is like the wind in the air that moves the leaves on the tree. You cannot see it, but it is there. ~~~ Bless You!!!
@ jensmom604... Why would you say that? That's pretty cruel... She was a beautiful 5 year old from China. There was nothing wrong with her... Watch the videos of her singing & talking & you would know.
Read her book and you will see a different side. She would call her friends and order them to go to Target for her. After the adopted girl died, Mary Beth and her family took over their friends' house, literally forcing them out of their beds. Steven refused to let his son be questioned by the cops until he could get him lawyered up. He was rude and arrogant to the officer on the accident scene when the officer was just doing his job. She even ordered another friend to strip so she could put on her clothes. Read the book.
jensmom604, perhaps you need to reread her book with different eyes. Your version is so far from the reality of what I read it is downright unbelievable. Several things you mentioned were done or said in a genuine joking manner towards friends who know and love her and the Chapman family. SCC was lovingly protecting his son,as a normal father would automatically do, without any rudeness or arrogance. Your description sounds like a weird alternate version. I have a difficult time believing you actually read her book. The so-called "demand" of MaryBeth about her friends clothes occurred right after Maria died when MaryBeth was covered in Maria's blood. Her friends advised her to get out of the soiled clothes before seeing her other 2 little girls, since they were already grief-stricken and traumatized. That description in her book was comical and touching, not ugly. It appears you are reporting something second-hand(giving you the benefit of the doubt, imagine that!) The Chapman's are indeed human, but they are sincere ,genuine Christians. They're the real deal. I hope and pray for your sake that someday the love the Chapman's know from both our heavenly Father and their compassionate friends, some of whom lovingly allowed them to " 'take over' " their house in that horrifying time of unfathomable grief will penetrate your heart and understanding.
Thanks to the Chapmans for adopting Maria and showing her the way to her heavenly home.
Don't do drugs.
A wonderful, inspiring story. A reminder that Romans 8:28 is true.
"God is not unfamiliar with losing a child." Wow, so very true.
What a beautiful family!! Their faith is what helps them through a tragedy. God Bless You!!

1sammijoy She was probably a high functioning Downs child.
2 dislikes. So terrible.
