Thanks to the All Crafts Channel I finally know how to do this bolero! She has translated this pattern and shows how to measure fir different sizes! She’s very good at explaining every step that even I can make one!
Thank you so much for this beautiful pattern and your work by filming this. It is so much work. I'm glad I am Dutch. So the difference between the UK dc and the US dc doesn't bother me at all. I just watch and it will be all right. Again, thank you!
Loved the tutorial! This will be my next project I think. LOL! . I'm from the US but I listen to ALOT of UK teachers on TH-cam. Just need to learn the difference between stitches and go with it!
It’s not hard to learn difference in terminology just remember In UK terms there is no single crochet and everything is one size above ours ex. A US single is a UK double, and a US double is a treble in UK and so on hope this helps
forget about the negative reviews. i am a beginner, just completed mine after many errors. love it...easy to follow. just keep going to get your size. don't change from the 30 when beginning the arm.. if you do, you will get a bigger arm pit hole. for my girls to fit i thought i need a bigger arm hole, i was wrong. the hole drops with each round you complete. use the size needle your yatn suggestion or a bigger 1 for a stretch look. fo
you probably dont care but does anybody know of a way to log back into an Instagram account..? I was stupid forgot my account password. I would appreciate any assistance you can offer me.
@Braylon Judson i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and Im trying it out atm. I see it takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
Could you add a photo of the finished product being worn? I'd like to see how it looks S before I take the time to make it. As for the tutorial it was really awesome. Very succinct and easy to follow
Happy holidays and I am new to your channel. There isn't a better explanation than yours w/ a clear voice and illustration. I am crocheting myself one thanks for sharing once again Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2022-23
I finally got around to making this - however, I did mine a bit different. The back I did in another crochet pattern and the border was this one and it was easy, fast and pretty... Thanks for the video...
Thank you for this pattern, it is beautiful. I have made it for a lady in baby blue Aran blend wool and its turned out really lovely. I did have to alter the pattern to fit her, which is a UK 14/16. I would advice an alteration on the sleeve holes, I did 45 for a large size and its too big a gap I think. Next time I would make the chains 40, but it has been an easy and quick project to make. Thanks again
Thank you for the tutorial. Your explanation are easy to follow. I just came upon your channel and have subscribed. Can hardly wait to begin mine.Thank you.
Please tell the followers on your channel that your work is in UK terms and that US are different terms. Not trying to be hurtful but your UK terms are way different than U S terms. Your bolero is beautiful and i widh there was a written pattern for your gorgeous bolero. Many thanks for tesching the bolero in this video.
You can just go up a size for each size lArger (I’m not sure how it would work if you have to go up too many size). If you knew the multiples for the pattern, you could tell based on that. I neve heard anyone pronounce crochet (cro-shay) like you do (cro-sha). Interesting.😃
It is very good wark thanku soooooooo much I love it But what will happend if I make the square taller reaching to hips how l make the circular part and the sleeves
Has anybody found out yet how to change the size? I need to know how many stitches for XL and want use Red Heart soft for the yarn. Can I just use more stitches for the back panel and all other instructions for the rest? ISM
I wanted to say how much I love your tutorial. I just made this and it turned out so adorably cute. It was small though; it fit my sweet 3 1/2 year old granddaughter and it looked stunning on her, although a bit big so I'm going to add a button to the front just to help it stay on her better. However, I'd love to make one of these for her mom and myself. How would you go about making this bigger? I'd also like to share my photos of my work; how can I do that? Thanks so much.
you could always crochet a chain then slip stitch to make a circle for the size of the bolero you wanted and get your stitch count from there,if you wanted you could also add your back piece later just make sure that it is centered
Oh wow I showed how to make a similar bolero. Since your vieeo is older than mine, is it ok if I give you credit for the overall design? I definitely do not want to take credit or attention away from your design. I look forward to hearing from you. 🤗
I don't see why you couldn't adapt this pattern to any size you want , just by measuring the length and width of the person's back you want it to fit . Then the the sleeves should be easy peesy
It seems everyone is stuck on the US/UK terminology. I, myself, am more concerned about the sizing over all. It's beautiful but what is the sizing? For instance, what would the bust size and shoulder size be... and how would we increase the pattern for different size people? Please advise.
Sue Thompson: th-cam.com/video/mulqfWbAIxs/w-d-xo.html If you should like this design, you can just measure the way she explained and you’ll be able to make it for your baby. When is you ware it it looks the same as the red one would. The difference is that the back is circular and the red is rectangular. Hope this helps.
Hi . You could just measure length and width of the person's back you wish to make it for , then the sleebes would be easy . Then just do the rest of the pattern the way it is in the tutorial
I am in Australia and we also use UK terminology, so are forever having to convert US patterns!!! Basically if someone is stating a stitch is different from what you know, realise that the terminology is different -but you can still recognise the stitch . . . . it's not rocket science. Just like the auto spell check continually tries to change my "english" spelling to US !!
Yes very true hun , it's not hard . But maybe some are pretty new to crochet , if that's the case it might be a bit confusing lol. I don't understand why the terminology has to differ , it's weird eh ?
Hook size mostly depends on yarn used and your own preference. Most yarn packaging include a recommended hook size. You can also go up or down a size for most projects. It will change the finished size but you can check that with a gauge test, i.e., by doing a small sample. As for sizing, I believe this particular instruction is for a small woman or girl. Remember that yarn stretches over time, especially when making clothing. Since the initial panel goes across the back, I would measure (or gauge, if it's a gift for someone else) that area. That is, from the shoulder to just below the breast. Then across is about 18-20". Then just make the main panel to fit that size. Doing the loops for the sides seems like it would be 2-3x the row count. She does 15 rows and recommends 45 chains. You see? I'm doing this pattern right now-- well, sort of. I realized there's no reason that back panel has to be boring ol' DC. So I'm using the cat stitch for that and may try to do the cat stitch for the circular area, as well. Or, I may just do stripes. This is the kind of pattern that has a lot of leeway.
I wish those of you would quit complaining about the terminology, if you know how to crochet you would get it! She did a great job!

Herleander Holeman-Butcher Thank you so much
Herleander Holeman-Butcher .. 30 chains is enough for 3years and 2 years kids????
Yes that is only the square on the back...then you will be working around it as it gets bigger.
Herleander Holeman-Butcher Thank you so much for your kind reply
Treble stitch UK she is referring to in the US is double crochet. this is beautiful thank you! took me less then 2 hours.

.
Wow it is easy to follow thank you
Easy explanation. Thank you!!
my guess is that if you want to enlarge this pattern you would double this for a medium, triple, for a large and quadruple it for XL size.
حلو كثيرا
I would just measure length and width of the person's back that i was making it for and go from there

do you have a photo of someone waring the bolero? Is it for children or adults.
so if i need it larger , it looks like i can just measure my back and work from there
Very pretty but Wbat size is this tutorial for?
you could always crochet a chain then slip stitch to make a circle for the size of the bolero you wanted and get your stitch count from there,if you wanted you could also add your back piece later just make sure that it is centered
It would have been nice if you had tried it on. My imagination isn’t THAT good! Very disappointed.
Can you show a photo of a kid wearing this shrug.

Marige OBrien: I agree. I would like to make it for adult size medium. So far I don’t see a reply from her to any of the questions.

Hi . You could just measure length and width of the person's back you wish to make it for , then the sleebes would be easy . Then just do the rest of the pattern the way it is in the tutorial

Judith Bailey I'm wondering same thing. I'm needing to get to a so 4/5 & also a 8/9. Beautiful work!!!

Shes using UK terms.
how to make for a 20 year old plz rply
What size hook?
I DO BELIEVE SHE'S MAKING US DOUBLE CROCHETS WHILE SAYING TREBLE.... IF YOU WATCH HER MAKE THE STITCHES, IT ISN'T A US TREBLE, MUST BE UK?
Exactly! U.K. terminology is one step higher than U.S terminology. 😊
Ahhhhh.... I KNEW THAT, LOL! I just didn't think of it!! :)
Brenda Marzullo she is doing double crochet I noticed the other day the British terminology is different than ours
patricia martinez
UK treble = US double & UK double = US half double
Waisline length nd breadth
What hook and what weight yarn?
How can you add sleeves?
