Nicely done, that remastering made this quality good to watch. I lived in London around that time, used to see so many nice trains that are no longer in service.
Loco hauled trains are just the best from a customer point of view.
Superb stuff…presumably after the 50’s started being retired. The enhanced quality of this vintage footage is quite remarkable. I wonder how much further technological advances will enable it to go? A long way, I hope.
Yes Class 50's last worked daily 12 months before with a gap to May of 1992 on their official last day, 47/7's had until July of 1993 themselves with a change in May to 3 diagrams the rest taken over by the incoming 159 DMU fleet with a full-service July 1993.
Man l could listen to a 47 ticking over for ages, those Sulzer engines always seemed to have a certain beat to them.
Some fanatic footage. Nicely sharp & clear. And the sounds….. excellent!
Second that! 😊
Superbly filmed 👏👍
Lovely Diesel Traction sound ❤️Remembering Network Southeast ❤️❤️❤️❤️
That is so clear!
I was going to say the same thing. A lot of VHS rips you see on TH-cam lose a lot of quality in the process, but this is incredibly sharp.
Interesting to see a later a/c mk2f in NSE livery included in the incoming train. Never seen one before.
Same here, I never knew they had any.
I believe they were a MK2D FK.... yes an FK
absolutely fantastic footage
hi, great video, class 47s just great locos, have been in a few in the 70s,
Thanks Peter, more 47s to come soon
I miss seeing the 47/7s on the Glasgow - Edinburgh route. It has been good to see 47 712 back in Scotrail colours with a matching set of coaches.
Great footage, incredible quality. That must have been some high quality enhancement software assuming this was filmed on analogue eqpt. I would have liked to have seen the original pre-enhancement for comparison purposes. Thanks for posting!
Used topaz to upscale, the original footage is on the channel in a 3 hour video “Waterloo Exeter Loco hauled finale”
I've always loved seeing 714 rock and roll on the brakes. boing
Such an under-rated loco! Really good video, thanks.
Just a couple of months before the 159s came in.
Great quality footage 👍🏼
Really enjoyed that 👍🏻
Thanks Jamie, more Come in future on 47s
You must let me know your secret to what software you use . I still suffer when I look back at mine from 1990
@@jamiesmithgoingloco Hi Jamie, i am using Topaz Video enhance AI
Thanks mate, shall have to look that one up , much appreciated 👍🏻
very nice
47708 has now been scrapped :(
'526 - more tea Vicar!
Nice video. What type of traction is it pulling?
sorry dont fully understand the question, can you re phrase?
@threea a Locomotive is a traction provider.
Great video, but driving from a trailing cab is not a good idea . Some TOC's will discipline you . I have seen it happen
Apparently it was specially authorised at Waterloo due to the live rails and trains in all directions making it hazardous for drivers to climb down to change cabs
