Okay, to be completely honest, even with Melodiva's out-of-the-park opening performance, the impressively on-key and coherently edited chorus, and the beautiful artwork in "Once Upon a Time," it usually takes me a little to ease into musicals because of the fluctuation in quality that often comes with such massive productions with a need for a big crew. (I kind of have a prejudice of skepticism of projects started on Casting Call Club - I saw it there while it was still being casted.) But this number absolutely sold me on the musical. Wow. First off, I really love this take on Flowey! It's so different from the fandom's general take on him, but it works so well! Flowey presents himself as more of a tutorial figure than a bouncy, silly friend, and while I totally see both ends, I do have to say I could absolutely be swayed down this path if this keeps up. This is kind of a weird thing to focus on, but the orchestral selection you selected completely helped to show the Flowey you were going for. You chose a smoother, more grandiose arrangement with bells as opposed to the more staccato, childlike arrangements out there. This is such a good way to use the palette of arrangements at your disposal effectively, and it established the song's mood even before Ember opened his mouth. And when Ember did open his mouth! Oh my gosh, the song could literally have ended after "howdy, I'm Flowey" and had basically the same effect because of the sheer subtly of acting put into those three words. While I've seen Ember now and again on Discord, I have to admit that I've never actually heard any of his work, and I am SERIOUSLY regretting that mistake right about now. Like, I actually feel the need to write a paragraph reviewing just the first syllable because of how well it shows the characterization. I swear to god I am not a creep. That first "how" definitely has childish undertones, but also has a little concealed surprise to it. Sidenote, I've never really understood why Flowey was so chill when you first meet him. Like, were you just so out of things to do that you just sat there staring at a wall and smiling in hopes of a human coming through? And if so, why did you improvise the entire monologue, as evidenced by the pause before "friendliness pellets" when you must have been waiting for, like, years, with more than sufficient time to think it up? But this pretty much answers all these questions. While he is a little shocked, he's a good enough actor to be able to disguise his shock as merely being a happy and bubbly personality. And the note is held just long enough for a calm, "you can trust me" vibe to encompass it all. The wonderful thing about Ember's Flowey is that it blurs the line between Ember's acting and Flowey's. I'm not sure if this was a deliberate choice or just happens to be the nature of voice acting someone who is, in and of himself, a method actor, but it works so perfectly! And to ramble a couple more things about Ember's Flowey in case you're actually still reading this - first off, I'm personally a sucker for small departures from the tune to refresh the listener and create interest, which Ember performs in abundance. Subtle bits like "I see that you fell down," "there's so much for you to see," and "but it's you who should run" really do it for me, even though I know that's more of an individual preference. Secondly, the way that Flowey just slowly CRACKS! He quickly recovers after "hey, ya missed them," but it falls flat on "what's this joke" and crawls evilly up on "are you braindead?" By the time he comes to "the bullets," he's completely done with this, but before that, I would still completely trust him if it weren't for the lyrics (and the fact that I knew what was going to happen.) After that point, he fails to even attempt to disguise his true feelings, with bone-chilling voice cracks and a very well-timed decay effect. The "DIE" specifically felt so perfectly in-character that for a second I could have sworn that you were ripping something directly from his Ronald McDonald voice ("that's a wonderful idea"). Even though it goes without saying, the lyrics have this perfect blend of originality based on the medium adaptation and strict reliance on the source material, which I can really respect. I'm surprised you went the bullet-dodging path, but in hindsight I think it really works due to the slow uncovering of his real self rather than the abrupt "you idiot," which I feel works far better for dramatic purposes. And the ART! Kit Kat, I didn't know you could art! I feel personally betrayed by this beauty! Seriously, the sharp anime-style lines work great here, and the contrast between Frisk and Chara's bemused and surprised eyes and Flowey's blackened, untelling ones sets the scene really well. Flowey's mouth in the second piece is something that I don't think has appropriate words in the English language, but is so innocent and sweet yet simultaneously completely uncompassionate. But the third picture - how did you do that? How did you effectively shade and light a character in the MIDDLE OF A BLACK VOID with NO LIGHT SOURCE and still make it seem natural? Teach me your ways! As for the fourth, I love Flowey's eerie glowing eyes in the middle of a black void (~~does this make him Sans Undertale~~) and pertained to the pixel art for clear-cut color shading. His mouth is reminiscent of Asriel's with the teeth, but it's twisted in such a cool way! Also, nice choice to make the pellets the light source rather than the soul. It's an interesting take on the effect of magic. Tl;dr - I'm hooked even if the rest of your uploads are the wrong number song in forty-five different keys. Congratulations, Narrator's Musical, you've earned yourself a Kristen Trawczynski commenter.
Oh my gosh, wow, I was NOT expecting such a long and detailed comment like that! Ember really is a fantastic Flowey, and I was really amazed and impressed by your analysis! I don't think I've ever seen that much focus on one syllable, haha. So glad you like the lyrics! When I was writing them I tried to think "If I were Flowey, in a world where characters break out into song, what would I sing?" I wanted to lyrically capture the essence of what Flowey says in the game without making any references to it being a game, as if watching a Disney musical. ^^ Kit Kat's art is great, I also love the anime style and the shading! You'll definitely be seeing some more art from her in this musical, and some voice work as well! Reading your comment brightened my morning, and I'll totally look forward to your Kristen-esque comments! :D
Oh my goodness WE ARE BLESSED WITH THIS COMMENT! Thank you so much for the compliments for one, and two, you basically said everything I LOVE about this song. It's a bit different and I loove Ember's voice on Flowey! Thank you so very much for commenting, I'm excited to see more of your replies! :') We hope we won't let you down!
I am perpetually screaming as I read this, I can't stop smiling, thank you so much! No one has ever really looked this in-depth at my singing before, and I really appreciate that you realize everything that went into it, many things you noticed were things I didn't even notice, and I'm the one who sang it. I am SO thankful for this comment
+Perpetually Screaming If Your Best Friend got a comment like that when it's one of the shorter and simpler songs, we're probably going to get short-story-length essays on the longer ones! Like, you're fantastic at the analyzing!
F is for Friends who do stuff together U is for U and me! N is for N-ywhere and N-ytime at all Down with your best friend Flowey! Have our favorite homicidal flower's first song!
+•_• •_• Precisely why I put it! :) Well, it has a few differences in note, but it is pretty similar, and I'm sure it was intentional on Toby's part given he mentioned in a Tweet how "FUN, too, is an acronym", and then put the lyrics of the fun song. :)
I LOVE THIS TAKE ON FLOWEY HES SO CHILL AT THE BEGINNING LIKE “Hey there friend:)” AND THEN HE STARTS TO GO LIKE REALLY EVIL AND THEN THAT CLASSIC “DIE” AT THE END ITS JUST SO GOOD
Oh my gosh! This is honestly one of the best covers of Your Best Friend I've EVER heard! This is just brilliant, BrightEmber is an amazing Flowey! Keep up the great work!
Oh wow this is where the fun begins ! Great work BrightEmber, you are right there on level with Xander ! I might even like your voice for Flowey better, it is less disturbing and have more "Asriel" in it. The art is great as expected. You guys deserve MOTI level attention, this is going to be a great show !
Normally, in a moment like this, I would go on a seventeen page rant on exactly "how" and "why" everything in this song is amazing, but somebody else already did that, so I'll keep it simple. Jolly good show.
Nicely done, guys! That is some awesome acting and musicianship from BrightEmber, and beautiful artwork! +1, kudos, all the accolades! It's gonna be a great ride!
Well, fandoms do tend to have that initial popularity push where some fans get too extreme (every fandom has that, not just Undertale, the larger fandoms just tend to have the loudest vocal minorities). :)
EchoFlower Productions At least things like shipping themselves with Sans is not common. And now, I have discovered this channel and this musical. It gave me hope for this fandom. Thanks.
We have over 400 already, I'm actually wondering "How the heck do we have this many already whatwhatWHAT?!" XD. We hope that the musical will continue to meet your standards!
This sounds like Asriel is somewhere deep inside flowey! Wow! Also, at first i was afraid the voice wouldn't become intimidating, but when it does it hits hard! Excellent! Just excellent! I'm looking forward to the rest
BrightEmber did an excellent job! Amazing artwork! He doesn’t sound so high squeaky, he sounds like Flowey the flower to me, love the voice acting! And Candace! The lyrics are amazing :)
So fitting I love it it sounds like Flowey is singing this I like it also I did not see your other songs but this makes me just wanna subscribe and that never happens so good job keep up the good work +1like +1sub
This is the second best voice for Flowey. Nothing can beat MOTI Flowey! This was good, art is very good and the lyrics are good! I prefer the MOTI lyrics and voice, but this is awesome! Don't give up! Stay determined!
Ember's Flowey is pretty incredible. I love how he starts off disarmingly sweet, almost to a saccharine degree. As the song proceeds, he slowly starts to shed this act he's putting on, until it ends on a chilling note. It's one of those songs that you have to listen to with headphones to really appreciate that final note.
+Doxic 17 I think it's because people imagine him having a high-pitched voice particularly because of his spoken "That's a wonderful idea" line in Genocide, and his laugh. Our Flowey has elements of that but without the Spongebob-sounding. They are both yellow and have higher voices but that's about it. XD Also I reply to comments a lot. :)
Woah! Another musical!! I can’t wait to see how this one turns out! Damn dude I really wish I was a part of some of these! Best of Luck to you all! You got my sub!
We're all really hoping to make this musical something we can all enjoy and be proud of! As for being a part of musicals, keep an eye out on Casting Call Club and similar sites and audition for as many as possible! :)
EchoFlower Productions actually I’ve good a question. Every musical I see it seems to have voice actors from other musicals, do y’all like message each other? Like how do you know if someone is having an audition?
EchoFlower Productions oh my gerrrrd, I actually have a chance to be in a musical 😹👐🏻 I auditioned for sans. I’m not sure when the deadline is but still! I might be in one!
I love this guy's singing! And I love the twist this musical brings! The UT Musicals I've seen are in Frisk's view... I like how you went and used Chara! Keep up the amazing music!
theres so many "undertale the musicals" moti lemonlight bear and rocky i believe has one this one i see another undertale the musical version in the recommended video side bar thing thats five that i can name right now lol, i mean most if not all of them are fairly good and at the least decent, it just feels like theres so many different undertale the musicals lol (P.s. good job with this song! it was actually pretty refreshing to here this song as i havnt listened to it in a while lol)
Thanks! MOTI was one of the inspirations for this, and Alex helped with giving advice on musical development while Tenebrismo directed me to Casting Call Club to assemble this awesome team together. We hope to live up to your expectations!
Ooooh, I love this! Flowey's face in the second picture was probably the most perfect I have ever seen it in my entire life, there's just something about that innnnnocent triangle and those little beady dots staring at you... maybe that's oddly specific. Oh well! :D
Hé, tu les as loupés, réessaie donc!
Very nice and creepy! The audio mixing was particularly effective. I quite liked the art on this one too! When I saw the thumbnail, I was a little bit concerned that you were going to write Chara into every single song. However, I'm very glad that's not the case, keeps things really fresh. So far, the show's off to a really solid start and I very much look forward to seeing where it's going.
Yeah, Chara may be present _physically_ in songs, but she's not going to actually sing in all of them. I think I've managed to give every character a good amount of singing time to shine. :)
This is freaking awesome, i love every one of thesse undertale musicals i find because yeah its still the same thing but they have something original in them as well. I dont want to talk for too long so just know that i will look forward any of your videos you'll post...btw i must say that i never liked how people made Flowey sound but i love his voice here so much.. That's all bye and sorry for wasting your time
After listening I feel the only thing that is not it's best is how Flowey's VA can't hit that highnote, but besides that the voice is a perfect balance of brat and monster (without just giving him a squeaky voice) the music is a very nice orchestral version, and the art was impressive to say the least. Good job! I can't wait to see more from this musical
Glad you like it! :D Ember is a baritone, actually (I thought he was a tenor for like months, lol), but knowing him it was just a stylistic choice. ^^ Glad you're looking forward to more!
I admit that when I first saw this, I was worried it was basically going to be a copy and paste of MOTI's musical, but the addition of Chara as narrator and the clear difference in lyrics makes it obvious you're going your own route instead. Color me intrigued.
Jesus Christ, Mr. Bright Ember!! I guess I did go braindead!! How did you do the "Die" part???How comforting to know that once you come to a new place , somebody is always ready to kill or pounce on you....😑😑 this is why because of certain "Floweys" in the world, I'm starting to lose all hope in going somewhere new without my parents😥😥😥😅😅 Well, not all hope! They can be good!😁😁
Whooooa this was awesome! The ending was just so chilling! And I'm loving seeing Chara over Frisk's shoulder, that's very neat. Is that the premise for this one, tell it from their perspective? That's so interesting!
Yup, the premise for this musical is basically telling it from Chara's perspective! She's my favorite character and I thought she deserved some spotlight! Plus there's a few other surprises in store too. ;)
I actually like your version of flowey. Don't get me wrong, Xander as flowey from MOTI is ncredible, I found his voice to be amazing. But even with that, It still still sounds disturbing which is good, but when I think of flowey singing this song for the first time, I imagine him sounding really calm at the beginning, trying to decieve frisk and lull them into a false sense of security. With MOTI's version of flowey to me, felt like he got aggravated far too quickly. Now like I said, I'm not blaming Xander for that, but with your take on it, his frustration was more gradual along because of frisk dodging the bullets. And only using the scary voice only once in the whole song at the end? A nice touch.
Undertale the Narrator's Musical - Your Best Friend - Art: I love Queen KitKat's colors. I like that even though having no lines, Chara is already visible in the art. The drawing style is certainly influenced by anime and some could call it "cartoonish" but it especially well works here with the apperently childish monologue of Flowey. Still though, the art is suggestive of Flowey's secret intentions. In the second piece, Flowey have a "tilted" smile. The third piece is also a work of a genius, because KitKat managed to have Frisk in a black background and the colors still look well and even the shading on Frisk looks realistic. The final art is just being Flowey himself. Flowey no longer roleplaying. The flower petals look withered and the colors muted. KitKat even added eyebrows to make Flowey look completely evil. Also nice touch with the tilted subtitles. A nice addition that is consiously easily missed, but the brain catches it and makes the viewer uneasy. Lyrics: Once again, the tough situation of a Musical being inspired by MOTI's is that the early songs that serve as set up have little room for reinventing them. The lyrics here certainly keep the musical on par with MOTI's, and provides good lines for the voice actor to capitalize on. Performance: BrightEmber is such a great Flowey... Its surprised me, because Xander of MOTI was a great one too and i didn't thought Flowey could be done better, but BrightEmber did it. Flowey here sounds GENUINLY friendly. It could ALMOST make me, a person fully aware of the ruse to believe him ! The gradual collapse of Flowey's nerves is nicely conveyed, transforming into the horrific Flowey. Also, personally i find it most enjoyable when singers are holding a note in a word, and there is plenty of that here at the end of sentences. Impressive, most impressive !
EchoFlower Productions Yeah, I like Toby Fox. He is such a funny guy. xD
+Никита Иванов We're two songs into a Pacifist-based musical, bit early to start thinking about Genocide, don't you think? :)
I think I've found my canon Flowey voice.
Yay! Also I love your username. :)
Thanks! Some people kill me for my username.
It's either this or Xander's hilariously evil Spongebob voice.
Oh man this is definitely the best Flowey I’ve heard yet. The transition from “nice” to Psychotic was absolutely amazing
Couldnt be happier to have Ember as our Flowey! He captured the slow reveal of Flowey's true nature perfectly!
Nick Salad clearly never heard of Xander lol
I can't handle how incredible this was! I'm beyond excited to see how the next songs turn out!
I LOVE THIS TAKE ON FLOWEY

The voices are so fitting!
This is just ... words can't describe how good this is!!!!
Aw, thanks so much!
I love this evil flower by him showing evil expressions on his face including showing those sharp fangs
It's the concept and I don't like his voice when it changes to an evil demonic voice.
This sounds like Asriel is somewhere deep inside flowey! Wow!
Also, at first i was afraid the voice wouldn't become intimidating, but when it does it hits hard! Excellent! Just excellent!
I'm looking forward to the rest
Ember really has an awesome Flowey voice. :)
It’s so great! I’m glad that I found this early!
Lol chara dough XD
#CharaIsGoodTeam
Yeah, I love the way Queen KitKat drew her in the art! :) Like "I am hecking on to you!" while Frisk is just in awe that there's a talking flower. XD
how the hell did no one react to this wonder in 2 years ?! It is so perfect!
probably the best flowey voice since the undertale musical
I can't wait for the musical
And we can't wait to put it out! :)
EchoFlower Productions you guys did well so far
BrightEmber did an excellent job! Amazing artwork! He doesn’t sound so high squeaky, he sounds like Flowey the flower to me, love the voice acting! And Candace! The lyrics are amazing :)
Thank you! Ember had a ton of fun being Flowey in this and I had fun writing the lyrics. :)
THAT’S BRIGHTEMBER?! What the fuck dude, you never told me you could sing! You bloody nailed this song! 😍
You should check out his channel! He has quite a few song covers!
Do not swear
Wow, sounds really good and i love these arts
I like how Chara's looking at Flowey like "Oh and _you_ were the one who wanted peace? Shame on you, Azzy. Shame on you..."
Idk why but I really like Flowey's voice
Well, Ember is an awesome Flowey. :)
EchoFlower Productions
People usually make Flowey sound like Spongebob :p
P. S. Yay, I got a reply
EchoFlower Productions And also, I have a tiny question. Is this musical following pacifist or genocide route(or something else idk)
Wow, that is a great Flowey voice! The change from cute to evil is perfect!
Woah I never expected to find another Undertale musical, I see it's been awhile can't believe I only seen this now, it's really good
Aw, thanks! :D We intend to upload new musical videos every Saturday, barring any complications!
+Katz_Dubs Well, we on the team do keep in contact with each other, but sometimes we advertise each others' casting calls on Discord and the like. :)
EchoFlower Productions oh alright! Well. I guess ima just sit back and wait watch this amazing musical, and wait for another opening spot.
Well _technically_ I suppose you could say that both Frisk and Chara are the joint protagonists.
So well done! :D
This is awesome just like the first one! :)
I wasn’t to sure from the first song if I’d like this or not, buuuuut your flowey sold me on it XD (can’t wait for the next one :D)
Aw, yay! Ember is a fantastic Flowey. :)
Darn Ember's voice is perfect for flowey.
I'm hyped for more songs!
And we're hyped for you to see them!
I love this cover of your best friend

THOSE LYRICS WERE GREAT
Aw, thanks! I had fun writing them!
(Also 4 months late replying to this, whoops!)
Really beatiful
i love chara's face here xD
I'm getting moti vibes from this...
I love this idea. I'll definitely follow this till the end
Thanks! MOTI was one of the inspirations for this, and Alex helped with giving advice on musical development while Tenebrismo directed me to Casting Call Club to assemble this awesome team together. We hope to live up to your expectations!
EchoFlower Productions if you continue like this you're probably gonna exceed my expectations. "I BELIEVE IN YOU HUMANS!!" ;)
+Faidon M. Aww! Well, we hope so!
Hey! It's our favourite least favourite flower!
Ooooh, I love this! Flowey's face in the second picture was probably the most perfect I have ever seen it in my entire life, there's just something about that innnnnocent triangle and those little beady dots staring at you... maybe that's oddly specific. Oh well! :D
Hey, oddly specific is good! :) KitKat did excellently on the artwork for this one!
Great song just found you today and i have to say its really good. Hope you keep the good work up ^^
We plan on it! :)
Aww , amazing ♥
frisk: uh hello flower
Chara: *slowly pulls out shotgun*
Well... Good!
very good!
This is high quality stuff!
Paroles:
Hey, je suis Flowey
Appelle moi ton meilleur ami
Je vois que tu est tombé
Tu semble être nouveau, alors
Laisse moi te dire "Bienvenue
Ici dans l'Underground !"
Il y a tellement à voir
Viens donc et suis moi!
Allez, tu peux me faire confiance
Je veux juste t'aider !
Je vais partager du LOVE avec toi !
Va juste dans
Ces pétales d'amitiés
Vas y et attrape en le plus possible!
Hé, tu les as loupés, réessaie donc!
Tu te moques de moi?
Es tu stupide ?
Hey, viens, petit,
Fonce dans les projectiles!
Tu le savais n'est ce pas?
Ce que tu voulais
C'était me voir souffrir
Mais tu es celui qui souffrira !
Regarde toi
Tu as chuté
Cherchant de l'aide
Mais personne n'est là
C'est tuer ou être tué
J'en serais vraiment ravi
Si tu prenais ce chemin
Personne ne t'aidera
Maintenant tu finiras en morceaux !
C'est l'heure de ta
Mort
Very nice and creepy! The audio mixing was particularly effective. I quite liked the art on this one too! When I saw the thumbnail, I was a little bit concerned that you were going to write Chara into every single song. However, I'm very glad that's not the case, keeps things really fresh. So far, the show's off to a really solid start and I very much look forward to seeing where it's going.
Yeah, Chara may be present _physically_ in songs, but she's not going to actually sing in all of them. I think I've managed to give every character a good amount of singing time to shine. :)
This makes me think of man of the internet
This is freaking awesome, i love every one of thesse undertale musicals i find because yeah its still the same thing but they have something original in them as well.
I dont want to talk for too long so just know that i will look forward any of your videos you'll post...btw i must say that i never liked how people made Flowey sound but i love his voice here so much..
That's all bye and sorry for wasting your time
No need to apologize! I enjoyed reading your comment!
EchoFlower Productions glad i didn' wasted anyones time then
Yes!!!
The last part scared me.
Good >:)
I’ll have nightmares
When he yelled die it legit scared me
Good >:)
He's hitting it just fine actually :) The last high note is supposed to sound a bit off since he's slowly getting more demented as time passes.
+Melodiva Stylistic choices for the win! :)
I admit that when I first saw this, I was worried it was basically going to be a copy and paste of MOTI's musical, but the addition of Chara as narrator and the clear difference in lyrics makes it obvious you're going your own route instead.
Color me intrigued.
Wanted to make sure it had differences right off the bat. :) All of the songs have original lyrics, by the way. :)
They can be good!😁😁
Drista: HEY you missed'em try again
I can’t wait for the next video. :)
Well, next video's up now! th-cam.com/video/SSZtagMIGEs/w-d-xo.html
i love this
Amazing art, amazing lyrics, amazing vocals, everyone did amazing :3
this is my favorite flowey voice.
Chara always knew Flowey was sus
LIKE I SAID LAST WEEK, YOU'RE MAKING MY JOPES AND DREAMS COME TRUE!
You're so sweet, Kirby!
Let's be honest, how can you not praise masterpieces?
Chara is just like "wtf is wrong with my bro"
Guys this might sound crazy but- *i don’t think flowey’s our friend*
The first part of this song makes me happy
Well, Ember did do very well at having Flowey act friendly. :)
Yeah, flowey' voice sounds really friendly until 0:51 then...
Not so friendly anymore
hai
i'm nice flour
psyche
im evil flour
die
oh nao evel flour
halp flour atteck meh
Lovely voice! Even when he was transitioning to reveal his true intentions, it sounds nice (albeit, a bit unsettling)!
BrightEmber pulls of a fantastic Flowey. :) Couldn't imagine having anyone else in the role. :)
Plus there's a few other surprises in store too. ;)
Your Best friend
Nice
Your becoming famous and being like man on internet
Whelp we are of with a very good start.😏
Also, I like how he sounded more like asriel. Sorry, forgot to add that part.
I LOVE HIM
Awesome another musical of undertale! I hopefully you guys are doing a neutral run, I was wondering how that would turn out in song?
Probably similar to a Pacifist run, but with a few monster deaths and stopping after the Omega Flowey fight.
Chara looks like:asriel leave us alone
Undertale the Narrator's Musical - Your Best Friend

Art:
I love Queen KitKat's colors.
Lyrics:
Once again, the tough situation of a Musical being inspired by MOTI's is that the early songs that serve as set up have little room for reinventing them. The lyrics here certainly keep the musical on par with MOTI's, and provides good lines for the voice actor to capitalize on.
Performance:
BrightEmber is such a great Flowey...
I think Frisk did get hit because in the game whenever we heal up we here the same sound we heard from toriel.
So i hear commenting and likeing draws attention so i want to see this grow big
I hadn't heard of that before, but that's sweet of you!
