Today our friend Ramon Stagnaro passed away...He was a legend in Peru and worldwide with the clasic guitar. I will remember him with this song forever.
Not the same style or quite the same type of musical virtuosity, but anyone who enjoys Yanni's music should definitely look up Bobby McFerrin (and not just the only song everyone knows by him). His album Circlesongs is especially resonant with the themes/vibes many people enjoy from Yanni.
This show is already a classic and vintage. I’ve watched this when i just finished high school and now I’m pre middle-age. Let me say this for the record. The energy and joy that Yanni’s solo flutist and keyboardist gave in this music are so contagious, 26 years and counting….
Ramon sadly passed away about 3 weeks ago. This is the first time i had ever played with him in the orchestra. He seemed a very bubbly, happy man & didn't look sick at all. RIP TO HIS FAMILY & FRIENDS.
One night about 20 plus years ago, a young boy watch first concert ever of his life on TV. He was so touched that he watch the whole show with tears in his eyes. The music somehow changed the boy's spirit for good. That boy was me.
I am a great fan of YANNI since I have listened to his concert in our Tajmahal India. Most of the night I used hear his wonderful music God bless him and everyone in his team

Ming Freeman is simply astonishing. The first time that I heard this song I had no idea that Mings solo was one handed. Sounded like 3 hands setting those keys on fire. Ming is a musical genius.

I am so glad now that I am 73 and can no longer get around like I used to that I attended his live concert when he and his entire entourage came to perform at the Academy of Music in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Pedro Eustache encouraged me via email many moons ago to keep pursuing music. My favorite waltz .. I call it the happiness waltz .. I think that when Yanni wrote it, he was in love and happy .. You always want to dance and twang and dance to dizziness with happiness to his sounds ...
Really, truly discovered his music when I was 15. We were playing “Marching Season” in my high school marching band that year, and I had never encountered an asymmetrical meter like 7/8 before that. I was mesmerized by how those sorts of rhythms worked. So I went to the library, and found Live At The Acropolis. Then Tribute. Then numerous others. I’m 34 now. I’m a pastor, but I also write and arrange music. And SO often, I hear and feel Yanni’s influence on the meters I use and chord changes I work through. This man’s music has changed my life, and I’m better for it.
