Entitled 'Middlesbrough' but shows Thornaby, Redcar, Stockton & Guilsborough. Maybe old 'Cleveland' pubs. Still, great reminder of old pubs I've drank in.
Next, Lord Raglan, The Albert, The Central, The Cleveland, The Chaplin, The Linny (Linthorpe) so many. Great snap of The Acklam though. Rumpoles, The Corner House, Slack Alice (Princess Alice) The Green Tree, so many more
The Thorntree, The Greenway, Pied Piper, The Fountain, The Viking, The Grove, Half Penny, The Brambles Farm, Rudds Arms, Grenadier, Master Cooper, The Coronation, The Cambridge, Artful Dodger/Roseberry, White Rose, Yellow Rose, Red Rose, The Centurion/Camels Hump, The Lypton, Southfield, Welly (Wellington) .....

Didn't the fly and firkin on southfield Road become the Southfield, and still open?

Allegedly councillors have destroyed the town good buildings. It allegedly all for money (I e) Never considering the average man in the street that why the towns gone down the hill the place is a ghost town. Because we voted for them they think the right to destroy the town.👹

Remember that one on the corner equidistant between the Cleveland and Hill Street centres. Where the mini Tesco is now? What was that one called? Was hoping it would be on here.

I realise it’s too much of a long shot now, I was just trying to retrace my footsteps of 30yr ago and a good piss-up we had while working at Davey Offshore on Vulcan Street.

Between the end of WWII and 1970 it was pretty well intact. Then the jackboot of Socialism took its toll... imo?

Many of these pubs list their modern names, not their historic ones. The Pig & Whistle Redcar was for over a century the Alexandra. Likewise, the Grand in Zealand Rd. And the Empire on Linthorpe Rd. Makes a nonsense of this piece of social history.
