I'll be there in November and really want to climb Misti. As a solo traveler I'm trying to find a tour company that has a group doing the climb that I can join. So far they're all saying non available :(

Doing the climb with a company in a group is an absolute must. There is no way you can do it alone!!! I did the trip with Waiky Adventours. The guide was Alejandro and he was fantastic. waikyadventours.com/ Try to contact them and see if they have spots available. I reserved just a couple days in advance though. You should be able to simply arrive to Arequipa and go to the office and make a reservation. They don't usually make reservations super in advance because they don't know who will be joining when, since most trips like that happen kinda last minute there. I would suggest to contact Waiky to ask about it, but don't stress too much. I think you should be fine to arrive in Arequipa and just go to their office and book with them on the spot! :)

Nicki,,,I know this will be an odd question but on adventures like climbing the volcano,, what is done about needing a restroom? I would enjoy hiking up something like that but inconvenient timing happens for me.. apologies if it's a question you'd rather not address.

    • @NickiPostsTravelStuff

Hi Tom! I have absolutely no problem answering this type of question! :) At the basecamp (in the middle of the volcano) there was a designated "bathroom spot" where people knew to go. I was actually surprised by how much TP was all over the ground there. So while at camp, that is the main spot. But honestly, any time you have to go, you can just stop and find a spot, and the group would continue up. Then you could just catch up when you're done. I don't think you would have a hard time to find a moment if you needed it! :)

Thanks for the honest reply... not knowing where a restroom is when hiking or biking long distances can cause a bit of anxiety for me, thanks again

@@tompotchatek6866 Absolutely. I understand how that would be stressful! I think on this trek you would have no problem at all! :)
