It was wack because we all saw Lebron quit against Boston, fake an injury, and skipped town. We'd see him do this exact same shit eight years later.
For real, it is like everyone's mind was wiped as he left cleveland the first time. Like they didnt see the left handed free throws and taking the jersey off as he left the court early. We all knew he gave up and left but they turned the narrative into "Cleveland failed him because they are a nowhere small market team" totally glossing over his conduct. They acted like cleveland never "deserved" the "king" in the first place. Part of why I think the ring he got coming home is dirty for cleveland. I still say we are in the same championship drought we were in before. I honestly see an asterisk next to that championship because of Lebron.

That would've been DISASTROUS for his legacy. He always tells me to go back and watch those games. He quit, just like he did during the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals vs the Boston Celtics in 2010 when he ultimately decided to leave. Again, he says go back and look at Game 6 and how his body language changed down the stretch of the closeout Game 6 despite the stats. He has been beating this drum for years and he was right. Funny thing, both of those series ended in 4-2.

2-2: That was a 4 year run and they were 2-2, they beat OKC and San Antonio due to Ray Allen's shot and Gregg Popovich's substitution with Duncan combined with the regulation, OT and game 7 choke by the Spurs. They lost first to Dallas, whom they were up 2-1 and Wade was on pace to be the MVP and then the James-choke job happened where he melted down. My personal opinion is that James didn't have a melt-down but he purposely played that way because he didn't want Wade to be MVP of the Finals that first time around, then once Wade let James take the franchise as the star player, they were able to win vs. OKC and then San Antonio, then fell apart vs.San Antonio.
4-6: James lost to San Antonio in 2007, Dallas in 2011, San Antonio in 2014, Golden State in 2015, 2017, and 2018. I'm looking at Dwayne Wade being 1-0, having losses in the Finals due to James and I'm thinking about Kyrie Irving's own personal growth as a franchise player being stifled by James, then that bubble title in 2020 where the season was canceled. These are James' losses. His victories really came via the opponent not being able to actually adjust in the OKC series and the choking of Popovich and the Spurs in 2013 and the 3-1 lead blown by the Warriors -- all of those bubble injuries taking place where the Heat didn't have their full roster in 2020. How ironic.

In 2011 I learned that Lebron James was talented and can lead meaningless games well but when it came down to really leading the way in pressure times, DWade was by far the better player! Wade had a pace to his game. He got better when it was time for war, win or lose this guy was a warrior.
