How NOT to Build a Foundry

I did another thing... well, actually, I build the foundry years ago, but it doesn't work, so I tried to improve it... watch the video to see how that turned out.
For anyone who is going to use this video as a serious guide on what mistakes to avoid in building a foundry, let me summarize some problems I don't think are emphasized enough in forums online:
. Make sure you have good airflow (it needs to be hot where your crucible is, so embers need to receive airflow where your crucible is)
. Remember that heat rises quite aggressively (think of ways of optimizing the shape of your foundry and its lid so heat is trapped but gas gets out)
. Fire every ceramic before first use and preheat everything every time
. Be willing to use cement despite what online forums say (because it's far easier to use than ceramics & ceramics can also spall so what the point?)
Also, if you're using coal or charcoal, you may want to think about where you're going to put your crucible. I think in my next design, I may try to incorporate a place to put it slightly above the coals.

I really appreciate the human approach that you demonstrate in these tutorial videos, the Internet has held to such this pariah of infinite wisdom when in reality is a bunch of bumble fucks guessing and trial and error, at least here you’re honest about it
