One of the jam nuts is loose on the first shift lever's clevis. You can see it jiggle throughout the entire pass at around 12:38. Looks like the one on gear four is also loose. Try some blue loctite to keep them in place. Excellent runs guys!
Love how Cleet always “we” for everything, doesn’t matter who touched it or worked on it, or didn’t open the valve, he says “we”. That’s team work. Great leader right there.
The crowd of people gathered around the pits just watching cleet record is huge.
Nice to see how respectful they're being too. Don't see that often with youtube fanbases.

The car community is almost always pretty compost and civil. It's just the love of racing & seeing shredded tires that brings us all together in harmony. 😎
@@KermitOfWarwe know different car communities then cuz the stereotype is the exact opposite 💀
To be honest it's obnoxious, fucking go walk around there's over a hundred teams there most of whom best cleet year after year, go watch them if you're at the show, idk shit seems obnoxious as shit. What are they even doing? Fucking standing there staring at them?
@@g32k Yeah those people doing donuts in the middle of busy intersections are not part of the car community. A take over in a Dodge charger is also not part of the car community. Other than the occasional loudmouth drunk, Drag racers are mostly respectful.
Its crazy Leroy came out unscathed after the money shitft. Thats a testament to Pete's building
Being turned down, and relatively short shifted when it happened certainly helped it survive that
Killing the world Cup content bro, idk how you find the time. Heroic effort.
I love how Sam just jumps on making sure everything is completely spotless, that’s a huge deal when it comes to high performance stuff. Sam is a blessing and a half bro.
"Well my chute didn't come out but I still had fun!" Loved the different shots of Leroys run.
Half a million views in less than 8 hrs? Killin it cleet, congrats. Great content as always

Add a warning light that lights up if the CO2 pressure is low. That lets you know both if the bottle is low and if you haven't turned on the bottle yet. Take that LEAN approach and add a safety if you encounter a problem, so it doesn't happen again.
Kinda surprised they haven't done something like this already as I'm pretty sure this has happened a few times before.
@@martindworak They use it for the onboard sodastream machine, That way cleetus can get his mountain dew ready to drink when packing up the chute after a pass.
They use the CO2 for the wastegates
@@parma-seanmcFlurry ran outta co2 during testing with the new engine before this event iirc
James may not "love" coyotes...but he's definitely becoming a fan quickly 😂
The turbo sounds that come out of Leroy are absolutely brutal.
You guys NEED to put a pressure switch or an analog transducer in the CO2 line somewhere and program an alarm on the dash, it's already a couple times it happens...
@@extec101I suspect more is run on the CO2 than just gates (shifter, transbrake).
Well after watching the video it's pretty clear that I'm wrong. What with it being leroy lol.
CO2 alarm absolutely though. Egate will eat a couple of motors before they give up
@@extec101yeah they're making so massive gates too. Would be cool and good product advertisement
Old school checklist board. Click it or slid the tab when task is completed.
Went from "Turn intercooler on" to "Turn C02 on" that run would have been a ripper
They have done it before too. But yeah they definitely need a sticker that says "Turn on CO2" now.
God forbid they install $25 worth of sensors that will turn on a dummy light that says something is not at the right setting. For example; CO2 pressure below 10psi? = dummy light. Please at least someone write a checklist.
FFS airline pilots with 40 years experience are still required to use check lists for a reason.
Haha, Cleetus being a pilot knows checklists work. Ask anyone from the military lol!
Cletus' face when he said "...I'm just gonna go ahead and put that back" made me spit my drink XD
Love how you guys so effortlessly deal with the fame you've gathered. You're so chill as you go about your day and the huge crowd of spectators don't seem to change you at all. Full credit to you all.
Remember when Mullet was going to be a jet car? I think I’m way more glad to have seen this route. Hell yeah brother. Keep on keepin on 🦅 🇺🇸
Yes but no, that was a different car. He got shot down after they cut it up so they bought another chassis.
@@RadDadisRadit's the same chassis, when Kevin started working on it he talked about having to adjust it because it was already being made for the jet. And he didn't get shot down, he changed his mind after Kat Moller died in a Larsen jet car
@@testarossagzb5582 he did talk briefly about it being not able to race at a lot of tracks because it would be a jet car. Maybe that added onto the aforementioned points you brought up as well. I was almost positive they got a new chassis because they cut and extended the el Camino for the jet engine and it was just too altered and he didn’t feel comfortable, I could be wrong.
Win or lose don’t matter, you and the crew are our winners no matter what. Great job guys
Well not gonna spoil it but next video should be pretty good 😁
The good news is that nothing in McFlurry's engine bay is ever going to rust 😂
Cleet: "we are running out of turbo!
Cleet: "I think we have some turbo left!"
Crazy how good McFlurry starts when it has more than half of its cylinders
Hell yeah brother! Thanks for the daily content on drag racing events! It’s fun to look forward to your posts!
The honesty in this episode is the best. Love it.
Cleetus you are a great sport. A true leader by admitting your mistakes. The team is dialed.
mullet lifting both front wheels when you got back into it was amazing! 8:58
I've always thought Holley was the shit, but Haltech is always doing so much to go above and beyond, and I've been watching them do it for like...I dunno, a decade now? Seriously impressive customer support
Fuel Tech is right up there as well. Holley is losing it's edge in my opinion.
@@3800TURBOwhich is how it should be. if you think you can do it better, go cheaper and get a Holley. But if you want the support from dedicated pros who ONLY do that one thing, go with Haltech or FuelTech. At least that is what I have noticed across dozens of builder/racers who share their race programs on youtube.
Zach lives his life one good vibe at a time.
Cleet, you need an itemized/sequential check list for every step if you don’t already have one. A systematic approach will help eliminate errors like leaving the CO2 off. Glad you boys won though!! Can’t wait to watch that video
Time to make a pre-run (flight) checklist for Leroy.
Needs to put a pressure transmitter on the CO2 and set it up as a monitor on the display.
He had a big cardboard sign on the center console reminding him to turn things on a while back.
@@RadDadisRad
Came here to say exactly that.
Think he knows a guy connected to a pressure sensor company. . .
That trackhawk would feel fast for most of us meanwhile cleetus looks like he’s cruisin at 30mph 😂😂😂 I love it
You can see me at 0:07 over the fence lol! Was awesome being able to get a picture with you and kyle!
Props to you guys for getting this footage out so quickly! We’ll see it from 1320 in about 5 months or so..
One of the few channels that leave your face sore from smiling the whole video!
Let's go brother!! Daily videos are awesome, especially when Leroy goes fast
James may not "love" coyotes...but he's definitely becoming a fan quickly . The honesty in this episode is the best. Love it..
You guys have come so far since the early days. Always get excited seeing a new Cleeter post!
I cannot imagine the work ya'll put in to run and maintain that many cars at the track at the same time......Good luck tomorrow!
Love how you run with the big dogs on a budget. You are truly an inspiration TJ.
32:00 I’ve never seen cleet that upset with himself. Face emotion says it all! Things happen brother
Electric solenoid valve on the c02 bottle as well as a pressure alarm. Wire the solenoid valve to be controlled by the ECU. Never forget it again.
I agree with commenters suggesting Mullet be used just for Drag and Drive... technically still needs rear suspension and rear end work though. Both KSR and SM have pointed that out in videos.
It's crazy how some of these classes were literally seconds slower only 1-3 years ago.
ye the stick shift class especially is crazy how much it changed over the years, going a 7 used to be remarkable
@@Edigor100 What's wild is that, aside from Nick Cole-Mann(badass dime!), the top of the class is STILL Grubworm, Grannis, Red Demon(still can't believe a DSM is on the edge of 6s...), and Leroy! Too bad the Yandro didn't keep the Minion SN95 up to speed(I mean, it's gotta be a pretty expensive class these days), love that car.
The look on Cleetus's face when he looked at McFlurry's oil cap and saw there wasn't anything wrong with it. But he held his cool even tho' he knew at that moment that there was only one reason that oil cap was lying on the frame-rail. That could be a very costly or very dangerous mistake.
Keep diggin guys, mistakes get made and things break when pushing as hard as you guys do! Keep having fun with your great team!
Shout-out to the team staying on top of maintenance at such a breakneck pace. Good catch on the broken valve spring!
I have to say, Sam is extremely good at what he does. His products he uses are top of the line, and the gleaming cars of Cleetus are the a perfect ad for his stuff.
Can't be easy running 3 cars in 3 classes at world cup. Hats off to you guys for the efforts and videos. Mistakes will happen it's not like your only concentrating on just one car 100percent. Your all winners in my eyes in Aus. 💪🤘👍
Loving the content. It's not a journey without some bumps in the road.
To have a team this skilled yet so humble with twinkles in all of their eyes whenever someone gets to rip in a car. That’s a friendship only a few can ever find. Team mcfarland is a true family!
*_I just know how baaaadly he wants Mullet to be able to get into the 5's!_*
*After this competition I know he is going to do whatever it takes to make it happen!*
Mullet was never getting into the 5s with a G-body chassis & suspension, that setup has been on borrowed time from the moment the SMX was dropped in lol
@RyTrapp0 Yes and no. 10 years ago a 10 second car was a big deal. Now a 10 second car is easy. I think it's possible. Weather it's 5.99
@@GrayswandiirA lot of viewers don't really understand the differences between Mullet's setup and something like Tom Bailey's Camaros lol.
Zero chance it makes it into the 5s. They’ll have to get rid of the junk ksr suspension and tube it.
@@thefloridaredneck With drag radials, factory style suspension, and 3400lbs? Maybe with the best track prep on earth. Then we're going to see if the chassis stiffness can keep up at that point because it'll have to be cutting some pretty wicked 60's.
You guys need small laminated pre stage checklists on the dashboard. Eliminate mental lapses. 😊
Leroy used to have a "Turn on intercooler!" note written on a piece of tape. Perhaps it's time again.
Usually the one backing them in and lining them up does that stuff. Not cleetus crew, but i know other teams do
@@CarsCatAliens Definitely. Must be a total pain to keep straight the details when racing two different vehicles

God damn, check the locknuts at 12:41 on the shifter linkages 😂
Unwinding like there's no tomorrow
Locknuts with a shoulder. Designed to be "loose" but are actually tight. If there was no shoulder the shifters wouldnt move

Do drivers have check lists in the vehicles similar to aircraft pilots? Seems like it could help with any forgotten steps like forgetting Co2. Love the channel, Do it for Dale!
Most drivers have a mental check list. Cleetus just has a bad habit of getting excited and crossing stuff off before he actually does it
As far as the C02 mishap being a pilot myself I would definitely have a preflight checklist to go over before takeoff on a laminated card of some kind to do every single time.
This is the BEST CHANNEL..!!!! PERIOD..!!!!!🤟🏻
I love how cleetus manages to provide us with a video everyday with everything going on. And they're actually long and decent videos. Hell yeah brother
So glad james is grabbing gears in mcflurry. He executes perfectly
Seeing the giraffe dance around as yall were honking the horn was funny af!

im so stoked for you guys, good luck tomorrow
James is the most southern guy I’ve ever heard… the way he said oil after that first pass was BIG COUNTRY

Leroy had to clear his nostrils with that cold start. Great run guys
that oil cap could use a safety wire!
Thank you so much for an awesome time. I spent days hanging out at your trailer just to listen and watch.. you guys have an amazing tram. I'd love to be a part of it one day.
Sam keeps every single one of those machines immaculate! I can't even keep 1 vehicle that clean!
Also...can we just appreciate that Leroy is at the point it runs 7s without a boost controller?
Seems like valve springs might be a problem on SMX even if Steve swears it isn't. This is probably the fifth broken valve spring we've seen in the past few months on various engines.
Your celebration after Leroy's run proves that Maddie loves you for your sick dance moves.

It’s crazy how many years I’ve been watching you ❗️almost 8 years
Leroy 2.0 is really making some progress now, gonna be 6s in no time, there's still a lot left with that Harrell LS & the back-half. It's amazing how the OGs of stick shift(well, of the last half-decade or so anyway) are still all at the top of the class - (aside from Cole-Mann and his SICK LS Dime taking over...), Grubworm, Grannis, Red Demon, Leroy, pretty damn cool(I think they're all running a Tick T56 too, Demon aside)! And, shout out to Red Demon @7.004, hopefully they can get back into the 6s; it STILL blows my mind that a DSM is running on the verge of 6s!
Tough break for McFlurry, but he's just getting started with that Coyote - it's going to be an animal with a bigger pair! May need some gearing adjustment before long.
Time for some major surgery for Mullet, frankly it's ridiculous that it's doing what it does on stock-style G-body suspension lol. Time for a real 4-link, maybe remove some more sheet metal. Or maybe buy a roller to drop the powertrain in for the races and keep 'street mullet' for the drag-n-drives?
Also... WTF with this stock SUV blowing all 4 tires off on a prepped track!
