Which is absurd that the C2 can be used for VHRT solo due to both its handling and weapons.. the M2 makes more sense but the C2 is OP and handles far too well for a ship of its size.. or they need to make other larger ships handle better and add pilot weapons, but something doesn’t currently balance properly.
"The A2 is for people who want to destroy things. A lot." I would bump the M2 to a 10. Yes, it's not perfect, but you say it's not required to be for a 10 rating. When I started, I began with an Aurora, then Cutty Black, then Connie, then M2. What I should have done was skip the Connie. The M2 was the backbone of my climb to more money than I can spend before the next reset. While the Corsair is my primary daily driver. But up 'til they nerfed the cargo on bounties, it wasn't uncommon for me to do the bounties with the Corsair and if I hit the jackpot, bring the M2 up and load it.
I respect it. If it had an onboard medical suite even just tier 3 I Would have given it a ten or if it had a few more of the A2's turrets. Hopefully they make the jump seat area swappable in the future or they give us a medical variant hotzone hospital!
My theory of why the M2 has less cargo capacity than the C2 even though the internal space is the same, is because the additional weight of the ship's armor reduces the weight value of the cargo in order for it to function properly in atmosphere and gravity.
The lore of the C2, is that at one point it was outfitted as a refuel ship, and I have always wondered if the MISC Starfarer started out its life as a Crusader ship, with looks akin to the original Genesis Starliner design language.
I own a C2 (in game), but crewed an A2 the other day and the turrets are SO NICE! I bought the C2 during the days of massive cargo loads in salvage, but now I don't think its necessary I never fill out a whole C2 unless I'm just doing cargo running.
I had no interest in the Cargo loop until the Hercules came out. Going all the way back to the Kickstarter, I had always gone for militarized versions. My first Kickstarter ship was my Freelancer, now a MIS. My second was the 325a. I've also got the 125a. But when the Hercules line went live, I toured all of them and it was the C2 and it's really nice living quarters that I fell in love with. The C2 is legitimately nicer than most of the flats I've had in my life. Now we just need a bigger bed for the captain.
The M2 is the best one imo, the armoury is fantastic, the armour when it comes online will be good and the extra turret will pay off. That’ll be my long term choice of the three variants, but for now the C2 is the one.
I agree that the M2 has more utility, and it's fun, but when I walked into the C2's living quarters, I could see myself living in the 'verse in there. The M2 is someplace you'd take out on a mission, then fly back to your HQ, not something you'd live out of for any longer than necessary.
The Hercules is an amazing ship. I still prefer my Caterpillar for being a space trucker, but the Hercules just reminds me more for hotzone dropping with all models. But to each their own, i just cannot wait for the ship modules to come in.
I love the C2! It flies like heaven, has spacious fuel tanks, has gorgeous inerior. I bought her after every wipe, working my as# off and will do it again and again and again until the end of my life.
The hercules is such a awesome platform. I underestimated the A2 but got shredded in my Ion and then again when i came back in my Inferno to get 'revenge'.
if i'm correct, CIG has expressed that they will gold pass every ship at some point before release. it makes sense that most of the components and ship sizes will change at some point in the future. got to keep this in mind as you acquire ships for your fleet. nice video, Lando. been enjoying the content
Been so long sense I saw that video lol. Imagine if the ground battles were like that shown in the video would be epic! A2 is amazing when crewed and will be a beast in master modes. But it really can use some top coverage as you mentioned in the video. A2 is one of my favorite ships in the game just wish it had a med bed we could respawn in for that $750 price and what it was designed for, ground assault.
The M2 needs to be redesigned, to make more sense and improve its use case. Instead of taking cargo grid capacity off the top (stacked 3 high instead of 4 ) , they should take it from the sides at the AFT entrance (6 across rather than 8). You'd actually gain 54SCU but, more importantly , regain the ability to double stack 8,16,24 and 32 SCU crates. Now with the extra space at the sides, move the drop seats down to the Aft Cargo bay with matching gun racks similar to how its done in the Valkyrie. Add 2 Heavy weapon slots as well. put the C2 armory back in the tunnel of the M2 so pilots have access to defense nearby. Turn the former armory and drop seat area back to the living section as in the C2 Rotate the terminal for the nose turret 90 degrees so that the operator faces forward so he doesn't black out every time the pilot does extreme maneuvers.
M2/A2 will also gain some benefit once the components get reviewed. Noting the dev's have said components will go the way of FPS gear with higher tier items disappearing from shops and will need to be found/earned/salvaged. Having better starting components will be a plus that isn't obvious just yet. They are truly awesome planes, look great and the go to performance choice.... but they look like planes, cool planes, but not really sci fi ships..... flame suit on...lol
Pretty much agree with everything said. Had a C2 that I've since CCU'd to a Carrack, then to a Polaris, but will eventually own another Starlifter variant. There's just so much you can do with them.
The Hercules Starlifter hands down wins ‘most ridiculous handling’ for any ship in Star Citizen. It handles at times better than a medium fighter, despite being enormous and similar size to the Caterpillar and Carrack, which are appropriately ‘large ship sluggish’. At some point they will need to rebalance this, because for the cargo / vehicle civilian variant to have pilot weapons while the military originated Carrack exploration ship to have none and be far worse in terms of storage is unbalanced, to say the least. Right now you’d be better off sticking a C8R in a C2 for exploration for a more usable experience, sad to say.
Watch out for 3.23, old Caterpillar gonna come at you with real haulers tractor beams. Can only imagine the nightmare of loading up a full C2 by hand tractors. I think this adequately highlights the Hercules first and foremost purpose is vehicle transport, with cargo as a nice side benefit.
I like these ships but they also make me wish there were mechanics in the game to differentiate cargo ships made for planet trading and space station trading
M2 is my go to. Once you can slave the turret to the pilot seat it will be a brutal one person ship with 2 npc. 1 for back turret and one engineer. Cheap to run and dual size 5 gimble and dual sice 4 gimble.
Who else is curious about how the community feels about this ship when 3.23 shows up and forces you to load the cargo. By hand. Without a nice ship mounted tractor beam like the caterpillar has. Also, i remember when someone in global chat said it looked like an obese sugar glider and now i cant stop thinking about that
i love the m2 it looks so good, i do wonder though will these ships be as good as cargo haulers later in the game? i saw someone a while ago saying that when cargo is physicalized properly that they possibly wont be able to carry all types of stuff?
These are some of the most useful for any occasion ships in the game, but I have a problem. The M2 and the C2 are far too similar. I don't know the actual dimensions, but the cargo space in both is the same but the cargo grid is just smaller, right? So the single extra turret and cargo clipping slots are really the only difference? Is there some planned gameplay for the M2 to give it some extra purpose? Seems to me the choice is either full cargo C2 or full "friendly" A2.
The M2 will have more armor. It will be tankier than the C2. It also has a larger cargo grid than the A2 and a set of drop ship seats for squads and an armory.
The C2 is an awesome hauler but I'm dreading filling these huge ships by hand once cargo elevators are in game. It just sounds like such a boring time sink.
Thinking on buying A2, just collecting upgrades for right now. I understand you preference to M2, but as for me I think drop the bomb much cooler than have additional space for goods, 'cause I don't think I will trade on Hercules, but probably use to steal the cargo from NPC or players, still a lot of potatoes))! Fly safe 0/ like as always!
I think I'm going for the A2. Reasons: - I've always been a tank whore. In Call of Duty, in Battlefield and now in Star Citizen so I have a Nova Tank and I need a ship able to transport it. - I'm doing cargo missions as well, I have a Hull C but I need a ship to bridge the gap to that since Hull C minimum container size is 32 SCU. I think 216 SCU is enough to do that. - I'm doing bunker / outpost missions and a few bombs here and there will clear up the outpost / npc's outside the bunker before I roll in with my tank. - greater offense capability to defend myself
Wouldn't even ass another turret to the top, just move the rear turret up a meter or so that it can cover all around. As-is the rear turret is never used as the copilot can only use one gun at a time and the rear turret is so restricted it's pretty much useless. Also it's worth noting that this is one of the few ships to not need player cargo boxes, the bins on the top deck are shared storage.
With cargo reactor I fear the the C2 advantage in cargo may be at the end. The edge over the M2 is limited because hand loading that upper row of boxes in such a confined space could become an issue. I hold my judgement on that. So far, 120$ price increase for 170scu less and a chin mounted turret was not really a compelling choice for the M2. You have some extra jump seat as a bonus. The M2 is also the only variant that I have NEVER seen sold with a warbond discount since it's launch. I have a C2 and a CCU chain including an M2, but I will not press it before my Liberator will drop in game. The M2 is just poorly priced and really without a role at the moment, doing too little for how much more it costs. The C2 will always be the superior choice unless you plan to constantly carry around half an org with it's vehicles. The Liberator is the ship to get if you like the M2 playstyle, for just 35$ more
The C2 is currently overpowered as can do ERTs, Haul and everything in-between. They need to make ERTs harder as this is a cargo ship, it makes no sense for it to be able to do the best BH missions. Hope Master Modes and AI can counter this meta
I respect your opinion on it. I think some ships are going to be good at doing more than one role. That being said the ERT'w are definitely going to change in difficulty and scale, they already announced it!
@billionaire Ninjas I keep my subscriptions private due to some issues I have had in the past. Will this disqualify me from the giveaway? I can prove subscription via screenshot.
Not al all! That happens to be exactly how I verify your account! On top of that if there are privacy concerns I would always work with the winner to get them their ship!
M2, im not a Grinder so C2 isn't my bag man, A2 i dont like dropping Bombs on Dudes heads, it just aint cool baby, but the M2 is where its at...''pass the pipe jimi'', yeah M2 is the man.
Actually Cargo ships have an edge in MM vs other industry ships like Salvage or Mining ships. If im in my vulture or mole - theres a chance im in SCM mode using the salvage or mining modes. A Cargo ship is pretty much in Nav Mode at all times so it IS flying 'like a fighter' and doesnt need to 'spool up' to make an escape if trouble suddenly shows up
Nice giveaway strategy. 1st time I see a real incentive to watch the prize video as soon as it gets posted
I currently use the C2 for VHRT and cargo, best daily driver
Which is absurd that the C2 can be used for VHRT solo due to both its handling and weapons.. the M2 makes more sense but the C2 is OP and handles far too well for a ship of its size.. or they need to make other larger ships handle better and add pilot weapons, but something doesn’t currently balance properly.

The C2 is awesome, melted mine in the bid to become a better fighter pilot I miss the auld gal lol
Very nice! C2 is always my first purchase in-game when I gotta return to the grind after each wipe xD
I own a C2 (in game), but crewed an A2 the other day and the turrets are SO NICE! I bought the C2 during the days of massive cargo loads in salvage, but now I don't think its necessary I never fill out a whole C2 unless I'm just doing cargo running.
The Hercules is definitely my favorite heavy transport ship in game.
The Hercules is one of the most iconic ships in the game and probably one of the best looking (at first sight) imo
Let's Goooo, Crusader is my favourite manufacturer
Woah so many things in your give away, Bravo Billionaire Ninjas
I had no interest in the Cargo loop until the Hercules came out. Going all the way back to the Kickstarter, I had always gone for militarized versions. Now I know I'll go for the M2 once I have the credits :D
Love your videos man
Thank you! I appreciate your support!
I actually feel guilty about flying the C2, it doesn't have any real drawbacks. Won't stop me flying it!
I love some of the concept videos they make, and this ships is a doozy. Great video.
Being able to land planetside with that much cargo and so little crew is just insane, I love it!
C2 and corsair are my favorite ships for sure. Both surprisingly versatile.
The Hercules is an amazing ship.
I still prefer my Caterpillar for being a space trucker, but the Hercules just reminds me more for hotzone dropping with all models.

nice video, Lando. been enjoying the content
The Starlifter is the state of the art from Crusader. I love my C2 Hercules Starlifter. Even its name is beautiful.
Been so long sense I saw that video lol. Imagine if the ground battles were like that shown in the video would be epic! A2 is amazing when crewed and will be a beast in master modes. Love your content!!!!! Also love my C2!
I wonder if we'll ever get ground assault scenarios that require large dropship capabilities.
I think we're getting those with distribution centers!
I just picked a c2 up its one of my favorite ships that avian design and the huge cargo bay gives me tingles just thinking about it.
C2 is something i would def grind in game. Also something i do every IAE is renting A2 and just dropping all the bombs and watch the explosions. :D
Pretty much agree with everything said. Had a C2 that I've since CCU'd to a Carrack, then to a Polaris, but will eventually own another Starlifter variant. There's just so much you can do with them.
I will always love the Friendly A2 meme, so for that, the Hercules gets a thumbs up from me
Man started to pick the c2 salvage missions… I need a bigger hauler for the extra cargo space lol.
C2 is my favorite ship that I own. I think I would like one of the military versions better though.
M2 is the best bang for your buck.
Probably the most functional and practical ships in the verse. C2 is practical, M2 is a mutt, A2 is entertaining.
love this channel

ARGH!!! I AM SO SICK OF FLYING A HERC AND ALL OF ITS DARN DOOOOORS!!!
I want my Liberator. Or my Kraken. Just. Something. Different.
I like these ships but they also make me wish there were mechanics in the game to differentiate cargo ships made for planet trading and space station trading
Right now it seems they just take away the tractor beam lol
you mean the Hull C for space trading and the c2 for planet side trading?😉
I always thought that the Hercules M2 is the happy medium for this family of ships
Nice ship, Hope to see it with full multicrew.
Okayyy. This ship looks freaking awesome
M2 is my go to. Once you can slave the turret to the pilot seat it will be a brutal one person ship with 2 npc. 1 for back turret and one engineer. Cheap to run and dual size 5 gimble and dual sice 4 gimble.
Great review of C2
Who else is curious about how the community feels about this ship when 3.23 shows up and forces you to load the cargo.
By hand.
Without a nice ship mounted tractor beam like the caterpillar has.
Also, i remember when someone in global chat said it looked like an obese sugar glider and now i cant stop thinking about that
I think handheld tractor beams losing the power to move larger cargo are going to be a big hit to this
Always flying that C2 or A2 for whoever has the cargo I want.
Love the A2's Nuke.
I definitely will have an M2 for hauling through rough systems. The turrets and armor should act as a bit of deterrance.
i freaking love the A2 but i cant bring myself to upgrade from my M2 because of the 750 dollar price tag. I just dont see it equvivalent to a Polaris.
i love the m2 it looks so good, i do wonder though will these ships be as good as cargo haulers later in the game? i saw someone a while ago saying that when cargo is physicalized properly that they possibly wont be able to carry all types of stuff?
I think they will be more difficult to fill but they'll still be able to carry everything that fits.
These are some of the most useful for any occasion ships in the game, but I have a problem. The M2 and the C2 are far too similar. If you want to deliver wheeled hatred to the battlefield, the M2 does it in style.
wuts the difference between the c2 and the m2? they are all transports
The video explains the key difference about half way through! Check for where I say amenities!
Love this ship, but it's gonna be interesting if you can still solo this (easily) when engineering comes out.
The C2 is an awesome hauler but I'm dreading filling these huge ships by hand once cargo elevators are in game. It just sounds like such a boring time sink.
I wanna win! Hercules is freaking awesome, sleek like a Tesla!
I cant rly put my finger on the reason why, but i rly dont like the Starlifter ships. 🤔 Either way it's a useful ship and it was a good video.
Lilo n stitch ass ship
Thinking on buying A2, just collecting upgrades for right now. honestly C2 is top for me....has great guns and the cargo capacity is NOTHING to scoff at.
I just love the C2 Hercules.

Def my fav cargo in the game

o7 ... These are so useful on every level
It’s a great ship. Faster than it should be imo.
Use the C2 solo on the daily!

I'll keep my armor and enclosed bay thank you very much. Why would anyone want to fly around on moving landing pad?
I respect this logic but I think waiting for Armor to come fully online is the best bet.
Remember all A2's are friendly.
I love this ship but it feels like there is a ton of wasted space. Hopefully they give it more useful space
The C2 is currently overpowered as can do ERTs, Haul and everything in-between. They need to make ERTs harder as this is a cargo ship, it makes no sense for it to be able to do the best BH missions. Hope Master Modes and AI can counter this meta

Agreed.
M2, im not a Grinder so C2 isn't my bag man, A2 i dont like dropping Bombs on Dudes heads, it just aint cool baby, but the M2 is where its at...''pass the pipe jimi'', yeah M2 is the man.
M2 is definitely the best of the bunch but my heart belongs to the A2. I tried not to be biased though lol
flying this ship is too good for this size of ship
Had the C2, wished it was an M2.
This ship looks a lot like the Big ship in avatar!
Oh I didnt catch that good eye
@@billionaireninjas Thanks! Yes, as they have the same role. It caught my eyes instantly! 😉👍🏾
I used to think this ship looked like a pregnant bird. Now it’s a pregnant c1
C2/M2 delivers cargo
A2 delivers death
I love my Hercules, but using it feels like cheating. Oh well. 😈
Lol so many people are going to melt this ship when master modes is in. No more flying like a light fighter.
Actually Cargo ships have an edge in MM vs other industry ships like Salvage or Mining ships. If im in my vulture or mole - theres a chance im in SCM mode using the salvage or mining modes. A Cargo ship is pretty much in Nav Mode at all times so it IS flying 'like a fighter' and doesnt need to 'spool up' to make an escape if trouble suddenly shows up
Buff boi!!!
C2 is better to solo, A2 is better in a party. M2 just sucks lol
eyeballing this guy. for sure.
Use the C2 solo on the daily!
