I got the 2022 version and after 15k miles and about 30 hours a week in it, I am absolutely amazed at how refined it is day in and day out. Great car review on the es. Call me grandpa, I'm 26 years old and i think its a great car for what it is. We gotta take notice, most of the US is all straight lines. The ES is suitable for the US because you're in a quiet place inside and get great mpg
I bought this car a month ago, in pearly gleaming white. I can't get over how refined and upmarket it feels. The mood of richness and quality oozes from every aspect. Great efficiency and posh exterior add to the whole package.
Bought the Camry XSE hybrid instead of this because getting in and out of it would be nearly impossible if I’m having a bad neck day at 6’3. The minute I bumped my head getting in, I had to pass. And I wanted this car. Not making cars cramped for larger humans would be a lovely innovation.
Everyone needs to learn to appreciate the benefits of the modern CVT. Once they understand why it does for what, you will fully enjoy that weird banding sound and feel of it. Especially for hybrid, CVT is a must in order to give you both of excellent, buttery smooth ride and efficient power delivery when you push; all of these while getting the best fuel economy. It's some next level shit, and Toyota really refined it better than anybody else. If anyone has driven Toyota/Lexus hybrid, you actually won't complain about it.
Thank you for the great content. I have a 2019 ES 300h (my first Lexus Hybrid - coming from a Honda Hybrid). There is a loud noise coming from the brake booster pump every time I open the drivers seat or occasionally while driving. I have wrapped it with sound deadening (heat proof) material since sometimes it is extremely loud. Maybe that's the way it's supposed to function? Funny how I didn't notice that during the test drive and what might be loud for me might not be noticeable to others. Perhaps it's because the car is so quiet that you hear everything (kinda ironic). Thank you!
That happens on purpose. I understand that the breaking system needs to charge up prior to driving, so when you open the driver's door - it prepares for your upcoming drive (and braking)
Love this car. You can do 80+ and it still feels like you are riding on a cloud. I do agree though that this is your daily driver. This is your meditation session. For the weekends, get something with more grit and performance.

Reviewers need to better gear their comments towards those who are most likely going to buy the car. Saying the car is slow OR not as fast from 0-60 as a non-hybrid 6 cylinder car is a stupid/ridiculous comment. People already know this!! The speed limit in most states is 65 MPH, so a car that can go 140 MPH is not really what is important. Also, even if they actually would want one, most young kids can't afford this car unless they are born to a rich family. The buyer for this car will be on the 50+ age range, and they are looking for luxury and a quiet and comfortable ride. And, that is what this car delivers, and also reliability, probably as good as if not better than any others in its price point.
The Luxury and Ultra Luxury trim levels have acoustic front door glass that seems to reduce this complaint, which usually originates with air moving around the mirrors. If you have wind noise at the seals, see the dealer. If the noise is coming THROUGH the glass, replacing those windows might help.
