Dunk Session #39

  • First few dunks are from late January before I hurt my right foot (ligament sprain or something, not even sure what it is exactly). Took basically all of February off from dunking and I'm still trying to reach my full vertical again. My bounce is a bit flat probably from focusing on lifting. In a few weeks I might switch it up to only plyometrics and bounding to help hit my peak again. The foot still aches a bit after a dunk session if I stay for too long but while I'm jumping I'm not feeling it. The original prognosis was 6-8 weeks which would mean I'd be back to normal by now but I've probably prolonged it just from being on my feet, let alone jumping. Only this most recent session have I felt some sort of consistency, coordination and progress even though it felt pretty shit to just keep missing heaps of new dunks (not in this video).

Always a pleasure to see you dunk. Keep up the good stuff! God bless.

Right now along with 2-3 dunk sessions a week I'm focusing on heavy lifting for a 3-4 week period, then switching to plyometrics for another few weeks. Stretching and foam rolling every day too.
To get to my 45+ inch vertical 3 years ago it was all from dunking 2-3 days a week and some occasional plyometric work across 3-4 years.
