Congratulations on reaching 35,000 subscribers. My dad, who’s a hunter, told me that the special tool on the Hunter knife at 22:09 is indeed intended for skinning and gutting animals. I’m going to have to keep the Mini Champ knife at 26:02 in mind if I were to want to buy one.
You do a fantastic job with your videos, Eric. Love the other hobbies you're into alongside your hobby for trains. Can't wait for Ep. 73. Hope you are doing well.
The Zippo's are awesome Eric. I don't smoke, but I almost went down that collectors path three decades ago. Still have several that I really liked. Thanks for sharing! My brother still has his first Swiss army knife. Again, thanks for sharing!
Eric a great vid. Many of us train collector's have many other collections. I joined the TCA in 69 but was a collector of treasures before that. Nice to know you are too. Great work and I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of your collections!
Awesome Zippo and knife collection thanks for sharing ! I have a small collection of rare US money and a large matchbox cars collection I started in the 1960's I have a few Zippos too
That blade at 17:20 I think is used for stripping wires. Think called an electrician. You should check out the Pioneer X. Only alox one I know of with scissors, and that I think is my hands down favorite tool that Victorinox makes. Thanks for the vid
I really enjoyed seeing both the Zippo and Swiss Army Knife collections. You certainly have some nice examples in both of them. I have what may be considered a unique Zippo lighter that possibly you might want to add to your collection. How would you prefer that I contact you with the information? Looking forward to seeing some of your other hobbies and collections.
Excellent video Eric ! I love the mini champ but unfortunately I forgot to take it off my key ring before I went through the security line at the airport. I’m sure it made some security person really happy.
Hi that knife with the clock in it is really cool. Having said that I hope you removed the dead battery so it doesn’t leak inside that awesome knife. I’m sure you removed it but thought I’d say something just in case. Id hate to see your knife ruined. Have a good one and thanks for sharing your collection with us! 👍
Eric, i enjoy your videos no matter what the topic is. its your channel, you do what you do. its amazing the content you have and you worked to get where you are on youtube today. keep up the good work
that thumb nail , really had me thinking .. decoder install. lol . what a great video. i wish i had more free time for more than one hobby. great insite,, wtg on writing for the magazine. youtube meet and greet at Steamtown National historic site.May 18 be great if you can make it also
Great video Eric and it's funny because I collect knifes, and zappos but the other bigger things would be coins collectibles, and the biggest one is trains.
I was wondering something, is there an easy way to tell whether a Swiss Army knife is an original or a copy? I have one that was given to me by my uncle, but I'm not sure if it's original. Thanks
Yes. The easiest method is by reading what's inscribed on the tang (bottom) of the main blade. For example, it might say "Victorinox Switzerland Stainless Rostfrei". If you take a look and tell me exactly what it says, I'll tell you what you've got.
@@Ericstrains Well, I just figured out its a complete fake. The Blade is made in China and the Logo is completely wrong. Kinda Sad about that. I do have my great grandpas Zippo though, so that helps me feel a bit better. Thanks for the help though.
I know this is a weird question but what is the rare MTH D.A.P. Norfolk Southern OCS full set worth? I was just wondering, even though I know It is way out of my price range.
I got one of those Little Classic Swiss army Knives in a set with a pair of Binoculars as a gift from my job for five years of service. I had the choice of that or some other items that seemed to be either Much cheaper or designed for women so I picked this. I have not as of yet used it for anything of merit.
My dad gave me an Alpineer back in the early 80s, or late 70s. It's completely different than the new Alpineer. Unfortunately I lost it at LSU about 1990. I'm still upset about that.

@@Ericstrains You're very welcome.
I love it how Eric doesn't care if people complain over stupid things. Good on you Eric keep up the great work.
When he started on the John Deere zippos his inner southern accent came out for hot second that made the whole video😂😂.
The Zippo's are awesome Eric.

Sweet. Thanks!

Yep, that's what it's for...I just couldn't remember off the top of my head. I'll check out the Pioneer X. Thanks!

Yeah, they've been removed on all of them
Hey man. I went to York, PA this last week. Cool train show
Wait did menards actually start making locomotives or is it just their rolling stock
They make rolling stock, track and structures.
ericstrains ok yeah that’s what I though but just as a warning their curve radius’s aren’t correct
The menards curve radius for 072 was spot on with lionel
Eric, i enjoy your videos no matter what the topic is. its your channel, you do what you do. its amazing the content you have and you worked to get where you are on youtube today. keep up the good work

I really want to see your dad's Lionel postwar trains for episode 73.
There's not much to see, they're in pretty bad shape.
I Would Like you To Show Those trains in episode 73 even if they are in bad shape.
I like both collections, you're definitely on The Cutting Edge. LOL 🐢🚂🇺🇸🐢🚂🇺🇸🐢🚂🇺🇸
I have had many a rash on my upper legs from those dang lighters. Ha Ha
Great video Eric and it's funny because I collect knifes, and zappos but the other bigger things would be coins collectibles, and the biggest one is trains.
Congratulations on 35k!
That’s a nice collection. Congrats on 35K!
Nice video Eric! It's nice to see some of the things that dont always get the spotlight
Congrats on 35K subscribers!
And also congratulations on the 35k subscribers
You should get a Zippo that has the Lionel LLC logo on it that's what I got
What is your most absolute favorite famous train new or old but yeah what is your favorite engine ever?
I don't have an absolute favorite.

It's worth whatever someone is willing to pay I guess. :-)
I love the Zippo's! The factory is a few hours north of me.
Liking the split away from the normal type of video
Eric really enjoy your vids and your passion. Ok to divert us away

Finally a video that matches the minimum curve on your layout! LOL
Ha, that took me a minute to figure out. Good one.
Congrats! 35,000!
Congrats on 35k subs Eric
Nice other collections
Can you next do one on train DVD's
I found another zippo for 54 bucks. It’s a diamond plated zippo from supreme. It is already sold out so check ebay
My dad gave me an Alpineer back in the early 80s, or late 70s. It's completely different than the new Alpineer. Unfortunately I lost it at LSU about 1990. I'm still upset about that.

Have
This is great erictrains I love it
love the video!
Make videos of all your collections!
I was like 😳 when the EL-2B showed up.
I want that xxlt that thing is perfect. Lol super expensive though.
I hunt a variety of animals and I can verify that one blade isn’t meant for skinning never use a serrated blade
Yeah, most skinning knives I've ever seen had a convex non-serrated blade, so I'm not sure exactly what they had in mind.
ericstrains this is a odd question but how do you control dust on your layout. Do you use a air filter or dust by hand?
Theo air dusters, hand dusters and vacuuming
Eric Siegel oh you go all out against dust lol. You should make a tutorial showing how you do it just a idea
cool I know most people that collect certain things collect many things thanks
Do livesteam videos eric come on
