Another reader said I grow a plant on my own because that will teach me a lot. That didn't go over well but I'm willing to try again because plants bring me so much joy. Recently, a lotus plant bloomed outside my mom's place and that in and of itself brought me so much joy. It hasn't bloomed again but I think I want to care for her :)

Everything you said about fire in #1 describes my relationship with those challenging emotions, particularly anger. I have a love hate relationship with anger and I've had to do hard work with anger through my dark night of the soul.
