@atmkws. The location is called, "Wilshire Colonnade" in LA. I went there and the plaza, from point A to point B is looong! I was impressed that TG and RM ran across it as if it was nothing. Around the fountain, it can get wet, and again, I was impressed that GF ran around there in those wedge shoes. I gained even more respect for them when I went there. (BTW- it is a really nice place to visit, and no-the statue was not there!)
WOW! there's nothing quite like Luke in action when he thinks Laura' in danger! As for Hutch, when you tell that many lies, eventually he was bound to mess up. Luke telling Hutch that he got him absolutely has a double meaning. When they were goofing around you could tell that all Luke really wanted to do was punch Hutch.
Luke is so frantic when he knows Sally is with Laura. The idea that he would ever not put Laura first is outrageous. I always thought she could outlive him but he would not survive losing her. Well, maybe in a way he didn't.
No you are so right before Luke/TG left for good .. never to return plus Laura was in Paris if I’am not mistaken here he was with Tracy right. So Luke married her for the second time and now as I understand it left to live in what Amsterdam. See my feeling is he maybe be there with ...his aah yeah wife. Luke’s heart is not there with her’s. His heart GH fan’s is with and always will be right where it was from the very first time he put his baby blues on her angle face......His one and only true Love his (Luke’s) LAURA. His heart will always be there too. JMVHO. Rosie

Yep, TG deserved his 8 Emmys for sure! The outdoor shots were great! I think this was the first time they filmed on location. This made the scene much more believable and exciting! Even the night in the Dept store was filmed in a real department store!Gloria Monty brought some great innovations to the show, and the storyline and acting were stellar! These were the glory days of GH!
“Just let some of dat French charm on de lady, monsieur Robert’” coupled with the screeching tires. Like Luke’s acting is so good here . . . taking it all in as he takes Hutch’s hand off of his shoulder. Desperate and cornered Luke is one on my favorites to watch!
I vividly remember watching this scene and previous one when I was 9 years old. Wanted to watch cartoons but Mom had this on when school was out. Had kinda half watched with her over the summer, but didn't get completely hooked( a soap addict at 9 lol) until seeing Sally take off that wig with Luke hiding in closet. Thanks so much for putting these up! Never thought I'd see these scenes again. And I could never understand why Luke seemed to relax and go off with Hutch until rewatching and your comment. Luke figures out Hutch is hitman also because of the Monsieur Robiere comment! Holy mackerel!! After 37 years, the light dawns!! I'm having so much fun watching!

It's like finding an out of print book you read once as a child, but never thought you'd see again. Dream-like. This storyline got me, though, and kept me watching for 10 years plus. Tony Geary was just electric and Genie Francis was one of my first crushes. Comedic timing, subtlety, they had it. I vaguely remember David Gray and running home from school hoping against hope Laura wasn't dead. Sorry to ramble. This is only 2nd time commenting to anybody. lol Had a tablet for a couple years, but kinda introverted. Just so happy to see these had to comment and thank you again! Also justifies my memories. So well written and acted. This and comic books got me hooked on cliffhangers and continuity.
Luke's afro was really blowin' in the wind. LOL. Love the outside shots! "GIMME THAT BICYCLE!" lol Did the person get off the bike or what? I would have pedaled away into traffic. Luke was running around like a madman. Anything for Laura! :-)
Oh, the 'fro! That 'do didn't look good on anyone (me included!). Luke looked so much better when he cut his hair short, and even when he practically shaved his head! He's had some ah, unusual hairstyles over the years. Remember the Dutch boy cut? Now that he's in Amsterdam, he can wear it proudly!
Trying to picture how in the world the various cameras are place to keep up with all the running, twisting, turning, looking over his shoulder, etc. etc. how they keep the camera out of the picture... like you say, the production is stellar.
Whenever I watch location scenes like this, I usually watch several times to check out camera angles, lighting, etc. Freeze this video at 4:14 and tell me what you see...

Ooh yeah, it's all about to go down! Hutch got sloppy. The dude playing Sally walks very well in heals. He doesn't make a bad looking chick, he just talks like a cartoon character.
TG is a superb actor. These scenes with TG are the ones i go back to, to see the brilliance of his acting. Were an eye opener to how great he was. His and Hutch from this to the car screeching, to the bar, were brilliant.
Did you hear after Hutch made his comment about Wyndhams, you could hear a car's brake screech or something...almost as if Luke's mind was screaming "HOLD IT! What did you just say?" lol Weird...and perhaps unintended sound effect. It fit the scene anyway!
I never caught the French and Hutch referring to “Monsieur Robert’” till just now!! 43 years later!!! I just thought everything clicked in Luke’s suspicious mind! Oh how fantastic!! The look in Luke’s eyes, the realization that his trusted friend is a hit man!! The night watchman, the burning papers, the card game, everything falling into place!! I love this. It is just like GM too, but it is so split second and the squealing brakes are priceless! TG at his best❤️❤️ ❤

He knows the LHB wants Laura dead, too." I wondered about that too. I still haven't figured that one out even after watching the playlist several times. ETA It still bugs me because no one seems to know the answer to this.
This is such fun, and TG is very good (and sexy, too) here. I didn't hear what Hutch said, but the change in Luke's behavior was so well done, I knew that the penny had finally dropped. Who needs Netflix? Thanks, sussezq!
He referred to him as Robert the French hairdresser he pretended to be in the department store. He knows now that Hutch was there watching and that he is the original hit man.
Michelle Anastasio Vic Gower is not Hutch, he was sent out later by Smith to kill Hutch (and Luke/Laura) when Smith realized Hutch went back on the deal. Hutch killed Vic out in the cornfield, after he and Luke caught him in the barn. Luke and Laura thought he just left him unconscious, tied up, they didn't realize Hutch killed him. (they had left ahead of Hutch to go to Fair Oaks, and Hutch "reassured" them he would take care of Gower.
I loved it too! It was like a physical repulsion of the treachery of Hutch pretending to be a friend to “put him in a drawer,” as Luke would say. It was a subtle move that Hutch never picked up on but we saw the visceral response of Luke. Love Luke!!

I just saw a movie from 1995 that starred Genie Francis. It is called Terror in the Shadows. It is a thriller and she is so good in it. If you haven't seen it, you should. She is such a gifted actress.

GH Fever The only thing I can think of, is that once Luke realizes Hutch is dangerous, he has to take a second look, and figure things out, if he is not careful, and Hutch does something to him, he can't help Laura... also, he doesn't know where they went shopping/where the bus was headed to... Hutch was his hope of finding out and now that avenue is closed...
"Laura....I'm going to France with you. No excuses." Oops. Back to reality. That didn't happen did it. ;-) No on-the-run adventures in France with Scott on their tail. Dang. lol

Ok so Luke figures out that Hutch is the hit man who killed the security guard at Wyndam's. Does that have any bearing on the fact that he stops panicking over Laura being with Sally?(Luke knows he/she is a hit man too, right?) I am trying to understand why all of a sudden he stopped worrying and can't figure it out.

GH Fever The only thing I can think of, is that once Luke realizes Hutch is dangerous, he has to take a second look, and figure things out, if he is not careful, and Hutch does something to him, he can't help Laura... also, he doesn't know where they went shopping/where the bus was headed to... Hutch was his hope of finding out and now that avenue is closed...

that was the camera people , it happened so fast that they were in the shot. they talked about it on a documentary . The Laura double was the music director.

Ok so Luke figures out that Hutch is the hit man who killed the security guard at Wyndam's. Does that have any bearing on the fact that he stops panicking over Laura being with Sally?(Luke knows he/she is a hit man too, right?) I am trying to understand why all of a sudden he stopped worrying and can't figure it out.
+GH “LL 2GETHER” Fever I don't think he stopped worrying at all... I think he is in problem solving mode... now he knows what he is dealing with and he is in deep, complex thought about what to do about it. Panicking won't help anyone... Luke never panics.
Luke heard his voice when he spoke in the French accent around 5:00 minutes in and remembered his voice was the voice on the phone as the hit man...
singers333 No that's not actually it... Hutch mentions (and speaks like) the French hairdresser that Luke impersonated at Wyndham's. Luke realizes that they hadn't actually met Hutch yet at that time so he must have been there in the store with them. that night.
