I love everyone criticizing scrap metal for looking ridiculous as if the rest of the constructicons don’t look just as obscure and ridiculous as he does haha. Like yeah he looks crazy, but have we forgotten how weird looking big wheel boy scavenger and one legged rampage are? The only difference is we’re used to those guys because we’ve known them for 12 years.
I’m pretty sure the Hightower figure in the video is slightly mistransformed and displayed weirdly, looking at the grey versions it appears that the connector on the back can be brought up, it also looks to be a hinge on the back of the figure in the video for the same purpose
The problem is we never got the second guy. Currently Hasbro is calling it good with the Hightower/Scrapmetal arm. We need the second guy to have a slightly more accurate arm.
I have the first three, and the fourth is on it's way. I must say that only the first one (Split) was a real pain in the ass. The second one (Smash) was already a bit easier (though the part with the wheels and springs is a bit confusing sometimes) and the third one (Giant Axe) is pretty simple. Only Split feels fragile.
Out of the two Hightower figures that I would know of (not the legends class), I'd actually think the Devil Saviour Paranoider would look better with the arms of the Studio Series Version, and if he wasn't as short and Stalks as he is. AND if his head wasn't so squished.
I'm glad Scrapmetal was a small bulldozer. Although not movie accurate to the excavator but accurate to that small bulldozer during Devastator's combination.
I can't get over how good the music is for these videos. This musuc here reminds me of the upbeat music of the early 80's. Earth, Wind and Fire comes to mind.
I want to buy these 2 because I LOVE both of their vehicle modes...can't really say the same about their robot forms unfortunately. The only way I'll get them is if the price goes way down. The weird part about this though, is that I also like their Devastator limb modes because they look like steam punk type siege weapons. At least there are 2 possible forms I can display these in Lol.
Just a note: this is not Scrapmetal:As per the movie Scrapmetal transforms in a Volvo EC700 excavator. In the movie, the hand is NOT Scrapmetal, but this unknown bulldozer which could be Buckethead. For some reason, in the studio series’s Devastator, they decided that Scrapmetal was going to be the hand, but in the movie Scrapmetal is not part of Devastator
In the world of Transformers, nothing is what it seems. Meet the Constructicons. Six evil Decepticons who transforms into one mechanical giant. It’s Devastator! Six Constructicons in one. Devastator is attacking! Transformers each sold separately from Hasbro.
It’s the evil Constructicons. Decepticon vehicles built to destroy planet Earth. More than meets the eye, they are robots in disguise and the Constructicons combine to form the dreaded Devastator for really big destruction. Transformers: Devastation. Scrapper and the Constructicons sold separately from Hasbro.
These Bayformers look terrible - I can’t believe the same design department which mandated Optimus Prime have a moving mouth then went and made literally every other robot look like a locust-monster.
I mean, they have some design decisions that on paper are good, like the decepticons having more alien faces and little design quirks but in action they all look like piles of different coloured trash smashing together. The ideas are alright, and if done properly could’ve looked good, but the execution was so bad it ruined any good ideas
I’d say then main problem is that they end up being so over designed that they couldn’t be rendered for more than 5 minutes at a time without melting down the servers (no joke, look up what rendering Devastater did.). It also means no characterisation or personality for the characters like in other media. So they end up being catchphrase spewing sociopaths or snarling beasts, and their interactions and differing ideologies amounts to nothing more than ripping each other to shreds. Not to mention that everything between the Cybertronian screen time is absolutely insufferable. The Bumblebee movie is a step in the right direction, mostly by ditching Michael Bay, frontloading the prologue with more fanservice than a beach episode and having the premise be “Herbie the Lovebug if he had the ability to become a larger than average Android”.
@UCSqRCpuib_w6-LPnM2BrJTg Mate the designs in the movies are horrible. I don’t even care about G1, they just look horrible. All the same colour, all over complicated, all ugly and not nice to look at. Some look alright, like Optimus, Bumblebee and Blackout. But the rest just fade into the background and are so replaceable that they reuse character models all the time. Just because you don’t like something new doesn’t make you a purist.
I think it’s symbolic since the Decepticons were voracious to their homeland, they will also be rampantly destructive to earth, and thus they look like locusts.
Yeah and same I can’t wait to get them all at once so I can have them as a set when I get them like have them as a set when they are all released to buy them all at once
Because the hand is not a scrapmetal. Is another bot without name. Hasbro only give the hand a name (scrapmetal) and take a concept art of him but in reality, scrapmetal goes with rampage to combine and create a complete leg. And of course, payload is in the transformation on the movie, so we don't have 8 constructicons, they are 10 in total.
Actually, 3 characters make up the left arm. Scrapmetal makes up the upper arm, because you can see another set of treads. Hightowere makes up the majority, and the Hand (presumably buckethead).
still missing Devastators right arm to complete the look for number 5 of the DS videos since it looked to have been skipped, hmmm i keep looking at a different video and it looks like high tower can be the right arm as well cause one version scrap metal is missing, man its just so confusing to figure out which bot is missing to complete the look of devastator.
