On the last minute, the aircheck at 2:17 has to be July 3rd, 1985. On that day, one inch hail was reported by the public during an afternoon thunderstorm on the northwest side of Houston (Harris County) near the intersection of US Highway 290 and Tidwell Road. No damage was reported during the Severe Thunderstorm Warning.
@ponchofanatic, you got that right, sir! i remember KRBE on my way to either louisiana, or mississippi. i could even pick up KRBE in gulfport, MS real clear.
now, KRBE as a classic hits 80's/90's station, that would be great! that may get the eagle replaced, maybe have 107.5 go back to oldies, and leave KRBE as the classic hits powerhouse.
you know, that wouldn't be such a bad idea. I mean come on, you've already got another top 40 station in Houston already on 95.7, the idea of KRBE going classic hits should be a good one. if they took the cue from KWNZ, which is a hit up in reno, it's playing songs that haven't been heard on radio in a long time.
my favorite station
Love this. But they sure did remind you every 2 minutes that you were listing to 104 KRBE.
They should start playing this music again. I would probably listen to Houston radio again. I quit listening to 104 in about 1999.

This was during the Hot Hits days in mid 85 when they flipped from AC back to top 40. This was before they became Power 104

Yes-Matt Allen left KRBE in Houston early in 1987 to accept an on-air position at "Z-100" in New York City.
This is WAPP 103 JINGLE
It would be nice to hear a recording from KRBE's "Live from The Ocean Club".
That was the place to be

...Also, throw in a few hits from the '60s & '70s as well. The Eagle sounds more like classic rock. 104 should be a REAL classic hits station.
Is this when KRBE acutually played good music back then.LMAO! Because the new KRBE sucks compared to this.
