I was thinking something similar, but let's consider: maybe now, as a parent, he's reassessing his overachieving lifestyle as a teen. Maybe he's realized that he was miserable while working himself through school. Maybe he's happy to know that his kids don't have to push themselves like he had to. Don't get me wrong, Addison is definitely a privileged rich kid, dropping out of high school and being given an expensive restaurant by his parents. But it kind of seems like he's the first Bigwallet kid to be given _anything_ by his parents (I'm thinking of Lord and Richie as other exceptions, but they never started with 0 because they never moved out). Which is kind of nice. It's a very strange dynamic this family has - every generation is rich and successful, but it's not (usually) generational wealth.
I think Reginald always dreamed of running his own business (thrift store), but sold out for the big money. So now he wants to live his dreams through his son.
That does seem to be the case. When I was putting a Sim through that aspiration, having them be very inspired seemed to greatly increase the chances of knitting a legendary item.
Also cloud/stargaze! It only takes like a sim minute to get inspired and the stronger the boost, the better! OR since Kev is into yoga: Get the max mindfulness moodlet and "surge emotion" with inspired, it gives a +10 inspired mood that lasts for hours!
This series is what's keeping me sane during the chaotic holiday season, please don't ever stop As for the teacher - you can download NPC teachers, janitors, etc from the gallery and they will show up to work at the school. If you use the more students mod you can even assign them to the kids' class. And for Breanne's photos you can use the Moschino set up, those pictures always turn out so good for me :)

FYI, LittleMsSam has an Automatic Stereos mod that has your Sim turn off the stereo and TV after they’re done using it. No more waking yourself up because you left the radio on!
I think Nina was a dropout, if not 'technically', since she was pre-HSY. What Addison is, is breaking Bigwallet tradition by Daddy buying them a restaurant and pumping money into it, instead of being put out penniless into the world to make their own way in life.

I don't know if anyone already commented this but if you want to make potions as a group, you have to start the potion and then while making it, click the cauldron and it comes up saying, ask to join or something of that nature. If they are already making one, you can also join them. Hope this helps if he wants to make potions with his mother!

That detention is almost as bad as getting grounded in Sims 3 and then having to sneak out to go to school and getting in trouble if you get caught but also getting in trouble if you don't sneak out and skip school.
You know that once you hit 'A' in High School you start getting calls every day allowing you to graduate early. If you do this, it doesn't age you up and you can even go to college as a teen
I watched this video yesterday but had a thought this morning about the restaurant. Addison could spend some time in Batuu to learn the food and drink recipes there, so he could offer them in his restaurant. Or could he simply place them on his menu without having learned the recipes first? Can't wait to see how the new restaurant runs!
Irl I know someone could style it really cool but in the sims, especially when using the limited items in the thrift store, I never know what to do with it. I also wish it came in other colors/patterns because I like the cut of it.

To try and convince the community that the high school I went to needed brand new gym renovations, a new pool, and new fitness gear, they decided to create a community gym membership so community members can use the fitness equipment at very odd hours (definitely not when school is in session). On top of this, when I was in high school (years and years ago, but after Columbine), the high school decided to open its doors to the public, so the seniors could use our hallways for walking - WHILE SCHOOL IS IN SESSION. So Addison just hanging out at the high school isn't completely bizarre.

The exact quality and value of a crafted item is random, but the higher your skill level, the more the RNG leans in the favour of higher quality/value. Your percentage chance of Excellent or Legendary quality knitted items increases with the Knitting Skill. Works the same way with every ranked item, such as woodcrafts, paintings, etc. (except crops because that's determined by evolution level.)

A suggestion with what to do with the teacher your trying to get rid of. There was a mod you used with Column when she was learning to be a spellcaster called More deadly spells I believe. Then get Column to kill him.
Kevin and Reginald should go on a vacation the weekend of prom so Breanne and Addison can throw a giant party afterwards to complete her aspiration. You could make the top mezzanine in the restaurant to be a stage so Addison can play guitar for his guests (and you could still have the stairs be part of the apartment instead of the restaurant).

To get legendary quality more often put Kevin's preferred music on and knit while he's inspired. This helped me with my sim
You will have a much better chance of knitting legendary knittables if Kevin is inspired while knitting.
