    I absolutely love this knife. It's got to the point where I'm about to break one of my rules about not buying duplicates... It seemed like a lot of money for a knife, but after months of EDC in the construction industry, this thing is well worth it. If Nick says it isn't a gem and anyone wants to sell theirs off, I could use another just so I can see how far I can push this beast before she can't take it anymore. It replaced my Sebenza as an EDC work knife and I haven't looked back.

    What a great knife. Probably, my all-around favorite in the past few years. It is at the peak of fit, finish and function in it's price range. I can't imagine a better made knife for the money. And to me, it's a great design. But that is very subjective. Good people to work with also. The maker is as important to me as the product.

    I bought one with the milling on the titanium handles and love it. Gonna watch your review next.

    Beautiful knife.. Simple is good..I like how they did the D bolt pivot.. The flipper tab looks well done too..
    I'm careful with my knife purchases now.. There's no excuse for cheap screws (T6's) and free spinning pivots.. But, I'll never (probably) buy a custom.. Something in the $250ish range and below is good enough..I can still get the same materials..No big deal to me if a knife falls shut a little smoother etc..There's a lot of good knives and competition now..

    Beautiful knife... The fit and finish are truly top notch... I have to agree though that they could have embellished it a bit with some type of personalized touch like my Olamic knife... With the knife open, when you look between the scales at the backspacer, you see "WAYFARER 24/7 - 1501" ... Kind of cool... Also... I think they could have used a little more exotic blade steel... I have the CTS-XHP on my Spyderco that cost me $120... M390 or something comparable would have been nice... Especially considering the price...

    I REALLY like what I've seen of this knife, and I know it's pretty much just short of perfect from reviews, but I can't justify the price under any circumstances with my current budget. I have never spent more than $350 and at least for the moment I don't intend to start.

    • @slidetek
      @slidetek 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can find a lot of very nice knives for $350! Even the new Chuprin/Reate collaboration is $325, and looks like a real winner. IMHO this is one of the very few knives that lives up to the hype. My Gen 2 is off for review, and I was actually excited to hear somebody didn't like it! Sadly, it appears they've changed their mind. LOL!

    I own the dlc 204p version. I love it, it’s just a bit heavy only gripe. Some interior milking could have gone a long way on it! But I do love it.

      They're OK. Cheap movements in expensive cases. But usually for the price, you can do better.

  • @westsenkovec
    @westsenkovec 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Mine has a frame mounted stop pin and a cutout in the blade so it's a classic internal stop pin.

  • @bamabladez

    Seriously what makes these so expensive? Tolerances? Ive never handled one but does the action justify the price. If so why can't a 150 knife do the same? Aren't knives made with cnc machines. Interesting

  • @cloudcleaver23

    That's a really handsome knife, but the lanyard hole looks hot-spotty. I increasingly wish makers would just stop putting lanyard holes on knives, as they do nothing but increase handle size and make the knife harder to deep carry.

    • @stainlessfour5
      @stainlessfour5 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      cloudcleaver23 it really isn't. I own one and don't find any hotspot in that area. But you're right. I could do without the hole.

    • @slidetek
      @slidetek 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agree, I've got big hands and the butt of knives is normally a _bone of contention._ For instance, the Kizer Critical has eaten a hole in my palm. I see that I'm not alone on that, a lot of people are grinding this down, or mokuti versions are rounded off. Anyway, recommend getting one in hand ASAP if it fits your budget. BTW, I'm getting a Effenberk built, and _skipping_ the lanyard backspacer! Lanyards are a religion with some though! The bead, the bead...

    This looks pricey...
    I am more of a value/practicality kind of person, there are some $30 knives that frankly impress me more then some $1000 knives.
    and without looking at the price this knife is over $400
    frankly if I decide I can't live with the fit and finish or blade steel of a $50 titanium handle/framelock flipper, I would up the bounty to $150 and even that may be an insane decision, hard to justify going up to $300 let alone $400? $500? at what point should a knife come with a voucher book for several happy endings?
    Then again I am someone with more Sense then money, I wish I in the other category but I digress.

      The "$" goes before the amount. Example $300.00

    • @RichisParker
      @RichisParker 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good thing there are different knives at different price points so you aren't forced to buy a $400.00 knife right? Free market and Koenig is filling that high end demand.

      JS Krawz They occasionally do use other steels, mine is in CTS-204p(M390/20CV equivalent), my favorite.
