I’m glad Curtis Jones received his first senior cap for England. He’s the type of midfielder who doesn’t show up on the stat sheet too often. But he’s played an integral role for Liverpool over the past few seasons connecting play, keeping possession, and constantly pressing. He’s the type of possession and connector player that England need to develop more of in the midfield if they want to truly dictate and dominate matches against elite sides. I’m not saying Jones himself is that guy but he’s the type of profile I want to see more from England’s midfield. And his fantastic flick goal today was very well taken.
Curtis single performance against Greece playing as holding midfielder was much better than Rice's entire career playing in that role but still the game was just against Greece, so let's wait until Curtis do that performance again against top opposition like Spain or France.
Curtis has much better close control and better at holding on to the ball while turn around from back to goal compared to Rice but still the game was just against Greece so let's wait until Curtis do it against Spain or Germany before we can confirm that Curtis is better playing at holding midfielder than Rice.
I didn't notice Adrian Durham admitting he was completely wrong before the game. Which is fair enough, considering the garbage that was served up a month ago. However, he talked about how the camp was broke before the game , and it had ruined all that had been built up during the summer - with Southgate- who he was slagging off through the whole tournament. The guy is a disingenuous pratt.
Top class performance, looks rosy for Tuchel, big call leaving Kane out, Curtis Jones excellent, Carsley picks right players this time out, width a big factor tonight.
I saw a different Bellingham with and without Kane on the field. Jude become Jude without Kane playing but become mediocre everytime Kane on the field so yes it is great time for Tuchel to leave Kane out for the best of the team going forward.
@@ronnyron4681 I think he,;ll pick Kane next time out though v Ireland (Personal opinion) We should win whoever starts tbh, very interesting to see what Tuchel does with these, Carsley very close to getting tunes out of this team IMO, He has experimented, didn't come off last time, dropouts have forced his hand, entering an exciting time England supporters now, given Tuchels credentials I can only see this getting better.
1 thing u get from jones is work rate and he can run for ever, will be there to def and be in midfield and some times gets in side the box too. he just needs to stay clear of injuries now since his game is there
Saka is better at movement, team play, and crossing but Madueke is much better at take-ons 1v1 and Through ball. They are very important type of players for England going forward, just playing each of them according to tactical play and the type of opposition.
Curtis Jones - 1 goal - 96% passing accuracy (65/68) - 7 duels won - 7x possession won - 4 tackles - 2 fouls won - 1 interception Rice needs to up his game…
I'm a firm believer that some players are suited to international football. I also believe just because you do well for your club dosnt mean you do well at international level

@ronnyron4681 they lost to Greece 1 month ago
Hear that everyone? ChatGPT is glad Curtis Jones received his first senior cap for England. We're all very relieved to hear that, thanks ChatGPT.
@Soul_Flame
Too funny. Thanks for the nickname. I appreciate it.
Lewis Hall the future Left Back of England. Phenomenal player
Curtis. Take a bow. Best Red over Xmas and New Year last year. Pure class. Keeps it simple. Take the ball on the turn. Got the eye for a pass.
Pickford deserved a mention, he pulled off some great saves tonight

... there's a reason why England won the U21 Euros in 2023... Curtis Jones

Hall was decent at left back! With Shaw being made out of polystyrene it’s reassuring to see we’ve got his replacement
Curtis he plays very confidently and arrogantly for a debut, a mental monster

I'm actually concerned that Curtis Jones played the full match given his injury/fitness concerns..
But that was a great goal
Jones is the type of player needed in the squad.
Curtis Jones
- 1 goal
- 96% passing accuracy (65/68)
- 7 duels won
- 7x possession won
- 4 tackles
- 2 fouls won
- 1 interception
Rice needs to up his game…
I dunno its only one game. You could say maybe for the next his defo in contention for but its just one match.
Agree, play Walker at CB
Curtis Jones doing a Firmino goal 😂
This is one game, we have won the world cup. Yes they played well but let's get a sense of proportion.
The international break is utter garbage.
Oh jog on
@@andrewjoyce9038 lol
Foden should be on the bench. Kane - an impact sub off bench. Lewis-Hall and Gordon in.
Not much comp TBF although unbeaten before the match.
Should of started kane.
