Max Mercury is a speedster who used to go by Quicksilver in the golden age. He was one of those characters that DC got from Quality, the company that published Blackhawk, Phantom Lady and Plastic Man (among others) in the 40s. In the 90s, Quicksilver was brought back by Mark Waid during his run on Flash, but with another name (for obvious reasons), Max Mercury, who became a regular member of the Flash's (Wally West) supporting cast, and even became a sot of father figure for Impulse at the time. He was also one of the earliest figures released by the old DC Direct, way back in the late 90s, when they just launched.
Max Mercury was an old character in National Comics (a title at Quality Comics - yeah, that's always confusing). He had a slightly different costume back then. He was originally named Quicksilver back then. When DC got the rights to him in the early 90s, they changed his name to Max Mercury because Marvel had a speedster named Quicksilver. The figure is pretty accurate to his DC costume.
I might have to pick up that new 1/12th scale Kier figure from the Boss Fight Court of the Dead stuff. I didn't care for the 1/18th scale versions they did, but I did pick up a couple of versions of the 1/6th scale that came from Sideshow directly.
Big Gridman anime fan here. Rikka never wore that armor (which is based on the titular character) in the film. It pretty much is just for fun as they have been giving the Gridman universe girls random clothes to wear in art a lot. She is also a Hyper Body figure which basically means she herself is a Figma esque figure but the Gridman parts is a model kit.
Maul with the speeder is the only Hasbro SDCC offering I want, but I'm hesitant given that I already have that exact maul on P/O for about £10 more with Obi-Wan AND Qui Gon instead of a speeder... ⚖️ 🤦
U left GIJoe at a weird point. That has the first and last appearance of Cobra LA. They went back grounded storylines. But the original series ended with the movie as well. There was another show that picked up but had a different production company and voice actors. From what I saw there was one storyline "Dragonfire" which showed how Cobra Commander got a human form back and that body armor

Is this title a reference to the original Transformers movie, and the curse word that was removed from the home version? That really messed with me when I was a kid, and there was no way to prove it happened in the pre-internet days.

That wasn't a 1/12 scale "Samurai" figure.......it's a figure based on a very famous historical figure from the Three Kingdoms Era of ancient China. You need to get these right or you'll offend a lot of people Dave.
Death's Head is only $40? How does Hasbro justify that outrageous overpriced $60 for Odin? Hasbro started out 2024 looking good, but now they're spiraling downhill...back to their same old failings. Whiplash with a whip that was so poorly designed he literally cannot hold it with one hand, a Strange Tales wave featuring no Strange Tales characters, and now a ridiculously overpriced $60 Odin. So much for Hasbro improving for 2024.

Big Bronson Reed would be a Vader equivalent. Also Ivar (who’s injured at the moment). Those are big beefy dudes in the current WWE.
You’re right about the beef. But I feel they lack the aura. It would help if they got more sustained pushes so they could look like proper monsters.
