  • Hello everyone & welcome to Viddu's Pot2Pan.
Today I have posted a video on how to clean your granite/stone Mortar & pestle before its first use. Mortar and pestle is one of the must have kitchen tool. They have been used since stone age to present days to prepare varieties of spice powders & paste.
The new Mortar & pestle have lot of fine dust/ grit and uneven surface. We need to smoothen and clean them. All the ingredients used for grinding needs to be discarded as they will be full of fine dust particles. You need not do all this in one day. As and when you get time you can do this. You can use plain coconut fiber to scrub. The new Mortar and pestle will have an earthy flavor. To get rid off it use strong flavored spices like onion, ginger, garlic or green chillies. you can use them in lesser quantities and discard them. since I planned to prepare an pesticide for my plants, I have used all the ingredients in excess.. Hope you like my today's video

Thank you Tanya! Soak the ginger garlic and chilli paste mixture in 2 liters of cows urine or water and leave it for 3 days. Open the lid once a day and stir well for the air to escape. After 3days you can filter the mixture and use 10ml for a liter of water and spray it on leaves. Protects plants from few bugs.

Better if you can use sesame oil. If you don't get it in your place you can use any edible oil.
