    Wow! That hull is cleaning up nice! Plus, no hole outs. Great to see you taking the time to get things perfect before moving on. Good choices on materials too. The more wood you can eliminate, the better!

      Exactly! No wood will be left after it’s all done 👍 (except the hardtop) no worries anymore! It came out a lot nicer than expected!

    I started watching your videos in late March 2022, 9 months after you started. Very impressed with the change in you. Very maturing experience for you. Your self confidence has grown enormous as the project progressed. congratulations. I will continue to watch if you finish. Congratulations on your new daughter!

    Impressive! Your boat should turn out better than the builder intended! Some foam added would be great for insulation, an buoyancy making it a unsinkable Titanic. If you’re already there, do as much as you can to make it the boat of your dreams, and a boat that will last you a lifetime! Your dad will be jealous of how well your boat is rebuilt .

      Thank you! The plan is to have a foam core and fill some cavities for noise and insulation for the fish box 👍

One like this - even in the same condition dont come up around here, so living my life through your vids. Keep up the work, at the end of the day you will be over the moon once done. Good job man. We usually just drain our anchor lockers straight overboard. 2 one inch pieces of glass tubing angled aft and down will keep it drained at all times and it can't really ever get clogged. I feel like I am at work watching your vids.

    • @LindellAdventures
      @LindellAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is a drain hole for the storage but it's right at the water line and have seen if any weight is in the boat up front as far as additional anchors 150lbs + if will get water inside. Still haven't quite decided on the route for this but that is a good idea!

    Great job once again! It is nice seeing you take your time and doing things the right way. So many times we see people wanting to rush to the end and skip steps. Also it is good to see you have the priorities right on where to spend your money. Having an expensive belt sander doesn't help if you have to skimp out on materials for the boat. Thanks for the video and sharing your boat rebuilding journey with us!

  • @GoofieNewfie69
    @GoofieNewfie69 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    A lot, if not most quality boats are solid glass below the water line. As it only takes a small crack (on bottom where it goes un-noticed) for water to get in the core. You're talking about putting n 4 or 5 layers, plus a core which will require more resin and thicken resin(weight) to bond the core. 5 layers of 1708 is very strong. You can make a test strip to just how strong and impact resistant it really is. by doing a test strip you can see if you need to put out the extra expense of a core. do a 1 by 3 foot test, it can be cut up for other uses later . Two layers of glass, install stringers and other supports, the 3 layers of glass

    • @LindellAdventures
      @LindellAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have noticed more weight with glass hulls compared to the closed cell foam since it doesn’t take too much resin to bond. I am hoping the 2-3 layers will help strengthen the hull and coring to take hard blows. Thank you for the info! I will keep that in mind!
