ya like i made a facilitating finisher on 2k21 with post take like joe did on 20 it gets pro dribbles at 96 has a higher 3 pointer then the post play and 82 speed with 94 strength at 99

2K needs use player DNA from myleague. Just let us download the rookie DNA of any player in NBA history and let us build off that with badges and attributes
Believe it or not, 2k10 and 11 Crew mode was very similar to what you are describing. You could literally save your player for other people to download as well and continue to build on stats of real nba players, and your player looked exactly like whoever you wanted in the game. Haha I guess I’m an old head now cus most ppl don’t know about this
The 2k14 system was basically fixed compared to 2k11 and 12. I remember in 2k12 while having a 3pt specialist you could play defense, dribble, pass and have contact dunks
IMO 2k17 had one of the most FUN player builders because you could get every badge in the game on bronze and archetypes could get their respective badges to HoF. This made it feel like your player was actually a 90-something overall NBA player that was decent at everything on the court but was also elite at the archetype they chose. So a sharpshooter could still dribble, drive and play defense decently but only the sharpshooter was elite at shooting over defenders or from deep. Same goes for all the other archetypes
For the next gen builder I want attribute caps to unlock every tier of badge not just gold and hall of fame. It doesn’t make sense that a 62 steal can get you 3 tiers of a badge but you need a high 80s to get it hof. It allows more builds to be unique depending on how you want to play
I always hated the archetype system after 2k16… I felt it wasn’t fair for them to limit our my player when players like Michael Jordan/lebron weren’t limited
The most important thing when making a build for me is being able to unlock as many animations as possible and then letting my skill make up for the rest.

I put the rest into defense and shooting because my skill can make up for having relatively low shooting and defense. If your dribbling and finishing aren't high enough, you can't magically unlock those effective animations.
NBA 2k16 was the only 2K game where I hit Legend 😂😂😂 idk just Park was so fun and so exciting to play… Playing park was such a joy back in 2K16… That grinding was actually fun to do it didn’t feel like a chore or a job but it felt like a fun thing to do… I remember just being able to pop in 2K16 and have fun… They need to bring back base 11 too! I’m tired of stuff Jumpshots like base 98 they need to bring back the high jumping bases and the high arc releases… Just because a few people complained about stretch bigs being able to jump high… That’s what made the game fun… It was a little annoying but that’s what made 2K 2K… I wish they bring back base 11 one day…
2K19: The Only 2K where every style ate. Post Scorers were Tuff, Locks were going crazy, I remember those shot creating sharpshooters=GG, ISO 6’10 PURE POINT FORWARDS omg..even the post scoring shot creators with the double takeover=ITS OVER, and let’s not forget the stretch 4s DUKE Dennis was going BONKERS. Like bro, 19 really goated. Way more builds were viable. Way more options.
don’t forget the pure shot creators or pure playmakers. the game was well balanced, all positions had at least 2 good builds and yes some builds were broken but it was fun. this game is hella underrated def my top 2k
I know this video is a month old and this is an unpopular opinion, but 2k14 is a couple tweaks away from the best builder ever in my opinion. It was so simple, but I loved that you could pick your play style and your caps reflected it, but you could still do everything else at a very high level regardless of what you picked, but if you picked athletic for instance you had a higher dunk/speed than any other play style but lower shooting caps, and you could still shoot at a respectable level once you maxed out your 3/middy and even before then. Vice verse with the 3 point specialist and so on. It just made sense if you know what I mean. You could only have 7 badges equipped at one time, which I was a fan of. It made everyone a little different because you had to pick and choose badges and play styles. I’m probably a little bias but 14-16 where the golden years of 2k imo. The gameplay was just flat out better than anything they have made since.
19 and 20 were the best builders for diversity (19 and 18 were more different than joe remebers as the badges were a alot different). I think the next gen has potential but we need even upgrades across builds and a set number of total badges

Lots of builds got additional shooting badges for example which really helped create more diversity in builds and all around improved the builder. A good example whould be instead of only 6’10 sf locks we got a bunch of 6’8 sg locks because corner spec was silver instead of bronze for sg. We also had more guards using shot creating somewhere as it had more shooting badges then before
I honestly like the concept of the last 3 my player builders. Choosing a certain skill set to play a certain way. But 2k limits so there are only 2-3 builds that can actually be effective.
I think the concept for next gen was the best my player builder idea in 2k history, it was just a couple small errors with it that made it op where every build and position could do everything and have no weaknesses🤦🏽♂️ but I loved the idea of being able to fully customize your own player

I feel like 2k has always modeled the best build of their game kind of what their cover star was. 2k15 you had 7ft SFs which was KD, 2k21 next gen you got 6'7 PFs which is Zion, 2k21 current gen you got playshots which is Dame.

Im telling you that 6 ft 10 pure lockdown build in 2k19 was what really put me on to always making a more defensive build now. i used to always play point but i loved getting steals and boards. decided to finally try to pure lock with that op corner shot and been hooked to defensive builds. forget scoring, boards and steals is all i like now lol

I like the freedom of next gen builder, obv needs to be tweaked a little but I think it’s the best we’ve seen. On the other hand i’ve always been a fan of the idea of 2k19 builder, but add a third arch so your primary is HOF, secondary Gold/silver and tertiary is silver/bronze depending on how your archs matchup with one another.

It shouldn't be surprising that the PF as a position has Quick first step on HOF. It should be surprising that there isn't a set threshold as "90 speed with ball at any position get HOF quick first step" because Giannis & Bron speed with ball is that high & he's a PF
