This is real problem in Metros - Last mile connectivity - You may commute 20 km in 50 rs.. comfortably in metro rail.. but from Metro station to ur location 2-3 km Auto wala will either not come or Ask 100rs.. Again people leave Metro and get back to private vehicle..
True.... E - Rikshaws in mostly towns [basically rural] are too good for such distance in just rupees 20 approx
Best way is for Govt to apply laws for auto rickshaw that Mumbai has. Strictly by meter
In kolkata the autowalas cant take us anywhere on their own, their area and path is fixed, like when i went to college, i had to take auto , which picked me from my house and dropped me near metro , they took 10rs just, then from metro i reached near college and then another auto picked me up and from station and dropped me near the college same 10rs charge, its very convenient as the rate is fixed thats 10rs to and fro .

it's very affordable especially in Cities But here in delhi, I think there's some corrupt union or what but the rates of all the rickshaw's are very costly...Prices are out of clouds for such small distance...
In my hometown in UP...E-rickshaws works very efficiently in low price
Not in every city,in hyd i commute daily by metro,metro station is 4km away from my house,its only 20rs via metro shuttle.
