Ha ha, I am glad I am not the only one who buys something because I have a feeling I am going to need it for something some day. And I usually do use it!
Thank you Miss Elizabeth for sharing your lively home. That’s the epitome “out of adversity comes many blessings.” Thank you Kayla for another great home tour. You are truly blessed with wonderful friends.
A couple of weeks ago my husband and I went to a historic town near our house in Northern California. While walking back to our vehicle after having lunch and doing some vintage shopping I noticed a magnolia tree along the sidewalk it had these beautiful red buds on it. Also on the ground there were tons of those buds/cones I picked most of them up to decorate for fall. I too love to bring nature into my house.
Everything looks so pretty. Elizabeth has the best ideas with styling her vintage finds. Thank God for his protection over Elizabeth and her husband during that storm.
The "flower frog" LOL what a perfect ending! That's a great idea to use hose nozzles for mini size bottle brush type tree bases. Hobby Lobby sells tiny ones in the "Tree for Me" section.... What a horrible thing to have a tree fall through her house but looks like she was able to get an upgrade now. Thank you Kayla for sharing fun beautiful tours as usual. Can't wait for the Christmas home tours next?
I believe the address sign on the basket in the kitchen is Hungarian. I have one from my husband’s childhood home. It’s definitely a Hungarian name and their style of address, but parts of Romania were in Hungary before WWI, so it could be either. I did look it up, and that is the name of one of the largest streets in Budapest. The u is the abbreviation for utca (street in Hungarian).
Elizabeth's home looks lovely, and all of her collections are displayed so creatively. I love all of her stuff, especially the pictures . How horrible to have a tree fall through the house, and then the stress of cleanup and redo. So happy all is well for her now and it all looks so good.
Good morning Kayla! I don't think I've ever seen a cloche that tall! But that stack of little chunky books is awesome! I love old books & the little ones are the best! Those old columns are so beautiful & look so pretty in the corner of the living room!🤍 I love sheep, those pieces of art are gorgeous! But the ceramic ones in the window are precious!🤍 I love to collect old lamps, her little lamp in the corner of her kitchen cabinets is so cool! Love it!❤ Ooh wow i love the spice box! I don't think I've seen one like that! I love anything old & made of wood too! Ooh i remember baby Bayer aspirin being in those little bike! My grandma always kept a bottle in her little kitchen cupboard! When I wa a little girl my grandma had this small, really old bag made from feed sack material. It was full of old marbles that belonged to 2 of my moms brothers that passed as children at the ages of 3 & 12. The passed on the same day from dime type of fever. There were quite A few of those clay marbles in it. My grandma said the older boys would make their marbles from clay sometimes. Oh I love her bedspread!!😮 It reminds me of the multi color transferware! I 1000% agree with Elizabeth! Its not real fried chicken unless its on the bone! And the thigh is the best😁 Lol I love to know a good fried pork chop bone!😋 Country folk! I love those old drying racks too Kayla! I love how she has all the little Terra cotta pots on hers!❤ Her angel vine is beautiful! Oh goodness I just absolutely LOVE her potting bench! I would love to have s set up like that! Isn't the piece on top roosting boxes? I see all her spiky flower frogs on the table, & the metal ones on the side of the house! That's so cool! Well i definitely enjoyed the tour! Thank you for taking us & Thank Elizabeth for inviting us & letting us see her beautiful home & all her amazing treasures! I pray both you ladies have a blessed weekend!🙏🏻
Oh - i really enjoyed the tour! All is looking great! Thankyou Kayla for the tour & thankyou Elizabeth for sharing your home & ideas! I love the name Elizabeth (i named one of my daughters Elizabeth).
It has been said “we don’t decorate we collect. We collect what we love and love what we collect. One of the reasons everything melts together so well. I have a Wesson oil crock and have had it a long time. I have never seen another one until I saw yours. The tour of your house was so refreshing because you could appreciate all your collectibles. Thank you for showing and sharing in a personal way.
I have that Wesson crock. I had one that was my parents' and I passed on to my daughter. Then I found one in a flea market/consignment store and rebought it LOL.
I had real pumpkins like she has on her porch and the squirrels and gophers started eating them. I was wondering why the squirrels are getting chubbier around here! Haha love the decorations ❤ Love from Virginia. 😊
What a fun tour through your house, Elizabeth!! It’s been a while since I was last home, but you’ve got me wanting to drive up there to discover this place you mentioned-Hwy 11 Antiques? Or something like that. I lived on Hwy 11 on the Chelsea end, and I don’t believe I ever saw that place. I know you’re glad to be back in the house. It all looks great, as always!
Thank you Kayla for taking us along with you for a visit with Elizabeth. I just love her collection of vintage finds and the sweet little stories behind every item. I am obsessed with your vintage trophy collection. I can't wait to coming back for your Christmas hone tour. ❤ you both.
It’s Judy again, and I think, after some research, you weren’t talking about a local Hwy 11 place…looks like it was probably part of the antiques trail sale? Girl, we just need to get together and go antiquing!
Cozy home. Love using nature to enhance. Thank you for sharing .
