The M2 Carbine model in COD WW2 is so funny that it uses the folding stock of the M1A1 Carbine, but with a fire selector. And the usual Alliance of Valiant Arms earrape sounds.
@@guts-141 Technically the M2 Carbines issued during late WW2 (around late 1944-1945) are restamped M1 Carbines that were given aftermarket conversion kits by the manufacturers. So in essence the M2 began its infancy by WW2, only to grow in usage by Korea.
The game that gets it the most right is Rising Storm 2 with the mag change anyway, can't comment about what it's like firing an M2, obviously. The 30 rounders do lock the bolt back, BUT, only to tell you your gun is empty, if you take out the mag, the bolt does slam forward. You can lock it back manually very easily, just push down the bolt hold open with your thumb while racking it back slightly further, take out your mag, and rack the gun, or, if your gun is like my M1, it might slam forward by itself if you put in the mag hard enough. The one thing I will say is the animation for pulling the bolt back looked a bit too strained, the bolt is incredibly light on the M1, but I can give that a pass with how good the mag change is.
Fun fact: In the RS:2s Vietnam M2 carbine, the bolt locks back when empty, but does not stay locked back when the magazine is removed. This is an actual thing on the 30 round M2 carbine magazines, as the follower lock the bolt open only when the magazine is in the gun. To get the bolt to stay, you must pull back slightly and push down on a pin in the bolt to keep the bolt locked open.
