Gaethje was dumb enough to obey and try to exchange in the last seconds and look worse than he was looking already. Not impressed by Max at all. It's mma, anything can happen most of the times but Ilia has proved who he is in every area and I don't see how Max can make the right last long enough to try outpoint Ilia. How? If by a miracle Max lands one sniper counter shot hard enough to sit Ilia on his ass, I don't it, we'll be having a Jai Herbert's deja vu flash instant comeback and Max will experience what he couldn't back then vs Khabib and either get TKO by ground and pound or submitted. got to be first every time he crouches Max has to leap forward with an offense that needs to be more than a jab. It needs to be a combo. Every time the guy gears up, meet leap in with fast hands. That's the way to stop Tysson's style. The moment you see him crouching that's the moment where he is gearing up for something. You can also use spinning kicks to the mid, Elbows to the mid. You have to meet him Mochida style. just be first whenever this Tupuria guy wants to gear up. he has durability and the courage to brawl because he hasn't take one yet. he reminds of Cody who after taking his first beatings, he literally became a counter striker and a hesitant one. He is there to Brawl, You don't give him that. Don't let him gear up and piss him off, so he goes for it more often.
